  1. That's unfortunate, it might be necessary to render it again unless anyone else has an idea...
  2. I think I know this error. Looks like you made your lot into a ploppable lot, if you opened an older custom lot then switched this building to the new one it sometimes seems to read the old building ID and this happens. If that's the case try making this building a different type of plop building (library, school) and see if it still occurs.
  3. Schuyler Street Apartments

Ha what a coincidence, I found it while going to Taste Tickler. Do you remember if that was the name of this apartment?

A neat little L shaped corner apartment in the Irvington neighbourhood of Portland built in 1929 that as far as I can tell is just called the Schuyler Street Apartment. R-$$ tailored for a corner, the front lawn/walkway was raised and is basically part of the building so I incorporated it into the lot itself to avoid issues with prop placement inside the LOD, along with the foliage/trees etc.
  5. Schuyler Street Apartments

That is a question only the folks back in 1929 could answer.... There appears to be other doors on the ground floor around the back of the building that might have given better emergency access, unfortunately I couldn't find any clear images of them so I had to leave them out.
  6. Show us What you're Working On

Almost done, could probably use some more work on the trees perhaps?
  7. Show us What you're Working On

Incorporating trees and hedges into the lot is going a little better than I expected, also makes it look very cozy...
  8. Show us What you're Working On

Interesting, I'm not sure how to do it but if anyone knows of this tutorial please let me know.
  9. Show us What you're Working On

Working on something a little more unique, trying to incorporate the greenery into the lot itself since the LODs wont allow them as props... Trees/shrubs sort of mixed results so far I'd say...
  10. Trying to make some smaller trimmed trees/hedges for use around yards but it seems like there's an annoying shadow/blackout sort of effect, possibly when the mesh uses too many sections? Here is the same tree prop, before and after 'noise' is applied, see the after model on the right has some dark outlining around a few of the edges. Doesn't seem like the texture has anything to do with it. How can we correct this in Gmax? Also is there a way to make these leafy props without using as many mesh sections?

Zeus Storage is a fictional business investigated by Mulder in the season 1 finale of The X-Files. Based off of a small industrial business near the Vancouver waterfront at 1616 Pandora Ave, which was an appropriate sounding address for the theme of the show, so they used the same street address for it's counterpart. A nondescript little filler building perfect for a dark 90's alleyway scene, I made the building a little smaller than it actually stands since I didn't think it looked photogenic enough as a larger building with a second floor. It's a simple CS-$$ building lotted for a W2W corner. Watch out for alien bounty hunters posing as humans...
  12. Another thing to consider is some smaller details, especially in gmax, wont even be noticeable when they are rendered onto the final model. I remember trying to detail some small things about a chimney in the first model I made and they made no difference as they were only a few pixels when the model was rendered to the smaller in game scale. I've even needed to remove some smaller details since they end up looking very warped and awkward when rendered.

Went back to this one and feel like I finally got the neon down decently...

Clatsop County Heritage Museum located in the north westernmost corner of Oregon in the neat little town of Astoria. Formally just called Heritage Museum, built in 1905 it served multiple civic uses including city hall, library, police station and jail. Eventually it landed in the hands of the local historical society where it is used as a museum/historical archives. Mostly true to the original building save some small details on the columns and window frames which I just could not get to look properly in Gmax. The building also exists on an incline making it necessary for me to give it a different set of stairs without a ramp on the south side of the building (right side of the building in game). And the back of the building which isn't really visible since it now has another building almost right up against it. It costs 1/10th a normal museum operating costs, it has one dependency which everyone probably already has (BSC Mega props) for the flora and one for the sign which I made and included with the download. Thanks to @sejr99999 for testing the lot.
  15. Show us What you're Working On

Museum is undergoing the last few touches before release
  16. Show us What you're Working On

The museum is almost done, adding my own foliage directly into the lot because LODs really hate props. By the way, does anyone have any models of smaller trees or shrubs I could incorporate into the lot, I have some there but they consist of way too many geospheres which might affect the rendering.

MattB was great, and it wasn't just the great lots he did that were such great contributions, he was super helpful to me when I was learning BAT. It's sad they took the abilities of a great artist away like that but even still he left us with enough to last a lifetime.
  18. Can't find it?... Ask here!

I believe these were by JMyers? No idea where to find them anymore, but one of the site mods probably has an idea.

Since 1958, Linbrook Bowling in Anaheim has been in business open 24 hours with 40 lanes as the old neon sign out front says. A 4x3 lot, I wasn't sure if it should be CS$ or CS$$, I went with CS$ in the end. This is smaller than the actual building which would probably be 4 or 5 tiles wide at least if it were accurate to the real life counterpart, not to mention the parking lot would probably make this something like 8x5 which was way bigger than I wanted a bowling alley to be. This also meant I had to abbreviate the front sign from 'Linbrook Bowl' to simply 'Bowl'. The neon sign is a prop included in the download.
  21. This is the problem Behy was mentioning, these links do not link to the downloads
  22. Seems like there's some expired links, but this should be the Lot Editor download https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/summary/40-maxis/55-lot-editor And this should work for the BAT https://www.moddb.com/games/SimCity-4/downloads/SimCity-4-building-architect You will also need the Plug In Manager eventually, but only after you finish the model in BAT.
  23. 1x1 Dirty Industrials

I must have missed or forgotten these, but these are a great little addition. Much more realistic and better looking than the lazy Maxis fillers, I might even make some of these myself.
  24. @Behy Lot Editor will take existing buildings and allow you to add things like parking lots/fences etc. BAT is the one used to create the actual buildings. I might not understand what you are asking, but If you are trying to make the buildings themselves then BAT is the one you want to use. So you would create the building in BAT then use Lot Editor after to make the lot the building would use to appear in game.
