So I thought I'd turn an old city that I made back in early 2012 into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Here's what used to be a downtown sunken highway, now flooded and overgrown. The embankments and overpasses crumble, creating new safe havens for animals. A "behind the scenes" of this little microcosm. Hope I didn't ruin the mosaic above by posting this.

Thanks everyone. Bombardiere: These ones in particular were built as luxury apartments and have become even more luxury. I don't dare look at real estate listings. Here it is in google streetview https://goo.gl/maps/n37lp . The two I've been showing at 15/16 Warwick. There will be a few other sets from that block, and the end rowhouse is the building on the left (west) end of the block. The facades occasionally bump out, and this aspect will not be recreated in order to maintain a flat streetwall at the standard 1.6 m setback. Sadly this means that the front porches will be significantly squashed in. Right now the porches extend 3 m out from the facade. Part of this will be done by shifting pieces over, and some of it will be done by scaling the entire porch in the one dimension.

Thank you all, guys SimCoug, I have no idea how to make a diagonal building, but I'll try to learn it. Last couple days I was working hard in Magnolia Building. Classes will be back soon, then I'm just getting ahead in all the projects.

The Dresden GS(Generating Station) is a major coal-fired power plant owned and operated by the PRPA(Pretoria Regional Power Authority) a publicly owned electrical utility company which owns and operates a total of 11 power plants in and around the Pretoria Metropolitan Area. Dresden GS is by far the largest of PRPA's power plants with a total nameplate capacity of 2,240MW. When operating at peck capacity the plant produces almost 50% of Pretoria's electric supply, enough power for 1.2 million people. The plant is located on the East side of the Dresden Port District. Phase One Prior to the plants construction most of the electricity supplied to Pretoria came from 3 medium sized hydroelectric stations and an antiquated coal power plant all of which were located in the Central Pretoria. Together these 4 plants - Holyrood(Coal) GS - 335MW, Noirwater1 - 294MW, Noirwater2 - 190MW & Evermore1 - 118MW), along with a couple of other small stations produced a little over 1,000MW. This was more than enough for the region's 400,000 residents back in the mid 1940's. However at the start of the 50's the city entered into a prolonged period of growth and expansion. With its population and economy expanding by nearly 8% per yearly it quickly became evident that power demand would outstrip supply in matter of years. A site was quickly selected on the south side of Cisco Bay and 18 hectares of land near Dresden's booming port was earmarked for the thermal-electric plant that would meet Pretoria's seemingly insatiable growing power demands. Construction began in May 1951 and quickly became a project of superlatives: The stations first boilers were the largest ever installed in the nation; the 380,000 kilowatt Parsons G2-5A generators were the largest available and the stations power transformers were the largest in the world. Each of the boilers was paired with a brick-line smokestack, both towering 465ft(142m) over the surround landscape which made them the tallest structures in Dresden at the time. A new hydro interconnection was built consisting of the Hardack, Tauon & Muon hydro corridors and the Hillsboro & Enforce transmission substation through which electricity was directed around Cisco Bay to Central Pretoria. The total cost of this project was $148 million. The station was formerly commissioned and put into service on Aug 13, 1954. Almost instantly regional capacity nearly doubled from 1,050MW to 1,810MW. It was much needed since by then the power situation had become so desperate that the government had to implement rolling blackouts two months beforehand. Though these only effected the outlying(and less affluent) areas of the growing metropolis. Dresden Generation Station, circa Jan 1955 But Dresden GS's story does not end here. Phase Two Regional growth would continued unabated over the next 10 years. By 1960 it was clear that additional units would be needed. A study concluded that year indicated the plant would reach maximum capacity within 10 years and another 1,000 MW of electricity would be needed within 25 years. This time the government did not wait around and quickly authorized the PRPA to building additional generation capacity. And so in early 1962 construction on phase two of the station began. Part of Cisco Bay, directly west of Units 1&2 was backfilled and Unit's 3 & 4 were built on the new landfill. The coal stockpile was moved to the west side of the plant and expanded. A new much larger docking facility was also built. Coal imports would increase by 125% from an average of 400 tons per day to 900. The amount delivered by ships would increase from 40% to over 90%. In Aug 1965 Units 3 & 4 were completed and placed online. Two Parsons G5-9S generators with a capacity of 500,000 kilowatt's, once again the largest available at that time were installed. And the Hardack, Tauon & Muon hydro corridors were all expanded with a second set of electric pylons. The new boilers were of a far more efficient design and were each paired with a 600 foot tall(183m) smokestack. The two new stacks again assumed the title of Dresden's tallest structure until the KIRO TV tower(609ft/186m) was build on Mount Tokiko in 1971. Dresden Generation Station, circa 1975 After the completion of units 3 & 4 total nameplate capacity of the plant rose from 760MW to an impressive 