Cieszyn Silesia is a balanced, highly playable 5x5 region designed for both beginners and long-term builders. The terrain combines defined river systems, coastal access, workable hills, and generous flat land, giving you structure without limiting creativity. The region features: A natural river valley with multiple development corridors A detailed coastal delta with islands and strong port locations Defined coastal start points Elevated ridge terrain suitable for scenic towns or resource builds Large, usable plains ideal for early expansion Because it’s a compact 5x5 layout, you can: Make visible progress quickly Manage the entire region without overwhelm Easily capture full-region screenshots Develop organically over the long to mid term This map is ready to work with — simply download, extract, and place it into your Documents\SimCity 4\Regions folder. No additional setup required. Whether you're building a dense European-style corridor, a port-industrial powerhouse, or a mixed rural region, Cieszyn Silesia offers clear advantageous starting positions along the coasts, islands, and valley floor. Designed for structure. Built for growth. -
I'm playing on the vanilla SimCity 4 new york region. Buildings in the borough of queens: large Airstrip, two coal Power Plants = we started with wind but that quickly didn't work for long because we're an industrial powerhouse, an Amazon warehous- err a Prison = for the people caught profitee- err not holding down a job, six churches to worship our overlord the llama, four cemeteries = you know we from New York shizzle happens, a casino, an army base to call in the nat *censored*

Hey urbanmosaic. Update: I'm going to judge the contest. The contest end at the end of the month -> greenich mean time; note: 12:00 am is the first minute of the day. Cities are to be sent to me -> please upload to google drive then send me the link. I can totally donate to simtropolis, hobbyist/retrogame site and/or any valid nonprofit (not associated with politics), or via paypal - currency conversion/transaction fees are on the recipient, I'm in the usa. -
Introducing the SimCity 4 hardcore challenge there's only 4 rules TLDR: hard difficulty, no mods, no cheats, only one city 1) hard difficulty 2) no mods - an exemption can be made for mods that prevent the game from immediately crashing to desktop but no mods that affect gameplay such as NAM, CAM, spam, airport/seaports, no bug fixes - you have to deal with bugs such as rich people not working in high tech or certain educational buildings being a detriment once maxed out. 3) no cheats - aside from maybe renaming the tile/mayor but still try to avoid 4) limit 1 city - you create a new region then edit the config in paint to be one large tile 4x4 pixels blue (0,0,255) - you are solely responsible for you're own trash/water/power/sewage You're allowed to zone or build whatever you like, tax however you like, connections - to simnation - are allowed, terraforming is allowed (if it somehow helps), you can take loans and intentionally go broke to get bizness deals and double plop rewards I'll gift the winner (highest population) a game up to $25 usd via steam, I can be convinced to go higher based on how good the build. I was tired of seeing maps that were not fun to play on because they had very little buildable area and also were an unrealistic place for people to settle. Most maps being too big (100s or 1000s of tile) or too small (3-4 large tiles), this map is 10 tall by 9 wide with 95 large tiles and about 20 medium ones - it will look full after about 6-11 cities although you could contextualize an urban core with a small handful of cities like 3-4; the tiles are staggered allowing for commercial (office) centers for those that want to do a large international airport challenge. The file size is respectable is 41.6 mb compressed or 80 mb unzipped - so player won't be complaining if you play multiplayer via your private sc4mp server (feel free to invite me) or file swapping. A retro version of this region is already on 2 sc4mp multiplayer servers with different owners that aren't me. This is the biggest version with the most buildable area, I also fixed some of the hills and contextualized the coast a bit by expanding it. This map is a river valley map, of a hypothetical fictitious small state. Some people will prefer to densify the hills and some flatten, others will add touches or leave the way it is. Download the zip and extract to your regions folder. -

This is the same as the original arkatanya except I removed the extraneous connections that were from a multiplayer region I hosted. I renamed the region Silverbend Praire, as it reflects my vision of this being a farming region. You can rename it whatever you want by modifying the region.ini file. I'll a version of this with the regional transit (highways and rail) soon, that will be under arkatanya#4. Most maps being too big (100s or 1000s of tile) or too small (3-4 large tiles), this map is 8x8 with 60 large tiles and about 16 medium ones - although it will look fairly populated once it has 16-25 cities; the tiles are staggered allowing for commercial (office) centers for those that want to do a large international airport challenge. I made a brand new arkatanya there's no lingering connections or mayor's names in the mayor data like arkatanya #1. However, I put this together last night unlike arkatanya #1 that was put together over the course of several sessions. I'm thinking of adding highway connections and cleaning up the hills, so it can be one of those ready made maps. The file is a 7zip file. It has to be extracted with 7zip and placed in your regions folder. -
