Hi Guys, what actually is the specific difference between HSPR and Rail? I have read some posts about the use of the networks but for me it seems to be rather a matter of taste than a diffent use or purpose. I always have considered HSPR as a high speed train tool for long distances (like ICE in Germany or SNCF in France) with few stations in every city only. But from the capacity of it's stations it seems to be rather a local train than the usual railway which provides bigger stations... Also I do not find many HSPR (or GSPR) stations to download. There are more for railway. So is HSPR just another train system or does it has effects to the traffic system of SC4, resp. different effects than usual railway?

Hi After some years I have installed SC4 again with the NAM 36. I would like to use the streets of the NWM but I can't find a way to cross rails or other roads over or under it's streets. I have tried to put a railway under a NWM-street but I can't find the puzzle-piece for undergroundrail under NWM-streets. I can place the underground-railway-puzzle for the usual Maxis road over the NWM-street but after the texture is different (in this square is show the texture of the normal Maxis streeet, not that of the NWM-Street). I also dont find overpasses or bridges over NWM streets. So how do I use those streets. Obviously without ever beeing crosses over or under it, the NWM streets doesnt make sense. I have found no tutorials about this matter...

Hmm.. Thank you. Acutally I have had it in my Plugins folder already... But I can't find them in the game. The readme does not tell anything about this but that it is a dependency for other pieces. So are the fences enough to be downloaded or does the fences from the YouTube video need other downloads (for the ground plates for example)...

Hi @ all Does there exist any problems with tram lines that cause the game craching? Since I am running SC4 on one CPU only I do not suffer crashes of the game anymore. Now I have added tramlines into my city and I have suffered some crashes while scrolling in and out the city. I have removed the trams and continued playing the city and I do not have crashes anymore. So does tram lines might have problems that cause crashes? I have installed the SC4fix.dll so the crashes do not occur when I touch puzzle pieces with already placed pieces. It must be another problem (if there is one).

Hi! On YouTube I have seen a video that shows a guy who can use God Mode during playing a city. What do I need for that tool? I have seen he can set trees very quick but I am not sure if it is becaue of the godmode... It would be great to have godmode after founding a city but first of all I am looking for a way to set many trees quickly. It always is bothersome to set any single tree...

Somehow this does not work in my game. I press the keys and klick on the groundwork button (where I can rise and lower ground, plant trees etc.) but I do not enter godmode by this.

I am running SC4 on Windows and on Mac. On my MacBook I am missing some puzzlepieces of transportation systems. For example I cant choose underground ramps for alley WITHOUT tram and I dont have railroad viaduct curves (those pieces that built a the start of a curve from straigt to diagonal on two groundfields). I have copied my NAM36 from the plugins folder on my PC to the pluginsfolder on my MacBook but I cant find these pieces. I have tried to install NAM38 on my MacBook. During installation I could not change the directory so it was installed into the documents path but I have transferred it to the plugins folder in the install DIR. But also in NAM38 these pieces are missing. A second question: Since I have problems to install NAM38 on my PC I would copy the NAM38 folder from my MacBook to the PC. This should be ok, right?

Hi @ all I am a "mayor" from Germany and thankful to be here with you because I already have got big help from you. I already played SC2 and love SC4. But because of big problems while playing (gamecrushes) I again and again stopped playing. Now I have reset my computer now and have made a new try with SC4 and found out the trick to run SC4 on one CPU only. Since then I have no crushes anymore I really appreciate the work of the modders that has improved SC4 very much and also appreciate the work that is done here in the forum. It is not common that a game attracts players for such a long time. This is because of you work! I am running SC4 on Windows at home and on my MacBook while travelling. I have chosen the screenname "Murcutt" because Glenn Murcutt is an architect that has inspired me very much over the years. I like his attitude of design and embedding his houses into the surrounding nature perfectly very much.

I will check that out later. At the moment I don't have the necessary calmness to do it. Usually I use the disc symbol of the menue. Someone in a german forum told me not to use "save and quit". The latter was the first crash and after I saved my games often with the disc symbol. But one time by doing so it crashed also. The save was not damaged but the changes being made were deleted. It is possible that firefox was open too. I don't remember. The other guy also told me to pause the game and save. Today I have saved with the disc symbol after pausing the game often and everything was fine. I had made sure no other window is open. I use SC4 in fullscreen mode only. Maybe the problem is being solved. I have a quite old PC - no SSD only HDD. Intel i5, 3.2 GHz, two CPU (the game is running on one CPU only) 12 GB RAM 6,5 GB RAM available 13.8 GB virtual memory (whatever that might be... ) 7.4 GB virtual available Graficcard ATI Readon HD 5570 - that might not be the best. When the cities grow big I get a little problems. I run SC4 in WIN7 compatibility mode, on one CPU and without Intro ("C:\01 Alex\02 Spiele\SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CPUCount:1 -intro:off). I have installed version 1.1.164.0 by Origin, the 4 GB Patch and the SC4fix.dll (latter is in the documents\Plugins folder as you see on the screenshots). The Plugin Folder is not that big yet. Firstly I have installed just the RAM and the city- and network buildings (like police, trash station, railwaystations, busstations, powerstations etc.) I first wanted to check out the game with those. The size in the install DIR Plugins folder is 1.33 GB. I try to insert a screenshot of the folder. In the folder zz_Mods I have two folders: Tunnel and Slope MOD and z_NAM. Later I want to add office and living buildings and factories. I also send you a shot of the documents\plugins folder. I did not install anything to the documents\plugins folder. It must have been done by the installer.

Thanks a lot guys. Now I know why I neither found puzzle pieces for crossing a NWM-road nor any tutorials I have avoided to use transmissions to Maxis standard roads since I always have thought this will cause congestions. It is also a useful information that rail crossings over a road do not lead to more congestions than an override. Thanks. I have thought about installing NAM38 but the readme says it doesn't work with Origin copies of the game. But yesterday accidently I have read the same in the NAM36 readme and it works fine (my Origin version is patched to .641) so I want to try. One question: the readme says I must move the z_NAM folder out of the plugins folder. I guess I have to move the z_NAM folders out of both Plugin folders, right (that one in the installation path and that one in the documents folder). I have one more question: I always had problems with game crushes (this is why I stopped playing SC4). It seems as if I have solved this problem by running the game on one CPU only. I could play for a while but now the game sometimes crashes while saving the game. It does not crush completly, the cursor comes back as if the saving has completed. But there is not the "having saved" window and I can't click anything anymore. Does anybody know about this problem? I have installed the 4 GB Patch, the SC4fix.dll, running on one CPU and now I have changed to Win7 compatibility mode (it seems the latter doesn't help).
