Here comes a building from the neighbourhood of Augustenborg in Malmö. It comes in three different colours, is medium wealth and grows on a 4x5 medium or high density lot. Stats: For maxis night version get AB_MN.zip and for Darknite get AB_DN.zip. Dependencies: BSC - VIP girafe birches SFBT Playground Props by Sam Johnson For the Darknite version you'll need SimFox Day and Nite Modd 1 If you want to see what I'm currently working on visit my BAT thread.- 23 Comments

As I am now a member of the NYBT this will from now on be were I show any New York related BATs and creations. First one you might have seen in my BAT thread in the open discussions room: Day render Maxis Nite render Darknite render Some modding and proper lotting is what still needs to be done on this one before release. A new project I have started, are there anyone who can see what it is yet? This is very early in its stages and is little more than a volume study.

Hello, thought I should open up a thread to show my work here. Everything I show here is works in progress, some more done and worked on than others. First, a residential building which can be found in the neighborhood of Ribersborg, Malmö. A corner building from Mott Haven, Bronx, NY. Row homes inspired from many seen in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY A corner building from Astoria, Queens, NY Detached house, this type of houses can be found in the outer neighborhoods of NYC, Newark and other places. Hearst Tower, Midtown Manhattan, NY. For the row houses and detached houses I'm planning to do building families, but at the moment that is just plans, and ya'll know how plans can be like.

You can do that already with the current version, simply hit escape and the render will cancel. Mandelsoft was quicker, oh well now you seen it twice and wont forget. It would be cool to have the whole export process to be done in 3ds Max, without having to dabble with Gmax. I don't know how coplicated it would be to achieve this but I recall having read a Simfox post in the past saying it wouldn't be too hard. (Although I guess that difficulty estimate was for someone who already had rewritten most of Bat4Max. ) I use 3ds Max 2012, as I haven't bothered with upgrading yet.

nybt-forum-threads Darknono35's NYBT projects

It's actually granite, but yes as the stone is now it's too saturated. You should look up Balmoral granite (that's the type of granite used on this building) and see if you can find a good photo to build your texture from, or use some stacked cellular maps, that can produce a decent procedural granite texture. Apart from the stone cladding it looks really good. -
It was our settings for the forum that had things messed up, I think I've fixed it now so that anyone can view and post in our forum, just like anyone could before.

Ooh, it's looking really good. I'm not sure how much would be seen through those windows but with their size they could allow for some pretty interesting views of the interior during nights.

Great to see you back. Some chairs and plants and stuff on the balconies and what gutterclub said and Abelia will be perfect. Kamelia is looking great too, I look forward to see more of both.

Thanks guys. A little update. Aaron said earlier that I should do some alternative coloured versions of this, does anyone have any suggestions on colours? -
For the falloff map, add two points to the mix curve and make it as steep as possible, something like this. And fallof type and direction should be the default perpendicular / parallel and viewing direction (camera z-axis). I think this is all that is needed. I have been experimenting a bit with this too lately, I want to get max to render a ready to use bitmap for this, but to no success, I have also tried camera mapping, but I don't know how to get the modifier to use the bat4max cameras. If there is a way to use the camera map with the bat4max cameras I think that would produce nice results.

CAM adjusts growth stages for many (all?) lots, I think CAM has 10 stages for industrials where a unmodded SC4 only has 3, and the growth stage property is in the lot exemplar. Edit: Read a little on CAM and this may not be true, but I think it's plausible to explain the conflict.

Looks better! You could add some noise to the stains so the dirt look less clean. In the picture of the real building you can see some of the seams in the roof, I think you should add that too. Very subtle lines as they are not too obvious in RL. The night lights looks nice. -

It looks nice Vlasky, Francis advise is good, lower the contrast on the bricks, the painted bricks could use some desaturation but I don't know if they need to be brighter and the rust looks a bit odd, here you should be conscious about how you place the rust texture what parts of it are likely to rust. The same goes for all wethereing effects on the building. I see you have been doing this for the bricks, it has splash stains at the bottom where it meets a vertical element such as that small roof. However with some of the stains on the roof I feel I can see the brush strokes.