1,760MW. Phase two had a total cost of $226 million and when completed made Dresden GS the world's largest power plant, a title it would hold on to for the next 15 years(1965-79). Modernization Project By the late 1980's the original units of the plant were approaching the 40 year mark and nearing the end or their life expectancy. These units were operating at less then 30% thermal efficiency and were under powered for their size. The station was a major source of pollution and smog in the Pretoria air shed. With the oldest units dating back to the 1950s, the plant was ranked 3rd on the national list of dirtiest power plants in terms of sulphur dioxide emissions per megawatt-hour of electrical energy produced. Overall it was by far the largest generator of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other particulates in the entire region. Dresden GS's old Unit 1 & 2, only used for peak load purposes by the late 80's. In 1989 after after Baycole GS and the new transcontinental hydro corridor were built, phase one of the plant containing the Units 1 & 2 underwent a 1.6 billion dollar modernization program. The original boilers, turbines and generators were all replaced in the 6-year long project. Low NOx burners and electrostatic precipitators where also added at the time. Two new Dynamic Electric T-1000 generators, each producing 620,000 kilowatts, were installed increasing the total generating capacity by 27% to 2,240MW. The two boilers were marred to a single new 1,001-foot tall(305m) superstack built to vent pollution high above the local air shed. The original brick line stacks were taken out of service, however they were not demolished because they were connected to the buildings superstructure. The super stack greatly reduced local pollution levels because not only did it replace the two shorter stacks of Unit's 1 & 2 but Unit's 3 & 4 with its shorter stacks would transition into more of a peak load role. The superstack is currently the tallest in the region, being a single foot taller then the ICON smelters "Big White" just across the Bay. Units 1 & 2 today The superstack took 6 months to complete and contains nearly 25,000 tons of concrete. It is currently the the 8th tallest smokestack on planet Azura and the tallest structure in the city of Dresden/the South Shore borough, overtaking the 839ft (256m) tall WBNS TV tower built in 1985. Dresden GS is connected to the PRPA's(Pretoria Regional Power Authority) operations center via direct microwave link. The transmitter/receiver is located on the 280m level of the superstack. Direct links to both Hillsboro TS & Enforce TS are also located on there. Tip of the stack In the shadow of giants Rising above it all Cooling Systems Two 270ft tall cooling towers were added to the east side of the plant as part of the upgrade to units 1 & 2, dramatically reducing the plants thermal pollution. All of the waste heat generated by the plant was at one time released into Cisco Bay. This water is used in large condensers to cool the used steam back to its liquid form. Prior to the construction of the cooling tower the plant withdrew more than 50 million gallons of water per hour for cooling needs at peak load. Today Units 1 & 2 operate using a new closed loop system. Units 3 & 4 continue to use the once-through system. Withdrawal levels have been reduced to 30 million gallons of water per hour at peak load when all units are in operation. However Units 3 & 4 only operate on a peak load basis, usually between the hours of 6am and 8pm for an average of 14 hours per day, while the newly replaced Units 1 & 2 are used for base load purposes. The closed loop system of Units 1 & 2 withdraw only a fraction of the amount of water they used to, approx. 1 million gallons per hour. This means that the plants actual average hourly withdrawal rate is much lower coming in at around 18 million gallons per hour. The intake and outlet structures Coal Supply Western coal is delivered to Dresden via ocean going 100,000-ton freighters. Shipments of coal regularly arrive at the Dresden GS docking facility The plant coal pile is relatively small for a plant of this size with a maximum capacity of 0.75 megatons. This is nonetheless sufficient to provide for about 40 days of operation at maximum load Coal is feed into the plant by a series of conveyor belts either directly off anchored bulk carriers next to the pier or from the coal stockpile Typical mix of the coal batch is 90% western 10% eastern. Eastern coal has a higher energy content but has greater emissions so its use is limited. Eastern coal is delivered by rail on unit trains to an unloading facility on the "coal spur" which branches off GWR's mainline Almera sub Connections to power grid The plant is connected to the power grid by 4 double circuit 250 kV transmission lines, also owned and regulated by the PRPA. Two lines travel eastward merging with a third from the nearby Bunsen Burner Waste to Energy plant to form the Hardack hydro corridor. Most of Dresden GS's power flows on this interconnection towards the Middle East and Central districts. Two other 250kV lines travel southward on the Zelfor hydro corridor providing power to the South Shore borough and creating an interconnection with other power plants located south of Pretoria. The Switchyard at Dresden GS, looking east The Switchyard looking west, obscured by the mist from the cooling towers Overview of the Plant Today Units 1 & 2 Units 3 & 4 Currently Dresden GS is currently the third largest coal-fired plant in the nation and the 16th largest electric plant overall on planet Azura. This complex is one of my 3 favorite creations that I've made in SC4. Hope you enjoyed checking it out

