@gwada971 File not found when clicking on the zip file..... However, I thank you anyway because you gave me the name of the file I was missing, and therefore was able to find it buried under a ton of Plugin folder copies I had made years ago. That helped me out.

Sounds like a wayward post attachment. Hopefully @Tarkus can restore it.

He might pop in to let us know, but it looks like he re-uploaded the attachment. I just tried it, and it worked.

Thanks @Tarkus  *:thumb:

You're most welcome!  The issue was a remnant of a site upgrade that occurred way back in late 2011.  That upgrade broke existing attachments, due to a generational shift in the forum software (SMF 1.0 to SMF 2.0), and our recent shift to SMF 2.1 earlier this year re-broke them.  The files are still there, but the way the attachments were handled with SMF 1.0 didn't leave enough of a database crumb trail for the forum software to still recognize that they were indeed still on the server.

I've been able to get copies of all the files and get them converted back into .zip files from how they were stored, and am having to manually reattach things (attempts to use hash tables to try to force the database to read them has not worked).  I'm going to be going through and gradually doing this, prioritizing .zip attachments but if there are any specific requests of people finding files that they want that aren't working, let me know, and I'll prioritize it.  The way I'm doing it, while painstaking and primitive, will prevent them from breaking again in the future, whenever the next big SMF upgrade occurs.

Generally, if it was uploaded before July 2011 (attachment ID lower than 8654), it's probably broken.

Hi guys.
Look, I've downloaded this school and it's respective dependency.
Thing is, the brown box won't go away.
Can anyone help me here?
I guess the creator forgot some dependency or something.
The school is called Mega Capacity School and it belongs to Barroco Hispano.

Hi, I'm sorry but that's not the bus lot I'm having issues with.  This one:

image.png.de2fb8ac3a521e06d8600d9ee7d1a26b.png

I have all the dependencies needed (including the other deadwood's bus stop you suggested). The paths are okay, but I'm still getting an empty texture on the bus and bike peds lot of this mod. =(

I recall having read that the problem here isn't a missing dependency, but instead it's the combination of a removed base texture on a traffic lot. That was years ago though, so my memory could be a bit foggy on this.

@Paulo S.M.  I think it's best to ask @Barroco Hispano as it is still often on the forum!

I did, he can't help since he says he made it looooooong time ago :P
So, that's why I asked it here, to see if anyone had solved this or knew a way to know all specks of the lot and identify the missing dependency.
I've tried to edit it and reduce a bit of it's stats, but don't HAVE the SLIGHTEST CLUE on how to check for missing files :???:
Thank you so much @gwada971  :thumb:

I've checked, but... yeah... no, I have that already :(
So, that file is not the problem.
Isn't there a way to check a lot for all their dependencies?
Like: "This lot uses this and that dependency"?
Any program?

@Paulo S.M. reader can list dependencies but not for textures and it won't highlight the missing one, just have to read through and figure it out; data node can tell you the missing dependency but it may not be intuitive to understand if you don't use it often.

Indeed, the problem comes from the Invisible Prop used for the Building, rather than using a null key or linking to the existing Maxis 'invisible model', which everyone can use, they've re-used a template blank model, probably one from Pegasus by the looks of things.

I notice too the included SC4Desc file does nothing, it's not even got the same ID as the Exemplar you actually need, which is inside the SC4Lot file. Likewise included in the download is an SC4Model file, which again has nothing to do with this lot whatsoever. Long and short, throw away the download and just use this fixed file instead:

Mega_Escuela_BySrJeff_e015f62c.SC4Lot

This won't cause boxes, but still requires Buildings as Props vol 1 for the main model on the lot. I didn't look at the other modding, since the high values were clearly intended.

so, this may be a bit of a reverse of what this topic is, but, I've been trying to find a link to a park on here. The file I have has the wonderfully cryptic name: PZ3x3_parkdubonheur_5c52be77.SC4Lot

and is the lot below:

623aa2046b815_brokenpark.png.d0d609133a2d47714cdfca102600ef3c.png

I was wondering about this, because, it's a bit of a game breaking lot, where it dumps something like, $2 million into your city's treasury every month, and, i wanted to go back and double check that it was mentioned on the page you could download it from.

