  1. Mother Nature Plaza

    Version 1.5

    7,214 Downloads

Mother Nature Plaza -- It's another sunny day, you're walking down Central Avenue and you start to feel tired. Suddenly you round the corner and Mother Nature herself is standing before you in all her half-naked glory. Delighted, you find a bench and pop a squat to enjoy the day relaxing amidst downtown skyscrapers. Do you like Plazas? Do you like Mother Nature? Do you just like large statues of women? Then this is the lot for you. Made to fill in those gaps where you just don't want to grow another Maxis office building, Mother Nature will gladly take up the space with her concrete base, designed to be the centerpiece of any city, (or town if you want). Sporting a nice Forest Green skirt, (and nothing else), she'll help remind your sims just how in tune with Nature they can be when relaxing under the sun on a nice cozy bench. In slightly more seriousness, I'm glad I was finally able to BAT a plaza for once after ten or so uploads. This plaza will act like any other park in-game except for like, one or two stats i "tweaked". I'm not sure if I made the statue herself big enough, but I don't want it dominating it's surroundings. So I think this is a nice median. Credit though goes elsewhere for the Female model. I take no credit for it's creation except for small changes such as retexturing, and abide by the source site's terms of use. Source: Artist-3d.com Installation: Once downloaded, extract the folder inside titled "Mother Nature Plaza", and place said folder inside your SimCity4/Plugins folder. It should now appear in your Parks Menu in-game. Uninstallation: Bulldoze all instances of the lot in your city tiles, quit the game, and then remove or delete all files relating to this download from your Plugins folder. It should now be completely removed from your game. Dependencies: None -- Hope you enjoy!
  2. Show Us Your...Newspapers!

Hey there fellow CJers! Everyone has pics of cities, but a good CJ has a newspaper or two! If you make some for your CJ, post em here so people can have a look at what goes on in your world of simcity! Could post a link to said CJ to let em check it out for themselves as well. Here's the latest from mine, Neo Follomer.
  3. Wendy's Restaraunt

    Version 1.0

    15,225 Downloads

Wendy's Fast Food ---------------------------- Found in Anytown, USA Wendy's is an International Fast Food chain founded by Dave Thomas in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio. Wendy's is currently the third largest Burger chain, following McDonalds and Burger King, and takes pride in it's slogan, "Old Fashioned Hamburgers". My 7th BAT, Wendy's is one of my local favorite Burger places. And since the STEX only had three Wendy's related BATs on it, I decided to give it a go and bring SimTropolis a modern suburban Wendy's restaraunt. This download contains a single .SC4MODEL file, and two folders, a CS$ Growwable folder, and a LM Ploppable folder, each has a Lot and DESC file. The ploppable is non-functionable, and is included for those who just want a quickly placed aesthetically pleasing burger joint. However if you want jobs, a low wealth CS-$ version is included, which gives you 259 jobs. If you don't want to use one or the other, just remove the folder you wish not to use, from your plugins, and keep the rest. Both versions have been tested in game and are guaranteed to work properly. If they don't, or there's some problem, please state in the comments. Installation: ------------- Once downloaded, unzip or extract the model file and folders, and place all three items in your plugins folder, preferably in a folder titled "Wendy's" so it's neat and tidy. Uninstallation: --------------- Just remove everything "Wendy's" related from your plugins, and you're set. 4. World's Tallest Tower Planned In Jeddah

A Chicago based team has drawn up the plans for the World's tallest Skyscraper, named the "Kingdom Tower" to be built in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a cosmopolitan port city. This tower will be at least 3,281 feet tall, dwarfing the current tallest, the Burj Khalifa by at least 568 feet. It's slated to be the center piece of the coming Kingdom City, which is a new sprawling urban development that would cost about $20 billion. Let the BATing begin fellas.
  5. (Preview) VI • River of Tears

The he-..c'mon dude what are you doing making awesome natural scenery like that?? Stahp being awesome.   For context, I REALLY love rivers/creeks, and I really like this.
  6. Some Damage

