Now, on to Red River. This is over on the far east side of the city, just about outside of the city limits. Not much has been developed yet, as you can see by all the farmland, but big plans are in the works for this area. Do stay tuned for that! Over by Muskaseepee Park and Windermere, this is the latest development to go up in Red River. Features lots of big box stores and the like. Just another angle.

Welcome back guys! I've got a multi part update in store for you today. Facing pressure from all sides, I've buckled and have decided to show off various commercial areas around the towns. I do think commercial is my weak point, so don't expect much. Now enough of my babbling.. off we go! On the southern side of the valley, this is one of the larger commercial areas in the city. Right by the terrace park.. I think I've shown a few of this area before as well. Just a little further south, nearly out of...

Its update time! Lets take a peek over at Windermere Heights! The "main drag" of Windermere Heights. The water tower is more for look than any real purpose, at this point. But it can still be used as a backup water supply for the town in a time of drought etc. Housing around the park. ...which also features a local elementary school. Plans are in place for Windermere Heights Phase 2 which will see development around the rest of the park and expanding south. Here's Windermere Heights as it stands at the...

Surprise! Just a quick little update and a teaser for what's coming next week. Here's the eastern corner of Muskaseepee park! There are plans for a large playground to go in somewhere in this area. Likely, that's where the unfinished bike path will eventually lead. As for now, it goes into a nice quiet wooded area. Here's the pond that centers the park. The benches along the path have become quite popular as locals stop along their way to enjoy the nesting geese and ducks that make their homes here. The...

Whoo.. I think I'm a little rusty at this.. well, its been far too long. I had some pretty major RLS with work and all that, but hopefully I'll be able to produce an update a week for the next while. So.. why am I still blabbing. Iit's update time! Here's a new park! Ashboro Park, it's still sort of under construction, the town is staging the building of it. Being cheap and not wanting to build it all at once and all that. You know the drill I'm sure. At the "peak" of the park sits the new Red River Public...

Apologies for my late update.. Real life got in the way and after that cleared up this update took far far too long to prepare. But worry not, as I am confident every single one of you will be more than impressed with this update. In fact, I think you will be shocked. Amazed. In awe, so to speak. This update is the definition of this CJ and its creator (me, naturally). It personofies what this CJ is all about. In time, I stand my by my belief that this update will be heralded as a defining moment in the...

Update time! Apologies for the long wait, real life was catching up with me. New little subdivision going up on the southern edge of Red River. Pretty soon that little farm will have to go to make way for more houses. Houses, houses, tralala. The new school's had to expand to accommodate all the little kiddies storming in. The town may end up having to build a third elementary soon too! Here's my little experiment: a horizontal mosaic. Let me know how you like it! (click on the picture for a fullsize image)

Update time! Once again! Hurray! And all that! You guessed it! The Trans Canada Highway! I think in Ontario it would Hwy 17 at this point. Ah well, we'll see when I get around to showing off a region transportation map. You can see all those power lines buzzing around.. they come from a coal plant just up the road.. we may see that in the next Whitefish update. Now sue me. I forgot I took a picture of almost this exact location in the last update. So here it is again, slightly shifted down and to the...

Iit's update time! Welcome to the small town of Whitefish Bay! If you can call it a town, really. Really only housing a few hundred people at most, it's a pleasant place. Lots of room in the yards. You can see the school at the top of the picture as well. And this is Whitefish Park. It's an island just outside of town, on Barcele Creek. Its got some good recreational activities, and a small campground, as well as the entire area being a designated off-leash area for dogs (the park is still inside the Town...

Red River: Farmland

Welcome to Part 2 of our update today! I took your advice, Haljackey... and I was not disappointed. Looks good, I think! Since I've shown so few farms from inside the city tiles, I figured I'd spoil ya here.

Iiits update time! Here's part one of our update.. Here's a commercial area on the edge town that I've been meaning to show off for a while now.. it's called Gateway Common. Basically it's just your large, retail suburban development. Not really meant for pedestrian traffic, it's geared for the drivers. Lots of parking, little bussing or that. And finally, just an overview. And I just thought this shot was neat.

Iit's update time! Edit: I see I made a mistake in a picture. 4 duckies to the one who discovers it. Road map! Now you can see whats what in Red River. Simply a pond beside a highway. Thought it was cute. And another pond! Here's where the rail crosses over Highway 1. I think I might have to improve this a little bit still.. And this I thought was a pretty nice shot of Hwy. 1 curving around. I like it, anyways. Short but sweet... that's all, folks! Next time should be a big 'un!