Hello, Neonsim here. Alot of you may remember me, i think, to the new comers welcome to my Recreation of Tokyo Japan using Google Earth, I say recreation because i'm recreating all of it, The 23 major wards, Railways, Freeways, small cities and towns inside of the Metropolitan Area of Tokyo. all the Way to Tokyo Bay and the Haneda international Airport. this is going to take a long time to finish...years really, but i've got a great start...and lucky for me, the outskirts of Tokyo...are just Residential houses and schools... where as the center is the Grit and girth of office buildings...residential towers and etc. So with out further ado, it has been quite awhile CJ readers and bloggers, i have not been on the CJ in some time, iv'e been so busy with other things in my life plus my sim city 4 not being able to load my region which was absolutely devastating as this CJ has taken so long to make and still is today and still have so long to go in the future, but now that i can finally access it, i am more excited then ever to bring you the most detailed and realistic recreation of the whole of Tokyo that i can possibly manage, from Shibuya...to Shinjuku and everything in between, i have already been ,mapping out roads, highways and rail ways around the map, as you will see in the Transportation overview, I have been working on separate areas rather then staying in one place only seeing as how the city is so large. In this update i will be showing updates on my Akihabara, Aka electric town, Akihabara 秋葉原!Imperial Palace and Shidome, roppongi. But first a Transportation and satailite overview. Here you can see i have been connecting the freeways and railways of the Tokyo region, Center is the imperial gardens which i am currently working on at the moment, The purple rail line you see is the Yamanote line that runs from the south of tokyo to the Akihabara Station and onwards, (Imperial gardens is the lastest Green land in Tokyo behind Yoyogi park and Shinjuku Gyoen International Gardens, The imperial grounds also feature Nippon Budokan, a collesium like Tokyo Dome. I have to move the Ginza, as Ginza is right under the Main Yamanote Station in the Imperial palace area in Chiyoda. A Satalite Image. These two pictures are from late 2014, to keep you in suspense, I have finished alot more than what you see now it's a surprise though Imperial Palace and Gardens. Tokyo Japan. This is what i currently have for the Imperial Gardens area, i terraformed out the River system(still needs some smoothing work) but got the length and width correct going by how large the actual avanues are in real life, at the top Left you can see the Yamanote line which will also feature the Yamanote Ginza Station. In the lower Center You can see the Green Nippon Budakon Collesium, This area is located in the ward of Chiyoda. A close up of Budakon. Nippon Budakon and the Innercular Toll Road, apart of the C1 loop from shinjuku. A close up of the palace and the inner grounds. I tried to get these areas as close to possible on a real life scale, i find using Google Earth 3d view...is extremely helpful for this. I still have to add gardens and a lake within the grounds, It's amazing how this massive oasis is nothing but a pebble in the urban chaos and concrete jungle of Tokyo. Shidome Skyline, Tokyo Japan. Here is small update of the Shibuya outter area which includes shidome, Roppongi and etc. the highway you see snaking through is the C2 outter toll road. Downtown with the super cool ative shidome tower.(right) Shinjuku Skyline, Tokyo Japan. Some pictures of Shinjuku downtown(Skyline) just for good measure. The freeway you see by the Shinjuku park tower(the building with 3 towers together in the top left) is called C1 inner loop, which snakes it's way through shinjukugocomae, the massive station you see at the bottom middle is Shinjuku station. which takes millions of passengers a day. The complex to the left with the UI bubble is the Eastern Japan Railway HQ. Fun fact, there are over (Try counting all the buildings in this picture.) it's almost dizying how many there are, puts you in a mini culture shock. Akihabara!! And a storm trooper, with a guitar. AKIHABARA!!! My hands down favorite area of Tokyo, All of the Anime, Manga, Games, and just any kind of Electronic you can find in general can be found here. Zoomed out. The Rail line you see is the Yamanote line, (coming from the middle down to the main Station in the right (Akihabara Station) The Three main towers you see are part of the Aki Cross feild Complex(Akihabara Crossfeild UDX) home to Many, many, many Animation studios, a animation university, and a high school. the massive Building in the back is the Akihabara Yodobashi akiba, the largest Electronics store in the world. On the main strip, you can see many familiar Akihabara buildings, such as LAOX, sega arcade, Taito game station, AOKI, Shonsen tower, Don Quijote, Animate and many many more.My otaku Sims love them very much. The buildings and streets are point and square where they are located in real life, Again...thanks to the 3d view on Google Earth(A life saver) zoomed in. Night I don't remember the name of the Lighting mod i used for Day and night, But it's amazing. I'm telling you right now, working on this Recreation and CJ has just been an absolutely amazing and incredible experience, Recreating one of the largest cities on earth in fine detail is no Easy task not by any long shot. I could have aproached this with something that looks similar, but no, I want Tokyo down to fine details in different wards. Well that's all for now, thank you for reading, please be sure to rate and Follow, as i have Much more to show you.