Plus, I wanted to see if maybe they had an alternative one, where it didn't have that income on it, as, it caused my mayor rating in one city to completely tank upon removing it (went from +100 to -66). And, it seems to have many other bonuses with it, that allows you to avoid having to deal with other problems that typically arise in a city (my hunch is pollution is eaten up at max strength across the entire city).

From my limited understanding of modding that would be the easiest solution. Hopefully someone else can also chip in with advice on this.

Ugh, those "cheat lots" are the worst. Yes, they are great when you want the effects, but the game isn't prepared for them, and if you remove the lot, everything goes out of balance, specially the mayor rating and trash levels.

To keep it in mind: you shouldn't try to fix the lot stats with it in a city, or you'll get file corruption of some sort because of the mismatch between savefile and plugin. And removing the lot might (but not necessarily) cause some of the city stats to go hard on the opposite direction. Probably the safest option is just to keep it there, but you can always make a backup and experiment.

@sevithethird  Hi, did you see and read @Tyberius06 comment (in red) in the download comments. Maybe this is the solution!
Comments are sometimes interesting because they can solve a dependencies or textures problem!

@sevithethird I think I found the comment I referenced earlier. This texture mod for the bike paths has a comment by @rsc204 noting that pedmalls aren't affected by the 'water bug' since they're S3D Models. My understanding is that this doesn't apply to the traffic lots, which is why the bug shows up there.

Hi, @gwada971! That instruction was for a different kind of issue though, where the entire pedmall mountain trail replacement set isn't showing. The problem I had is this one:

Hi, @Dead_End! You know what, I found this a few days ago since I posted my question here. I think I'd try this 'red asphalt' bike paths and see if there's a BUS STOP lot and if the transparency will work fine or the 'water bug' won't show up anymore. I'm really obsessed with these 'bike paths' since they look more realistic than the plain open pedmalls. Thanks! =)

Sorry for spamming this thread, but this is still related to my issue. The so-called 'water bug' turns out to be the problem I was having with Deadwood's mountain trail replacement BUS STOP and BIKE ENABLER LOT. And btw, thanks to @Dead_End for mentioning this. I have absolutely no idea about it until he said it, but after some research here in Simtropolis site I found Cori's solution to it:

I somehow understand how she does it, but if I'm not mistaken, the trick didn't seem to provide a permanent fix.

Anyhow, I think that concludes my quest for a solution, since I have other lots with no overlay texture or base texture such as PEG's MTP Mountain Trail Recreation lot that also behave that way.

Fellas, I'll need your help. I'm looking for props that I can use to create green roofs for Maxis buildings. Right now, I'm using some Maxis-made square flower beds that look very cute and fit like a glove in small areas.

However, if I remember correctly, I've had seen somewhere a prop pack, which has green flat surfaces as props to place them on the roofs of buildings. I can't remember which pack is it, so I'll need some help to find it. Of course any suggestion of props that I can use for green roofs will be welcomed.

You do understand it.

It's more a way to hide the water bug effect than a true solution. Ofc, for the Pipes View, it really is a complete fix. For any other view it has the side effect of removing textures from all grown lots and ploppables (or hiding them in some cases) and if you can live with that side effect then see also @hugues aroux's Cohort method in the same topic to add the Force Zones thinger to all data views. Or at least to all which are coded using the Maxis convention of referencing a cohort. (By this latter part I mean it's possible you might find custom data views where the creator didn't use the standard cohort and so it'd need fixed up manually.)

If adding that cohort method file then when exiting a data view, the water bug is not present so it's only a fix inasmuch as if you don't mind the goofiness while in the data view, you do completely remove the water bug when exiting back to the normal budget view.

I think I found the prop I was looking for. It's the "kz_UnderBridge_Grass" which is available in Kazuki's Underbridge Lots 2, and I used it as a base to make my very first green roof :D

Of course I'm gonna use it, but I'd like to know if there are more props like this to make green roofs.
