The glass on 450 looks like turbulent water to me. Have you taken a look at Jason's glass tutorial?

What are some good laptop specs for handling SC4?
PBGV103 replied to Edvarz's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
@APSMS Star Citizen in 4k hopefully if they ever manage to finish it. I went overboard with the GPUs I guess, but I wanted a fun project and to build something special. Water cooled the GPUs and the CPU and used acrylic tubing. It was a challenge to do but definitely worth it. Also hoping to get iray working with Bat4Max and lots of VRAM helps there. Back to Edvarz's question: Most CPU's, Intel at least, will have two frequencies listed. The higher one, turbo boost, is the one that will be important for single threaded programs like SC4. In some cases the turbo boost on a 2 core i5's will be higher than a 4+ core i7. This is more common in laptops from what I've seen, so paying more for an i7 over an i5 can occasionally give you less performance in single threaded applications. -

The game is largely CPU limited so that's where you need to focus. I have two evga 1080 ftw in sli (yes surprisingly sli does function with this game), but they're never close to being fully utilized. SC4 is just single threaded so if you wan the best performance go with the newest and highest frequency CPU you can get. Also it's 32 bit so having much more than 4GB of RAM or VRAM won't help because it can only use up to 4GB. Having a little more for your computer's background processes might help, but I've never seen the game use over 2GB of RAM and 2.5GB of VRAM at a time. Also another interesting thing I've noticed is the game seems to lock itself to 30fps unless you're scrolling where it raises that to 60fps. -
Sorry to butt in, but a friend asked me to give my input. My advice would be either do the west wall like it is in real life or make it all windows like the rest. Half and half doesn't do it for me personally, and if I had to choose I would stay true to the original. I spent a little while on this building about a year ago. Hopefully this can be reference material if nothing else.

Someone needs to develop a SimCity type game with CryEngine. xD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JN5yIhIsDAg

Looking good. Just be sure to pay attention to which glass panels are transparent and which are opaque. They form columns but the columns change part way up the building. I think the glass has a bronze tint to it as well, rather than being plain black.

That interior looks absolutely stunning!

The tower sticks up right in the middle so it might be difficult to leave it off.

Will you just be making the museum or the tower as well?

The biggest thing I notice is the lack of anisotropic filtering. Not sure if a bump map on the stone would help, but a displacement map might.

It looks like the topiaries have the old material applied to them, rather than the new one you worked on a while ago.