"No, I have forgotten nothing, but even the dead and the victims will rise from the grave at your call. We will all rise, and not I alone" - Olga Berggolts, about her Motherland 5/5/1941 - Smolny Institute serves as headquarters for the Soviet Party in Leningrad. All important members of the city council have their offices in the building, and the defense of the city is directed from here. Thank you What kind of farmhouses you have in mind? I was thinking about some stately plantation houses... we would need to chat about the details. (Some pictures would be good :)) Thank you! Thank you I'm still working on textures. Thank you! Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment! Thank you And true, you don't see buildings of this size in traditional style anymore. And while you`re on it,maybe look for mine too, okay? The new Renderings of Hotel Penn look amazing and mind-boggling.I can really get a Feeling how big this Behemoth must be.I wonder how many "richer than rich" Multistory Condos you can fit in there (you know, because NYC currently is hooked on Condomni-fication...stupid Wordplay,i know) About what Toothless Stitch says with the grime,i think maybe two Versions might be a fun Idea, one in the newly build or freshly renovated state it is in your current Renderings and one with the grimey dirty Facade it is now (or at least how it looks on many newer Pictures) I guess making the Roof will be one of the hardest Jobs right?I checked it out with Google Maps and there is so much Junk,Grime and different Materials and Roof "Textures" on it. About your other Project, that "Not a Museum"-Thingy...how about a Hint?Maybe where it`s located or what purpose it is or something like that.... Keep up the great Work Buddy. Thank you! I'm not sure about two versions, I mean the hotel will have winter version too so making another set of textures will be a lot of work. I'm inclined toward making the current textures a bit dirty, not much, just to make the building look a few years old. As for the roof itself - I'm making the version from mid 20's, so the third and forth "arms" of the building will be empty (actually, I'm thinking about making the addition on the third arm but I'm afraid it will obscure view of the greenhouse of the second arm). There weren't any HVAC units back then on the roof. Yes A little white-marble gem Ok, time for update. I remember saying once to Aaron that this building isn't that complicated. Well, I take it back, the roof itself is as complicated as they get. But I have most of it done, all that's left are skylights and of course the greenhouse.