That first image is a little weird because of just the sheer amount of repetition, but the other two images are really beautifully put together. I love that mountain road.
  7. V • Tale of Shikibu

CARLU! Y U MAKE-AH ME A RED DEVILU?   I wont even get started in fawning over your obviously better than everyone's skill in-game. Y U MAKE US LOOK BAD?   That all was my stupid speech for: Awesome job Carl. :P
  8. 15: Miketon's Growth Spurt

Hello again. Miketon had a growth spurt. It was messy, teeny bit gross and icky but just like everyone's horrible adolescent years the city is starting to steadily grow into itself. Quick note, my highways and elevated railways were successful! Obviously, tons of Maxis. Most times its not a bad thing. Buuuut... North. East. South. I love this part more so, just cause of the highway winding up the hillside. West. The city center where the highway T's west, east and south. I love the clustered look to this. The overpasses, the railway. Not showing the trains yet, I forgot I didn't have a skin plugin for it, Maxis ones are fugly. And the city Hospital, currently charging 5,500 patients up the bum for healthcare cause this is a capitalist city. The city tile houses over 83,000 sims as of current. The region is around 97,000 due to the other town Feyre.
  9. Folland [USNW]

Folland The Forum version of the Folland CJ! The Folland Republic is a Non-Earth nation, currently enrolled in the United Sovereign Nations of the World, a Simcity Union with it's own planet named Adonia. Folland occupies a continent similar to North America both in climate and culture, however Folland is a nation descending from a Scandinavian colony, Adonia's equivalent to Norway. In the USNW roleplay, Folland is 285 years old since Independence day in 1728. Folland is essentially Follomer's baby. I truly do miss journaling Follomer and making it's story, and I regret not giving it a proper finale before jumping into a new country, but I've been having a blast with Folland and I effectively have started a new "Era" in my city journaling. Folland also exists in the City Journals section of SimTropolis and can be found right here. Table of Contents
  10. 14: Miketon! Work in Progress

Glad you're enjoying it!   I went rummaging in one of the japanese websites that SimTrop has listed, there should be a thread on here with a list of japanese sc4 sites where you can find BATs that aren't on the STEX or LEX.
  11. 14: Miketon! Work in Progress

Building a new large city on a large tile takes a ton of effort, patience, and thinking. I'm busting my bum on sections of road here and there alone! This is probably why I always do small towns, they can be done within 2-5 hours. Big cities? I'm spending days, weeks on these suckers. I've already spent well over half a day on this new tile I've decided to start. Making my next big city! What it is, though, is just a random. I've called it Miketon as a placeholder, and it's on a region that isn't suitable for my CJ Union canon. So what do I do with it? Maybe it's just a for-fun project, or maybe I'll forget about the region it's on and just say it's in Folland. But for now, I'm building it, and it's nowhere near done, but I'll show off the progress. As you can see I've gone all out with mass transit compared to my usual design. I've made extensive use of the MHW, creating a beltway around downtown and then branching it off west, east, and south into adjacent tiles. Also, included are four lines of Elevated Rail that run through, as well as the typical Bus system. I am not going to touch Subway with a nine inch pole. Here I had to make due with a raise in terrain. I decided to be fancy with the avenue, and then I thought about putting something here for drivers to see as they go up and down the hill. Then boom, office space in a nook on the hillside. At the bottom is a small reservoir. No big city is complete without a sports field. Baseball and Football/Soccer are covered, with ample parking. Using a Japanese BAT for the city's main Primary/High school for the inner city. The city's convention center, always a must to have. Easy access to the freeway and rail. And the hospital, it was the first thing I built on the tile. Again easy access to the freeway and rail system there's also a park for people to relax at. Might have gone overkill with the garage. But I'm just absolutely loving the dense urban look this is taking on. The presence of the Elevated Rail is only making the city look that much better and I can't wait to see it in use when everything is developed.
  12. april 1st Green roofs mod

