Hey, Does anybody play on a newer version of Mac, and has added any custom Regions? The file directory format has changed. It used to be /Users/___/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.simcity4.appstore/-----> But now, it is: /Users/___/Library/Containers/SimCity4™ Deluxe Edition/-----> ... When adding a new BMP file to the new region, on MAC, you have to enter the location MANUALLY. Therefore, I have no idea what to enter to access the BMP file. I have tried all these different combinations with no luck: SimCity4™ Deluxe Edition simcity4™ deluxe edition simcity4deluxeedition simcity4™deluxeedition etc etc etc ... I've reached out to Asypr for "help" but don't expect to hear anything back. Let me know if anyone has any luck! Currently, I have 0 ways to add a custom region to my game. Kinda lame... I have many words for Aspyr. Maybe... class action lawsuit?

Hey all, Been a member on here for well over a decdae or more (though using a new account) and recently started playing SimCity 4 again after about a 10 year hiatus. I've been using it allmost daily for a month now (steam copy, on a mac) and suddenly, my game wont start correctly. It launches in silence and without the "EA games" and "aspyr" launch windows and then dumps me into a blank region with no labels and no labels when i click on anything. When I try to open a lot the game crashes, however I am able to quit out of the game when in the region. I know Mac support is limited but anyone have any ideas of what could be going on? Been researching for awhile to no avail. Best, Sam

Looks like SC4 Deluxe for Mac on the Mac App Store & Steam is going to get a 64-bit update based on the fact that Aspyr is not removing it from the App Store and Steam. They posted a list this morning of the apps that won't get updated. https://support.aspyr.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000214186

Hello, I downloaded Aspyr SC4 on my Mac and was able to load years of play from one region map from my days on a Windows machine to my iMac a couple years back. What I don’t understand is that the right click fast scroll doesn’t seem to work on my iMac machine. The zoom is also responsive in a terrible way, moves in and out way too fast and poor control. I can’t seem to get used to how dreadfully slow it is using edge scrolling to navigate around and spent hours searching this site tonight to see if there is some kind of solution that would help me get back to playing the game again. When trying to lay down roads, move fast along borders and use zoom it just seems to take forever to move about the map. Are my days on SC4 over for good? Please help.

Hello, Everything was so smooth, playing on 10.11.6, but since yesterday night I have this message at opening, thus when I launch SC4, I get an empty region and it crashes after a few seconds. I didn't install anything new since the last time it was working. So I suppose the issue comes from Aspyr , I am right or the issue comes from my side ? Thanks a lot for your help.

For those who haven't heard yet, Apple announced at this year's Worldwide Development Conference (WWDC) that it was going to be phasing out support for 32-bit applications for macOS in 2018. The main points of the announcement are as follows: Beginning January 2018, no new 32-bit applications will be allowed on the Mac App Store. Beginning June 2018, all apps on the Mac App Store must have 64-bit support. macOS High Sierra (10.13) will be the last version of macOS to support 32-bit applications "without compromise". As SimCity 4 is a 32-bit application, and it is very, very unlikely that Aspyr would invest in conversion to 64-bit (it would require a complete re-work of the original source code from EA), this would appear to put the future of the Mac port of the game in doubt, particularly once macOS 10.14 is released. Since EA also built SC2013 as a 32-bit application, it would also be subject to the same. If so, this is a pretty huge blow on Apple's part, and even more damaging to SC4's Mac userbase than Microsoft's changes were for Windows users. -Tarkus

Some fun news for people who experience the plugin file limit, it's gonna be patched! In upwards of a month. I had started a convo with the bug report person, and they walked me through the process of giving them the needed info, so, everything will be awesome soon! Yay!

This game is once again playable without unexpected crashes and lack of mod support. No more do we have deal with the universal binary patch or looking for a pre 10.7 mac to play on. The new version actually runs better than the windows version. And now that I have NAM again I once again can play this game.

Introducing my seven-digit neighborhoods...
1131989 posted a City Journal entry in Seven Digit Neighborhoods (SC4 Mac)
Hi! I am one of the thousands of people who heard all the chatter about SC2013 and jumped to download the re-released Aspyr port. I don't really have much of a story or narrative, although I have followed some principles (I am an urban planning/real estate professional and often build a city or two after work): -New urbanism: mix of housing types and zones within neighborhoods. Although I have suburbs, I have no sprawl, regional malls, or cul-de-sacs and most of my communities are compact. -Little cheating: the only "cheat" I use is a money park that I only use during construction. Almost all of my cities are currently in the black. -Flat terrains: with one exception, none of my cities have been terraformed because I want my planning, not the landscape, to be the focus. -Multicultural BATs: I use buildings from all over the world, although I try to pick buildings that are harmonious with one another. My loose "theme" is imagining that the Filipinos of 18th century New Orleans (no lie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Malo,_Louisiana) got their own country in the American great plains, so I have a mixture of European, Asian, Yankee, and Latin American architecture with some Near Eastern and African influences. The city above, Fouye, has a Haitian name and is intended to have a mild African influence. I don't just do rural, though.-