Thank you And no, it's not a museum Keep guessing I know, I sory It's just that that sometimes work on big buildings becomes tedious and I need to work on something small... Municipal Building will probably be finished as last (from my ongoing projects), Hotel Pennsylvania has the highest priority now Thanks! Thank you Not really ... Ok, so, I've been working hard on Hotel Pennsylvania those last few days. Here's how it looks for now: As you can see modeling is done in about 75%. I have to model buildings on the roof and all the small utility buildings in the lower part of the hotel (not the courts, I finished modeling work in there ). I'm quite happy with textures of brick and stone. I will add (probably) a bit of grime to the stone but that's all. And as a bonus: HD Render

MushyMushy: Thank you Toothless: that's a good tip. __B: Thank you. Actually it's not texturized yet, I just did it to Pegasus because it would be weird all white So, I finally released Porthos, you can see it here: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/30727-porthos-building/ As I said once here, it's a bit wider because I wanted to do it exactly 2x2, but the height is the same. I said I would start to texturize Magnolia Building but last 3 days I was having problem exporting Porthos so I still have to start it, but I have news about the model. It's 100% modeled (the arch is not in this preview but it's done here anyway), and Reddonquixote did this amazing sculpture of the building. HD and zoom 5.

Hey, thank you for your work, and sry for the long disappearance, to much real life atm But the buildings will have the same props right? Even if so, that sounds like it will spare me quite some time. I do have a question regarding corner buildings though. For all my previous ones, I simply used the vanilla templates. Right now Im working on an american low residential theme. I used buildings from the workshop as templates for the lowresidental corner buildings from Level 1-3, but there are no Level 4-5 ones. There has to be a way to change a building into a corner building, I got ModTools and searched for roughly an hour for a fitting variable, but its maybe easyer to just ask here, as there are very good modders around. So far, I got: Level1 (planned for 1-2 story buildings): 2x2 Corner 2 different 2x2 Row 1x2 Filler Level 1 Level 2 (planned for 2 story buildings): 2x2 Corner (Same building as Level 1) 2 different 2x2 Row (Same building as Level 1) 1x2 Filler (Same building as Level 1) Level 3 (planned for 3 story buildings): 2x2 Corner 2x3 Row 1x3 Filler Here is a screenshot:

One can probably get a better feel for the theme I'm aiming for now. Used about 10-12 Google images of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean store-front signage as well as a Toyota advert. Those who played games back in the day my take notice of the Atari logo and anime fans won't have to look hard for stuff either. Still have a few more hours of signage to go before I move on to other areas of the picture that are not shown here. Shadows are of course the last step so those are still missing. As far as cars are concerned I'm probably going to mostly use the VIP stuff, various Japanese sets, and a few of my own creations. The Japanese building that's in the center of the frame also needs some roughening up as its texture is far too smooth to fit the theme; the beach still needs some life as well... As tedious as it may be, making creative roads that aren't possible in-game is actually pretty fun.

@kingofsimcity amazing shot! Everyone can appreciate a little microcosm. I dug up some pictures of a little city that I was working on named Carlisle. Completely lotted in Lot Editor. Every single, building. I mad good progress. But my files are on the other side of the country so I had to start over. On the left side, there's a train terminal and also another one on the right side. I had a central business area going with some monuments on the West side of the city and east side. Kind of going for a London/American city feel. sadly, I had to start from scratch. I always start with a skeleton and a rough idea of how I want the city. I'm just afraid it won't amount to what I had before. But I'm sure it will be even better. I even created custom textures. In due time.

At Gamescom 2015, Paradox have announced the first expansion for Cities: Skylines. It will feature a much requested day & night cycle, new specialization, service and transportation options: Will you construct a bustling city that lives and breathes at night or will your city succumb to the perils and misadventures of night life? You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control. The sky is the limit! Find out what life is like in the city when the sun goes down! Main features Day and Night Cycle: Day and night changes in the city and affects citizen schedules. Traffic is visibly slower at night and some zoned areas do not work with full efficiency, further easing the traffic. Service vehicles move around as usual. A free update for all users. Leisure specialization: Commercial areas can specialize in leisure activities. Leisure areas are especially active during the night, but work like regular commercial areas during the day. Beach specialization: Commercial areas such as beach bars and restaurants, small marina and fishing tours on the shoreline can specialize in beach activities. Expanded City Services: Criminals will now be taken to Prison from Police buildings. Taxi service will help citizens and tourists travel around the city. Cargo hubs are harbors that accept cargo trains straight to the terminal. International airport is a huge airport, allowing much more traffic than the previous airport. It has a metro station attached to it. Bus terminal allows citizens to transfer to other bus lines in the terminal building. New transportation options: Bikes and dedicated bike lanes and bike ways let citizens opt for a faster alternative to walking. Bus lanes can be used to help the public transportation run smoother. Buildings usually are not rendered in HD, but I'll think about that. And yes, that's a piece of modern art just next to the building. Magnolia Building is now 99% modeled and the roof more detailed. I just need to add more details to Pegasus tower and model a bridge in the building, but it will be fast I think. I want to start to texture tomorow. I'll show a picture from Pegasus just to illustrate, because actually I have a question. I'm already thinking about the nightlights and need to ask what you think the best illumination. Before or nowadays. There's the possibility for two versions, but if most of you prefer one of them I won't waste time rendering twice Day scene so far (zoom 5 and HD):

