This is fantastic. It's so much easier than installing and launching the game to see what a mod looks like. You rock - pun intended.

I just tested the Staples Center and it works just fine for me. Are you sure that you have the listed dependency? https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=90 Kind regards! Hi, Thanks for responding. Yeah I downloaded the BSC texture pack earlier. Still hasn't helped. I downloaded a few parking lot texture packs. Still no luck. The problem is I had to reinstall the game and everything when I Upgraded to windows 10, so I lost most of my files for sim city. I remember years ago there being a trick to getting the parking lot to work. I remember there is a specific texture needed that isn't listed on the dependencies and unfortunately there isn't a read me that I have found anywhere. :-( You need the BSC Textures Vol 02 in addition to Vol 01 as well as the Rockefeller Center landmark from Maxis.

Is anyone else having problems with the "Please wait x seconds before attempting another search." message popping up constantly? I've been using the New Content link at the top right to look at recent posts, but I frequently get this error when going to the next page or even just using the back button in my browser. It is making the site almost unusable for me. (I'm running Chrome 43 on Windows 7, if that's helpful. This problem happens on both my home and work computers, so I don't thinks it's an issue on my end.)

Are you using Yild's DAMN Manager? There is a bug in the latest version, which causes a crash on plop with hidden lots. He is aware of the issue, but I don't know if there will be a fix released. If you want to hide lots, I would suggest using Stefan79's SSP Tool instead.

I can see the first picture, but the next two links are broken. I'm using Chrome, if that helps. -
NOB's stuff is still available on the SimCity China site. Here is a link to the page for the rail textures: http://www.simcity.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=85285&page=5#pid1412615 You do need to register on the site before you can download.

Nothing bad happens until the station is 400% over capacity, then it stops working altogether. There is a deeper explanation of the capacity problem by the NAM's traffic simulator guru here: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12522.0 The station looks amazing already. This will be an amazing addition to the game!

Are there any tutorial for "blocker" mods?
ScottFTL replied to Hellken's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
It will remain in the same format as the original. Reader doesn't change that when you edit a file. It does get a little more complicated with DAT files because you only need to duplicate the lot files, but DAT files usually have everything inside them. I usually copy the lot file(s) into a new blank DAT, then save the new file with a name that will load after the original. You can't go wrong adding "z_" to the original name. -

Are there any tutorial for "blocker" mods?
ScottFTL replied to Hellken's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
The simplest way is to create a copy of the lot file, then change the growth stage in the LogConfig exemplar to 0xFF with Reader. Just make sure that the blocker version of the lot file loads last. -
Cool, thanks a lot :-) So is that a link I can pass on? Or maybe you just put it back on the Stex <grin>? Yes, as far as I know, you can pass the link along. It was publicly posted to one of the fan sites, but I can't recall which. I don't know why, but ebina decided to remove his/her mods from the STEX a while ago.

Help out a first time modder with something
ScottFTL replied to LivingInThePast's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
There are actually 5 reward lots that produce radiation - Advanced Research Center, Area 51, Army Base, Disease Research Center, and Toxic Waste Dump. You can remove the radiation for any of them using mod. It's an oldie but goodie - and absolutely essential in my book since there is no way to mitigate radiation in the game. -

You don't need to logon for this site. Just click on one of the links in the table, then you will see a grid with lots of images. Click on a picture, then you can download the file from there. Some of them don't have download links, but you'll find many that do. -
That is the Network Widening Mod (NWM), available here: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23827-network-widening-mod-windows/ The Network Widening Mod adds 13 new road networks. You need to have the latest version of the Network Addon Mod (NAM) installed to use this.

Sorry, I only meant for you to read the specific message that I linked to - not the entire thread. In order to make SC4Mapper work under Vista or Windows 7, you need to create a batch file to run the program. All credit for the following quote goes to user FLarsen at SC4D: Do not move the documents folder, that's just a waste. All you need to do is fool SC4 Mapper into using the Windows XP style path: - Start notepad. - Write on the first line: set USERPROFILE=%USERPROFILE:Users=Documents And Settings% - Write on the second line: SC4Mapper.exe Save this as "something.bat". You can name it whatever you want, but it MUST end with .bat, not .bat.txt or anything like that. Also, you have to save it in the same folder as SC4Mapper.exe Now just doubleclick on that file and it should work.
-
They both DO work with Vista and Windows 7. Check out this thread at SC4D for instructions on how to make SC4Mapper work: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=10330.msg393342#msg393342

SC4Tool crashes when I click on a pull-down menu. Help?
ScottFTL replied to WeBuiltThisCityOnSimCity's topic in SC4 Modding - Open Discussion
You want to select the "Disable desktop composition" option on the Compatibility tab. That should be all you need to change. -
The building on the left is the Newman Inc City Hall, and the one on the right is the Newman Inc Courthouse. There is also a library that matches the set - the Newman Inc Main Library.

There are currently several files for the RTMT. You need to run the v3.50 installer to start, then the v3.60 Add-On Pack. After that, there are separate releases for Interim T-RAM Stations and GLR Transitions. There are some important fixes in the v3.60 release, so be sure to go that far. The Interim T-RAM Stations and GLR Transitions are optional. These are the latest versions for now. The installation is a little complicated, but the readme files will guide you through the process. Be sure to read them carefully. If you run into any trouble, just ask for help. It's really worth the effort for these excellent stations. The next release should contain new stations for FLUPs and NWM networks, although I don't think the release is imminent.