You obviously didn't catch on to the overabundant sarcasm.
  13. 13: Hinali City Pretties

Hinali's on it's last legs simcity-wise. There's not much else I can do with the tile now that it has prop pox and has been saved over so many times. So here's a few pretties I took of the tile when I was on. I wanted to make the waterfront similar to Manhattan. Gleaming towers right along the shore. Then it gets dreary over at the Capitol building. Dunno why people are enjoying the plazas, being soaked and all. Silly simcity. And then a night time overview of the tile. I turned up the contrast to make it truly look like night. Comparing this city to Follomer's capital, I think I prefer Follomer's more. Oh well, maybe there'll be another city in the future.
  14. Antarctica Thawed - Reload

Nice. The shape gives a nice island to play on, and even though many of us just want a region full of large tiles, it's rather simple to change this in mapper. Thanks for the map.
  15. I don't know how known this terrain mod is as I've only found it over on the LEX, but by all means it's a gorgeous little mod. Works great. That said, it's reminiscent of crack. My game is having withdrawals for some reason. After deciding to remove the terrain mod from the plugins folder, the game crashed to the desktop when attempting to load a city tile. Doesn't matter which city tile it is. I've tried several tiles on different regions, all cause a CTD. Now if I place the terrain mod back in, game runs peachy. I've tried removing my beach mod, my tree controller, a few terrain dependency files. I still cannot load a city tile without the mod in-game. Am I forced to do a fresh re-install?

  17. april 1st Green roofs mod

I seriously believed this to be real. My hopes were placed so high. It took me two days to find out the truth.   You broke my heart.   I no longer wish to play.   Life is blackness.   There is no meaning.   I am empty inside.   Forever hurt.
  18. Show us your Apartment Complexes

I put this through Lot Editor to make a bona fide apartment complex to reality's standards. I no longer have the lot file though.
  19. Folland [USNW]

A dark day for Folland. The military is set loose on it's own countrymen to curb anti-government protests and riots that turned destructive and violent. Many say the situation could have been handled better, but unfortunately a terrible leader was sitting in the big chair at the moment and refused to be reasoned with. Military vehicles and tanks travel along an inter-province highway to their destination. It's pretty much martial law at this point. Comin down yo' streets, snatching yo' people up. Hide yo' kids, hide yo' wife.
  20. Show us your Downtown!

Small city. Nice shape, quite reminiscent of the real deals that I've seen. I like it. @APSMS: So you're the one behind all that damage. I'll leave you the bill. I just used any military jet I could quickly find on Sketchup, plus the A-10's quite famous anyway.
  21. Folland [USNW]

I've decided to play catch up. I've been away from ST for a while but I've still be adding images to my showcase over at the USNW forum. I might as well add them here as well for others to see since the USNW is still kind of obscure. These are in no way "perfect" or pretty or in any kind of fashionable form as other more organized CJs are. I haven't had the will or urge to create a bona fide CJ Update. So, lets look at the snippets. This is an overview of the city tile that featured "Mosaic Flight". Here it's not as pretty, but show's most of everything on the tile. Next, is downtown Hinali, my nation's capital city. Currently the tile has been subjected to Prop Pox and thus is no longer playable, so it remains as is until the day I decide to scrap it. It is pretty decent though. It has 107,000 sims on the tile. A glamor shot, showing off a helicopter I modeled myself. More to come.
  22. Mass Effect: Beyond | Episode #75

Welcome to the Best SciFi CJ club, we have chips and dip.
  23. Show us your Downtown!

Well, it IS my downtown. Seems someone lit a small fire.
  24. NAM General Support

I'd like to just note my finding with the latest version. Somehow; and even tinkering with NAM files didn't answer my bafflement, the new NAM is overriding parts of the Tar-sealed streets mod.
  25. IV • In Rough Waters

So this is what that image you shared was for. You sure do well with historical imagery Carl.   Should I fear you a little more in our canon?