Thanks guys! Oakland Tribune is done. I just need to get the screenshots for the STEX. I have to figure out what to do though, because in the past I've made the main screenshot the same dimensions as how the image will display on the STEX. And every time the STEX changes all of my images are the wrong size. And now with the latest conversion they're all the wrong size, and there are multiple sizes/aspect ratios. So I guess I'll just do a tightly cropped zoom 5 screenshot and let the STEX deal with it, even though most of the time you're just going to see the middle of the building? In the meantime though is a project that I think people will be excited about. It's a set of London terrace housing. There will be a few variation of mid-block terraces, plus corner terraces. Here's a current preview render: Still quite WIP.

Btw, you told about you start BATing and yesterday I just deleted my plugins folder to start it again, and when I was downloading your stuff I just realized you will complete amazing 10 years BATing in a month!! We have to make a party! I'll add two more projects now. I started Magnolia Hotel, from Dallas, and Toothless suggestion Centro Administrativo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, from Porto Alegre, Brazil. Click in the images to see them full-sized. 220 South Central Park, is a skyscraper currently under-construction in Midtown Manhattan. on 58th W between 7th and 8th. This building will be part of the new skyline of New York (along with the Nordstrom in the same area). This file contains only the tallest structure of the complex (including 2 buildings, one measuring 952ft (290m - 66floors) and another one smaller, located on the central park south lane, (not included in this file). I recently switched to 3ds Max, and this building I made for my own use a year ago has been realized with Gmax. I have decided to relase it here considering some of you would like to get it in game and in the same way, uploading one of the last BAT i did with Gmax. The file is a 2x4 tiles lot, functionning as a ploppable landmark with a high value for the surrounding area where you will plop it. Install: copy/extract the NYBT parent folder into your plugins*. If you extracted the _Documents folder into your plugins, too, it's highly recommended to keep it, but move it out of the Plugins folder. *Install only either NYBT Parisian 220 Central Park South v1 or NYBT Parisian 220 Central Park South v2, since both of the versions has the same model TGI, one would override the other. Enjoy comment and mark Ps : I m still working along with the NYBT, but now learning on 3ds Max and need a little time to come back with correct model. update 29.07.2022 Tyberius06: re-uploaded the two versions, clearly signed which version is which one

Unfinished factory zone. I was forced to use modified chemical tanks due to a severe pollution bug that caused air and water pollution to skyrocket to insane levels.

I've been soooo busy with work and real life the past couple of weeks so I've not had a lot of opportunities to load the game. In the time I have had I've been lotting and creating a new railway depot incorporating a maintenance and train washing area for Perseus Rail's commuter trains. This depot will be located within a semi-industrial area which is home to some distribution centres/warehouses as well as high-tech industry and research facilities. It'll be my first foray into the creation of 'industrial areas' so I'm still learning and experimenting. Here's just a small teaser of the railway depot......more to come though

Haha thankyou, it's great to be back! Now that my region is all forested in all the right places, it's time to start building the city... (open in a new tab for the best experience) And a close up of the CBD at its current state:

A simple, lovely cloverstack with a loop on one of the ramps due to slope constrictions. I use a pretty severe slope restriction mod to add to realism. I'm actually really happy the way this one turned out.

