Drawing State Lines in Cities and Regions.

Found it! There are diagonal and shaded versions for stone and brick. ... -
DeKalb lot and railroad BAT testing I wanted to get some motivation to finish the DeKalb BAT, so I worked on a lot for it... while testing some new HD railroad models cleaned up from the Warehouse. A GG-1 in Amtrak livery, pulling the Maxis coal train. A steam locomotive with coal tender. And a railroad water tower. The DeKalb tower's concrete has been textured with a coal dusty look... vents, doors and windows are mostly complete. Grand staircase has its full run but needs railings. Lamps over the chutes are in place. The empty coal cars are feeding the hopper that is conveyed into the elevated part of the tower, and from there into the locomotives' tenders. The ground textures with coal are from @Simmer2's Swan Mill texture pack. And of course RippTide's wagons are out of sync with the GG-1, this is just for fun. But the lot could fit early or mid 20th century. Smoke effects They are in SimCity_1.dat, and are only accessible (as props) in the Maxis Lot Editor, not in Pim-X as far as I can tell. I added them to the lot with the regular LE, then went back to work fine tuning their position in Pim-X. About 3-4 trial and error tests to get it over the smokestacks. Here is a photo of a prototypical GG-1 hauling coal (Conrail and Amtrak both had black GG-1s):

I was too busy fixating on the plopped access roads, they seem underappreciated... what are they? It would be great to see the Cotton Warehouse on the STEX!

@DavidDHetzel I really like the diagonal fillers around the traffic circle. What BAT is the blue barn-like building, the Traveler's Lodge?

Nice! Just a few thoughts: The can bales could use a little more variation, rotation on the Z axis would help, and maybe position some of them just a tiny bit higher or lower on the Z axis so they stand out more from each other. For the rusty metal load, the texture is really great but the load mesh could use more angles so that the walls of the car show in some places on the edges. Like this: /\-/\_/\/\... The mixed metal load looks good as-is, maybe rotate the texture as for can bales.

@Talla 2XLC Try Jestarr's Train Set mod to start: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1572

The new darker grey is a better match.

I've been working on a few things here and there. Something in my plugins is giving prop pox, but I haven't found it yet, so there's that. Singer Building W2W relot A request has been made for the hastily dashed-off Singer Building W2W relot - I was thinking of putting streetside props on it to release it, but doubt I'll find the time soon. It looks like the original upload is no longer on the STEX. Anyway, here is a quick 3x3 plop of the BAT to be decorated or relotted. Singer Building - Relot.zip

Looks good to me, on an older screen and a newer one. On the alternate paint style on the rightmost car, the grey color on the left of the car could be a little darker. On unit trains of those cars which I have seen, the contrast between the two colors of the car is greater. The lighter part of the car looks just about right, though.

Seems the coal settles into a mound shape. Some of the car inside walls showing, and some coal poking up along the car spine. @DavidDHetzel had another photo near the end of the last page. Here's another modern prototype, similar cars to the above models.

Another vote for #2 here, looks good to go. Like @T Wrecks said, with bright areas like that on the coal on #2, I check the far out zoom previews to make sure the bright part of the model doesn't end up rendered too large in the distant zooms. This was something I had to tune for all the lowrider models, to make sure the bumper or small shiny bits like mirrors didn't take up half of the car at zoom 1/2/3. I change the values for Saturation/Value/Specular Level in increments, only to the point where they no longer cause the problem, then leave settings there. For darkening textures like this coal a Specular Map would work, I use 0.3/0.7 or 0.7/0.3 +/-0.2, depending on which way I want to go.

The angled garages look a bit odd in this setting, but other than that... Nice idea with the seamless alley. I know there's a few commercial lots that behave that way but I've never seen it done with residential.

It was the latest Rural Draggable version that wasn't working with atmoguy's Sandstone Texture Mod for NAM. Removing that mod makes GLR look different and the missing grass texture comes back.

Thanks @APSMS ... here are some obvious candidates from my set: Paeng's Sandstone Mod(no obvious GLR components, haven't dug into dats) Sandstone Texture Mod for NAM by atmoguy (includes GLR components) Modular RR Props by jondor As usual, removing 50% of plugins at a time should quickly isolate which one is doing it. I'll report back. Edit: it was Sandstone Texture Mod for NAM. I'll look at patching it up if @AtmoGuy isn't around. I like that mod. Thanks again for suggesting to look at GLR mods.

That last one you posted in SP livery - build date 1965 with wooden sides, I've never seen any on the lines. Very nice for a historical set but not "modern". The oldest ones I still see are of the next generation from that - the ones featured in most of the other pictures just above.

This seems as good a place as any to post this IRM W2W Catalog I've compiled. Italics = base pack. Others are all separate downloads. Version A, Version B, Left Corner, Right Corner, Left Cap, Right Cap noted.

Hey, they look great. The rust inside looks perfect and the colors are also good. Just a few minor details: The Southern Pacific ones probably wouldn't have ridges inside or bars on the top - they are an older design but the extra ridges on the outside support the sides. We have lots of those particular cars around here. The newest designs from Gunderson with ribs inside seem to have some diagonal bars outside. The ribs inside these cars do look good, just might not be a perfect match to the outsides. Here is another reference for an older style (FMC Welded Side) with smooth insides and no bars on top, including SP livery. I see some of the collegiate sports ones around sometimes:

[Development] The Day Major Fantozzi went Farming

Oh my gosh, I read it backwards then! So those are vertical hydro gardens. I like it, maybe just a bit more variation in the rows, like blank spots? -
From here it looks like a perfect palette, the models that were too bright on my screen are now very easy on the eyes. We gotta figure out how to do automata, I need double stacks running through my cities pronto!

Looking great! The Gorgonzola lot might be a little crowded on the anchor, but the blend of elements seems good. Crops do look very nice on my screen, not too glaring at all. I am curious about the molecular hydrogen production facility - is there a particular prototype you are following? I did a little bit of searching and found this neat little setup - it may simply be powering the genset, however.
