  1. NAM: Requests - 2nd Edition

Just a few things I noticed on my return to using NAM heavily in the past weeks that would be nice (most have workarounds however). Some I suspect might not be possible, but I'll mention them all the same. Diagonal RRW under viaduct rail is missing and vis a vis. There are puzzle pieces, but these don't connect with the rest of the network (unless I'm missing something very obvious). Connections for the 4x4 roudabouts feel like they should have road to diagonal access, but don't. on that note I tried to do a RHW4 connection to the diagonal on a 4x4 roundabout which didn't work - This is something I can see myself using again however. The flagpole/lamp on the pedmalls shouldn't occur on every tile - it looks a bit weird to me as is (I think I remember seeing a mod where it only occurred every 2nd or 3rd but I can't find it anywhere). I know this is probably not feasible, but it would be nice if there was some capability to make more of the bridges accessible to different RHW networks (for example have a RHW6 bridge be compatible with RH4). Just a general vote for more bridge variety. I know they're probably complicated to make, but gee I love me a good bridge. 90' curves for RHW 10S - or at least a better way of creating something close to it. Making a curve with 10S currently feels super clunky to get working. Seconding a vote for NWM compatible viaducts. It feels clunky going back into avenue and then back into the old network again. Seconding a vote for more curves for GLR, ER as well as the NWM networks.
  2. Show us Your Interchanges!

Not the most complicated interchange out there, but by far and a way the weirdest one I've put together.
  3. Entry 25: Birkenhang Mountains

This super pretty stuff. Great MMP work!
  4. EDIT: FIXED! So we've managed to fix the prop appearing - I backed up the relevant dat file then deleted the prop from it. I went into the map, saved, and then closed, then re-added the dat file back. Hopefully this doesn't have any unforeseen consequences. I might lay of the prop painter for now however. For additional context, this is the prop in question that is immortal (apologies for the photo, screenshots still crash the game). The cause seems to be that when I leave the prop painter it maintains the last instance of first chosen prop I selected - in this case the fence. The location on my Highway was just coincidentally where my mouse happened to be when I exited the painter. You'll notice that another prop has accidentally just been made immortal using this method. Might be related to another error - if I select one prop then select another the initial prop remains shown though when I place a prop the new selection is used. I've tried a few deletion methods and haven't managed to find a permanent solution just yet, so assistance will still be appreciated.
  5. I've stumbled across an unfortunate problem. It seems you can create 'immortal' props with the painter that are difficult to delete. I managed to use the old tried and tested way of covering the prop with other instances of itself and then bulldozing which seemed to work, but then it will reappear after I save the game. Interestingly rotating the map stops showing the prop, so it's not the end of the world. But it's something to look at none the less.
  6. Is that a full backup of CapitalSim's files? I was a little worried about them - their forums are pretty much dead and theres a lot of files on there you can't find anywhere else.
  7. Weird request

@ng4ever where exactly are you having problems? We should at the very least be able to identify a pain point and help you through it
  8. Show Us Your Suburbs

  9. Show us your Overview of your City/Town

What is this? A beautiful Australian fever dream?!
  10. BAT4Blender

I'm using Bat4Blender 0.5.1 with Blender 5.0.1. I believe Java 25.0.1(?) is installed too. These are the current settings I've got. I turn off super-sampling it will render up to 6% then move on. I initially thought it hadn't generated anything but it actually generated an SC4Model file which I missed. If I try open it in Ilive reader it crashes however. I dare say I'm missing something very obvious. Appreciate the help though, it's my first real attempt at the BATing process so I'm a little over my head in this learning phase. Edit, I realised I didn't answer your request about the system console - very dumb question, but how do I find this?
  11. BAT4Blender

Well, actually, thats not true. There was no error message but while it seemed to start rendering, nothing was actually processed properly.
  12. BAT4Blender

@memo Yes I do - but somethings clearly not working with it. Disabling super sampling got rid of the error message and allowed things to continue processing.
  13. BAT4Blender

Just having a play around at the moment but having trouble with the exporting part. It comes up with this error. I have managed once to render something properly but haven't managed to recreate this (despite essentially using the same settings).
  14. Is SimCity 4 Really Dying?

The game will only die when the community does. As someone who comes and goes from games often it's pretty clear that the core community here is reasonably stable. We still have people enjoying the game and pushing it to it's limits. Should be noted too, Reddit has a pretty active SimCity 4 sub with both posters and consumers of content. So no, not dying, though it would be nice to get more people into the community.