Toothless Stitch - is the power of gmax like the power of Greyskull? SimCoug - yeah, the upper right shape is neat, it has a great old style classic feel. Though the modeling was easy, the texturing has proven to be laborious. Plus dropping in the details has taken a bunch of time. It's based off a building I found online, though i took some liberties with the color scheme and ground floor. Here it is with some detail work done, but far from finished... TWrecks - the last, fast one is indeed a copy of a reference in my swipe file. I tweaked the ground floor a little bit, and added a little "marquee" for the entrance, but the rest of its humdrum boring nature is a direct inspiration.

Made some more improvements to the Alicante suburb of Boswell. This time I remembered to turn the shadows on, which adds some depth to the image, making it look a lot better.

So little free time to BAT. Had a few hours to finally work in some details and textures on this one. Partly inspired by a dumpy little office building in my swipe file. Not looking forward to the nightlights...

Thanks for your reply art128; as for your pipeline suggestion I don't think it is warranted. This is a small oil refinery you see. [-----------------------------------------------] Update 91: City Snapshots Annuq is virtually finished. I just have to create a few more fields and then it is done! For now here are some snapshots around various areas of the city detailing its different areas and moods. Finally there is a mosaic from the city outskirts to the city centre to get you all slobbering... /// The start of the M134, one entrance onto the intercity highway in Annuq. In the heart of Downtown. A towering skyscraper rises out from its W2W city block. Shopping sprawl and suburban sprawl. Where thriving industry and wasteland meet. Farmers market. Supermarket! Ronley Green- a place for the wealthy middle-class and the rich to live in. /// From the city outskirts- -to the city centre. /// Well, I hope you enjoyed that.

T-interchange craze, whoooo! I think this is probably close to the tightest you can go. The tile stability is pretty awesome! I'm also enjoying the smoother curves on the single tile networks. I can finally use the L1 and L2 diagonals now without going crazy. Also please ignore the "I have no idea what I'm doing" railroad.

cmdp:Sweet, another NYC in the Works. It seems you`re using another City Tile Layout than me.Unfortunately Central Park was cut of 3 Tiles on the West Side which seemed like no big Deal to me until i noticed that now important Buildings like Madison Square Garden and New York Times can`t be placed...I left it that Way because i already worked too much on it. The Area around Central Park looks already very good to me,every Building is at it`s Place. Are there already some Closeups for the Residential Zones? Keep up the good Work.It might take long to finish NYC but it will be worth it. citycowboy: That`s an amazingly detailed City Grid.Is it based on a real City or just out of your Imagination? Ganaram:Oh yes,i always felt like SC 4 could use a modern UI.Always wanted something like SC2013 UI but your`s looking way better.Do i also see new Zoning Tile Textures? Sweet! Okay,i`m still working on my current Region and i`m currently concentrating on the Area around Central Park NYC.Billionaires Row on South Central Park is almost done and as the first time ever,i tried MMP Water.I choosed JRJ`s transparent Plop Water because i like the Idea of decorating under Water and many non transparent Plop Waters just look like splotches of Paint dropped over the Map. I started small and tried to copy the general shape of Central Parks "The Pond".Well i guess i missed the Goal here but i think it is still a prety nice Pond.... A sunken boat: Grand Army Plaza at Night: NYBT Member Parisian uploaded a new NYC Skycraper a few Days ago and of course i had to place it on the right Spot. It`s the future 220 South Central Park Tower which faces mostly the 58th Street.Only the smaller 17 Story Addition will face Central Park.

Hey all, this is Fairview, the city that I've been working on since I had to reinstall the game after the 1.0.7 patch. It only has 60.000 inhabitants, partially because I bulldozed half of the city (the oldest part) a while ago because I didn't like the look of it, and partially because I tend to leave lots of open spaces between buildings which I fill up with pedestrian pathways, parks, parking lots and other decorative assets. This is the port section, connected to the city with highways and tracks.

The Betax Complex is just North East of Annuq's oil refinery and contains a mixture of manufacturing and resource processing industries. /// Batex Complex. Batex coal-fired power station. A few shops and retail outlets besides Batex Complex. A small water treatment plant. The start of Canary Docks. The South corner of Canary Docks. The remains of a levelled food processing plant complex. A few structures still remain though. The site is mainly used as dumping ground. Blue Cherry pond to the right.
