The BAT resurrection project

I have decided that over the next year or two, I am going to focus my efforts on obtaining as many unfinished gems that have been shared with the community over the years. I already have some ready and some I'm working on from generous donations. 

If you are a BATer that has either 

• Mostly finished BAT that has been exported
• Mostly finished MAx file with materials (Max 2015 or below)
• Fully modelled with no materials MAX file (Max 2015 or below)
• 70% modelled with or without materials (Max 2015 or below)

I'd love for you to reach out and see if there are any abondoned works I could bring back to life. Anything that's sitting in the 'Ones that never made it to the STEX' thread, or anything else. I've starteda spreadsheet of models and BATs I'd love to get my hands on. I understand that a lot of BATers that made these wonderful creations no longer visit here, so if anyone is willing and able to electornically track them down or is still in touch with them I'd love to get hold of them. Probably Discord is the easiest method, but happy to email them etc. 

Definitely not limited to, but I'd love to get in touch with - I know a few still come here but most don't

Ah yes, I remember this. I think I had a look at this model many years ago and it was a lot of work to bring up to a good standard. Simhottoddy did a version he never released.

Gherkin sounds really cool, but I wanted to ask—hasn’t there been a previous release or an older version of it? I just found out that Girafe made a new version?

@SusajiThere was a version by Caliban from BSC that was only available on the LEX DVDs iirc.

 

Honestly from Girafe what I'd really like to get is the Federation Tower. But really there are a lot of cool BATs unreleased, Simfox had some great stuff almost finished from China and Japan...

 

@gutterclubExcellent initiative btw! There are some really excellent BAT lost to the time. Moonlight also had some great looking diagonal W2W building he never released (Though I'd want them in ortho, I don't really care about diagonal buildings tbh)

@art128 Oh right, thanks! By the way, I also remember that besides the Federation Tower, there were a few other skyscrapers in Moscow mentioned in that one of never made STEX thread. I think one of them was the Evolution Tower, if I’m not mistaken it’s been quite a while, though.

I'm also down to help with this by the way—if anyone has any unfinished 3dsmax/gmax, Sketchup or Blender models they'd like to send I can work on them (may have an easier time finishing them than my original projects). I have used 3dsmax 2014 for a while, have longtime familiarity with Sketchup and am still learning to use Blender/BAT4Blender.

It was also available on LEX as CSX-BSC Caliban Compilation of Lots (LEX ID: 207). The model is available as part of the BSC MEGA Props Caliban Vol01 in the BSC Common Dependencies v9b and above. 

I don't promise anything, but since it's gonna be a single upload and not a compilation I can dust it off rather sooner than later and re-host it on Evermore....

If he has the Max files then it will be easy to make ortho and touch the materials up a bit. Is anyone in touch with him...and can speak Japanese lol

If Harishna still has it and wants to let me work on it then I'd love to. If anyone knows how to get hold of him or any of the Baters let me know as they rarely check here

Yeah, I get it. Just wondering though did any of the people you tagged at the start ever reach out to you? I haven’t been on here in a while, and looks like some of them haven’t been active for a long time.

I understand, I guess it's not likely that Harishna still has the model, maybe someone from back on the time he was still active knows how to get a hold of him. Maybe @debussyman?

Speaking of @debussyman we spoke a while ago but if you have any models going spare I'd love to being some into BAT4MAX like I'm doing with Xannepans PAris buildings, especially any of those W2W buildings.

Speaking of W2W, my fave..Nofunk kindly donated some old models, which I've just been having some fun with.

Yes they are, as long as you disclose the source and/or credit the original author. If you upload to the STEX there's a place where you can link to the model source.
