  1. Tribute to A Nonny Moose

I was pretty young back when I used this site, and Nonny, among some others were there to talk to me as I browsed casual city journals and discovered new mods for SC4. Gosh I don't even remember how to mod the game anymore, it's been that long! Really great history buff, polite to a fault, always willing to talk to you even if you clearly didn't have much life perspective yet, (he sure as hell put up with my younger world view and walked me through some things) and lovely to speak to all the same. I'm late but I'll miss him regardless.
  2. Origin Friends

origin: CupcakeSama I'm on right now, playing it quite a bit.
  3. Education in the Western World

Thanks for the great suggestions, I'll definitely look into them all, I'm just stuck is all, so I get depressed over it all lately. Thanks again.
  4. Education in the Western World

I'm just realizing now that I don't even know what kind of carreer would be suitable for myself, with the way I am. What fits someone who is caring, looks at big pictures, likes to tinker, doesn't like essays, loves talking and convincing, loves art, enjoys labor, hates deskwork and doesn't involve college? Meh...
  5. Education in the Western World

I needed this, but it was never done this way in my time. And now I struggle more than I should. I'm not truly academic myself, I simply like to learn things, but I don't want a college degree over it. I WOULD rather work sewers or coal mines or even a farm, instead. They're all hard work and I like hard work. It gives me something to DO and I do not want to do office work at all.
  6. Maxis Visit, thoughts and impressions

I wonder if it's possible to sue them for basically not allow you to use what you payed for if it comes to that. If I can't sue or get compensation in the form of a refund, I think I shouldn't buy it. But other than that for a start from scratch Sim City NexGen this is actually pretty good, and the interview confirms it. I have a feeling this will be NexGen Equivalents starting based on success. This IS Sim City 1 just made with current tech. There'll probably be a new Sim City 2000 later if they have that "success" Then an SC3000. SC4.... and so on. Just my view on it. "From scratch in this generation of games. Meh, scratch that. I guess. I mean I want a SC42013 and all. But I understand. I just feel like money makers are getting away with things that I raised to see as, well, immoral. Really immoral. I mean do they have to make that much profit? I mean as long as they're making money it should be enough. But it feels like they want to hoard it all and not spend anything for more quality. Just be as cheap as possible, always a way out, and while that is financially sound, it's just not... right? Does this make sense? I expect a we don't live in a perfect world reference, but that reference is realistically disturbing with it's obvious implications. I mean even game companies are evil now? Technically speaking of course. It's like everything is evil now. And that's worrisome. (not literally everything, just, a lot of noticeable things seem to be going that way in my eyes.). But yeah, more to simply the game, I really did hope for more, but if I have to settle, I'll try, if only to give a benefit of the doubt.
  7. This bothers me, The whole point of an SC5 is to be the replacement for SC4, but if the game is "don't like it play SC4", then it isn't really an SC5. I mean really I think they should just change the name a little at least. Then again, I don't see a "5" in the game's officail title, and that leaves room for them to add "SimCity:Online" which would make everything they've done so far make perfect sense to me. not good enough. If I plan all playing SimCity all day long on a Sunday and my internet goes down or their server goes down or they're doing some kind of maintenance or they're hacked...I won't be able to play (or if I want to play on a laptop and don't have internet where I am at all). Why should we have to deal with this for a single-player game? I'll put up with that much, but I understand you, idealistically, I don't like it, but I can put up with it within reason, my whole worry is "renting" game till the end of the server life which afterward all my money was a waste. That right now is what is important to me. Dunno about everyone else, but just playing the game alone over the years, this is actually what I've wanted, a 3D, upgraded, and enhanced, more in depth, more complex, more everything that was and ever could be, SC4.
  8. Simple solution that would make me happy: They can have all the DRM and Online Authentication they want, but only if it's gaurenteed that as soon as Online Support is shelved(terminated) The game will get a patch, update, what have you that will unlock, allow, what have you, offline play forever with no authentications needed after. I hope I typed this right and you understand what I mean.
  9. ILL Tonkso's Review of SimCity

\ So it needs to be hammered now that, maybe not for you, but some of us need offline play with offline saving so we can stay connected to our cities until we decide it's over not EA. Absolutely positively agree with this. If nothing else is fixed, this simple concept is at least what needs to be fixed, then I can at least rest easy on my time and effort and the money spend in the first place. Why pay for something if 6 years down the road I can't use it? Especially if I still WANT to use it?
  10. Antarctic Terrain Mod

It's pretty good and, though I have no current ability to use it, I'm sure someone's gonna plan an expedition.
