  1. High Rocks

I've downloaded all your rocks, stones, driftwood, & etc. All are of highest quality. I often find that your work helps create that perfect mix for realistic, natural scenes. Thanks!! (5/5)
  2. Hideous halfway abandoned concrete slab thing

Soviet era Communism: 1 job to maintain building + 3 supervisors + 56 party members to watch the first 4 and each other = 60 jobs. ;) BTW, thanks.
  3. Paeng's Parks Revisited

I was forced to reinstall all my plugins (long, sad, and completely boring story). Now, the WSP base texture seems to be missing. I installed all the dependencies. I am not using the texture changer (though I have the same problem if I use the WSP2UG one). What am I missing? Is there a newer version somewhere?   BTW, great park system. Great job. Thanks.
  4. Post Modding Requests Here

Is there a way to change default zone size when click-and-holding with a zone tool? E.g. If I choose the IR tool (z) and hold the left mouse button down (Win), I will get a 15x15 zone (if nothing blocks it). Is there a way to increase this default?
  5. ReZonePlus

Hey Fred, Here in the Netherlands rezoning to residential gives you a heck of a heap of money. When you succeed! And when someone will build on it. Nice mod, by the way.     I created a similar mod myself. FrankU got the concept backward. It cost him tons of money to dezone, not the government. Yes, zoning/dezoning costs money, but those costs are generally passed on to the developer, as FrankU discovered. For the city/county/township/whatever, the costs can be minimal. Some places I've lived, it is actually a source of revenue. In which case, to be realistic, you should get income from zoning, but the game is not set up to simulate that reality very well.   Then there is the free electricity comment, to which I say, "true dat." Of course, water, sewer, and power and are not provided by the township I live in. They are provided by regulated private companies which pay the township a fee for the priviledge of providing the citizens with the service. It cost nothing for the township to run power, because it is privatized. Hence, to simulate that reality, Simcity should be paying the mayor for the power lines, pipes, and plants.   Recently the sewer lines under the street I live on were replaced by the water-sewer provider. After, the township repaved the street, but the costs for that repaving were passed along to the water-sewer company. Of course, all those costs were eventually passed on to me. I don't pay it all in taxes, but it is not cheap to live here.   All that to say, when speaking of realism of the simulation, remember that it is just a simulation, and there are many different economic models for local government works. Simcity4 is somewhat flexible, but it is better at simulating some realities than others. The question is not, "Is the simulation realistic?" but, rather, "What reality are we attempting to simulate?"   Sorry for the long post. I got carried away.

Terraformed to orient arrows facing south: also caused crash. Terraformed to orient arrows facing north: OK. In two other cases that I can recall, the arrows were facing west. In one situation, I placed but a few cells away and it was OK. In the second case, I can't seem to find an orientation that works. Thanks for the work around, and thanks again for all your hard work.

  10. NAM General Support

Well done. Well done. Since installing the May 2010 NAM, I have had trouble placing Maxis ferries. The game crashes. Sometimes it works fine, but usually I get the crash. Anyone else have this problem? Any work arounds to suggest? I'm not complaining too much. I've done my share of coding in my day and have some appreciation for all the hard work that's gone into this project. Did I say, "Well done?" Well done and many thanks.