Iit's update time! Apologies for the infrequent updates..work is keeping me hopping and I feel I need more time to relax and just chill than I do playing SimCity... things should begin to pick up again within the next few months for us though, hopefully! Well it's about time I showed you what Red River looks like from the air. So.. er.. here's what I'll let you see so far. Lets put our focus on the left (western) side of things. Here's a new interchange under construction. The keen eye will see that there...

Finally, once again.. Iiit's update time! Yeah, it's really late. But I said I'd show you Red River's new year, so here it is. Happy New Year! Here's some commercial that I've finally polished up. And just further up the road. I've still got a bunch of work to do on it, I think. And, like I said.. here's the new MIS! Why couldn't have maxis included this with the original game.. I can't live without it now! I'm going to redesign that rest stop area that I had, it just didn't work with the MIS interchange...

Finally, it's update time once again! Happy New Years! (ok, so it's a little belated ) Apologies for the very small update.. work's been keeping me busy. Promise next time I'll show off some shots of Red River's new years, as well as the new NAM, RHW and MIS!
beebs
Welp.. It's update time! Time to do some retconning. So far as you're concerned, this is the only building that ever existed here. Anyone who says otherwise is quite insane. Majestic, hmm? I dunno if I ever showed you the new baseball stadium. Here she is. Tadaa! Kinda multi-use, it can be converted into a football stadium for those pesky high school football games. Now, remember that landslide that hit the H22? Well they've finally gotten everything all patched up. Here's how she looks now. Pretty...

Iiiit's update time! Pretty basic. Just a shot of the Trans-Canada, along some lovely farmland. I'll be showing off lots of the farms around the Red River area next update. Rest stop! This is just east of Borden Road, right along Highway 1 (The Trans-Canada). Looks pretty busy, hm? Another shot of the main road into the town. Close-up of the save-on-foods, few hotels and stuff. Thought you guys might like a close up of them. Here as well is a close-up of those warehouses we saw last time. Nice dust cloud...

Red River

Iiit's update time! The Trans-Canada intersecting with Borden Road. You can see one of the few warehouses in the top left. (Btw, I cannot wait for the MIS to come out for the RHW. That would make my life much easier for this bloody interchange. ) Just a bit further along the Trans-Canada. This is a relatively new part of town, which is why there is a random Save-On-Foods and small hotels right beside open grassland. Plans are in place for a decent sized shopping area along the highway, by the time it's...

You guessed it.. Update Time!! Christmas lights! Now bear with the decorators, remember that the fire just blew through here earlier this year and people are tight on money. If you can't see the lights that well, click on the image. Takes you to a full size 1680 x 1050 shot. Another shot of some lights. Where's Santa when you need him? Maybe this will help Santa. New transportation map for the area! There's that pretty golf course from the air as well. Well that's all I got today. Check back soon for a big...

Snowfall II

Well, you guessed it.. Iiit's update time! I'm just purring along with this new beastie. Hopefully no stinkin lighting shorts out the motherboard on this guy! Anyways, lets get on with it. Ahh, winter. Here's a shot of a residential area in the Valley, after the blizzard hit. Getting you into the Christmas cheer yet? Well you just wait.. soon I'll be posting some shots of some of the better Christmas light displays from around the Valley. Hopefully that will be in the next update! One of the commercial...

Snowfall

I can't wait. Time for a mini update. I should be picking up my new monster machine tomorrow. Hurray! In the meantime, check out this candy.. Flying back from a long vacation, visiting such exotic locales as Miami, Wood County, Paris and Fairbanks. Here's a shot from the plane home, from Vancouver into Calgary International. This is just a shot of the plane passing over Capilano Valley. Not much snow yet, eh? My foot no snow! On the drive in from Calgary, a blizzard swooped in from the rockies and gave the...

Iiit's update time! Fancy new golf course! The clubhouse is a renovated house from the early 1900's. I guess it's rather more of an old mansion than a house, eh? Here's a better look at things. The course is a full 18 holes, designed by a Mr. John Henderson. Not really a big name, but he's got a few respectable courses in Alberta. Aren't those flowers purdy? Just a shot of the lake much of the course is built around. No holes actually cross the lake, however. Aand, that's all folks!

Iiit's update time!! I've gotten some more work done, and my plugins are all fitting in nicely! Newly constructed, this is the Capilano Valley Regional Library... a replacement for the old library. The old was destroyed by the fire, and.. well.. it just took a while for them to build a new one, ok? Beside it is the Simon and Fraser Financial Building, with the new hospital beside it as well. (We'll show what happened to the old one next time.) A new residential area going up, near the library. Not so much...
