Hi! Me again!

I'll try not to delete my post so that any replies make sense. For the record for anyone that replied, I did find what I was looking for and the rail fence file ended up working.  It was hidden in a different tab.

But ANYWAY...

I'm looking for two things:

* Large colonial revival/georgian/antebellum-type mansion.  Something period looking, ideally with columns and a mansard or hip roof. Any lot size. Will entertain other styles as well. I found some mansions over on SC4 Devotion, but the creator has made them reward lots with population minimums and other requirements.

* Classic red barn. Nothing fancy. Just an old red barn. With a silo is ideal, but whatever you can find. Any lot size.

These two items must  be ploppable, either as a park or landmark. Little to no dependencies ideal!  I do have most of the basic BSC dependency files already. Essentials, Textures, etc. but I often still have issues on lots with high amounts of dependencies.

A couple of reference pictures included.  Thanks!

Hi, I (Nexis) have made a red barn some time ago, it doesn't have a silo though. It was one of my own barn on the farm that I demolished some years ago because it became old and dangerous, just like me. I don't know if I uploaded it somewhere, can't remember, but if you want it, I'll put a download linkie right here under my post as EDIT, later. Confirm please if you want it. ;) It's a Landmark.

I know what it's like to use a program that you never had/used, get explanations and plans on how to do it and you are never able to get something right out of it, happens to me all the time. It's all a matter of complicating life. (and please, just don't say anything about that opinion please, I've been here since you all were wearing Pampers and seen everything there is to see)  I only work with the old programs, so they're simple and ALWAYS function well (no matter what).

So, monkeywater, here's my offer: Send me this or these files you want to change the texture and/or do some changes (anything, props, stats, price etc) and send me also the new textures or a linkie/picture. I will do the changes the same day and send them back, perfectly done (like all my Nexis LOTs and BATs) and working perfectly. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it. Why? I do this all the time....;) and I like doing it. :) Glad to help.

Fred

Wow, thank you very much!  I will follow up in a private message tomorrow (busy work day today) about a couple things like this.  Thank you so much for this offer.

The way you and @11241036 have gone out of your way to help an editing noob like me on this is really appreciated.  This community is great!

Paeng has made a few ploppable barns for SPAM. Perhaps this is right for you.

As for your other request: How about this one: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3714? I know, it's a farm, but that's easier to relot than a ploppable. Otherwise, you may want to check Mattb325's content, here or over at the LEX, he made some mansions, perhaps some of his other stuff is right for you.

It would take approximately 10-15 minutes to turn Mattb325's Monticello Farm (8x8 lot) or one of CP's Early 19th Century R$$$ Homes (mix of lot sizes) into  a ploppable lot using the PIM-X tool or iLive Reader. Monticello might be the best fit for what you're after, though CP's home's could be a better choice if you want a smaller lot or a slightly more generic looking home. Both files have a few dependencies, but they're all pretty common BSC stuff. It would also be pretty easy to convert one of the reward lots you mentioned into a regular ploppable (I'm assuming they're the CSX mansions?).

I'd be happy to convert one of these lots, so long as it isn't supposed to glorify antebellum plantations or the Confederacy or anything like that.

Edit: I see someone beat me to the Monticello suggestion.

On SimCity Polska there were these modern packs. There were 3 or 4 packs I think. I've look for them, but they are not on the SimCity Polska Files section in Simtropolis. Does anyone know where I could get them?

@bch0899  Hello, you have to be a little patient because @Tyberius06 is doing their best to put all the files from the SimCityPolska site online for everyone. Soon they will all be available on the STEX. It took time for SIMPEG, for WMP (WorkingManProductions) and it will take time also for SimCityBrasil...too…

Is there a sidewalk mod that also replaces the in-avenue and in-road GLR sidewalks? I'm currently using Gobias HD sidewalk SCILT mod which looks great but the GLR pieces use the base Maxis texture which looks pretty rubbish compared to the sidewalk mod.

As you can see at the bottom avenue is the Gobias modern cobblestone sidewalk and the GLR Avenue has the default Maxis.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

As far as I know, there will be a mod called Sidewalk NAM (SWN) from @rsc204, which will more or less do that.  Currently it is only available for the Paeng Sandstone sidewalk style. I think you should ask him for further details.

Hello, I hope you all are well on this lovely day! I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the following buildings. In regards to the two buildings with domes from Korver's True Earth journal, they may be fake, but if not, I'd love to add them to my collection. Thank you in advance!

As far as I know, it's more or less impossible to have growable diagonal buildings, because the game is not coded for diagonal lots. Any diagonal lot that you find online works by using a regular square or rectangular lot and then applying diagonal props overtop.

The only example of growable diagonal lots that I can think of are SimCoug's diagonal residentials (here's a link to one of them), and they take a ton of time and effort to grow properly.

Just to clear up any possible misunderstanding, SCILT is simply a set of lot textures designed to work with various sidewalks. As such, it won't cover any of the missing compatibility from SC4/NAM pieces that default to the White sidewalks, like GLR.

SWN is intended to cover every single piece in SC4/NAM that would otherwise show White sidewalks, to instead show custom sidewalks. Officially I've only released one variant for Paeng's Sandstone Sidewalks as of this time. The idea being to eventually release a few official variants in addition to the tools/scripts so anyone can make their own version.

As it happens, I'm doing some work on the automated side of things and have a need to test-run everything a few times. Long and short, this means it's not really out of my way to make a few versions by request. As such, I've a few variants which are detailed in this post, including the Gobias Modern Cobble (GMC), which I believe from your screenshot is the one you'd want. However, if I have got the wrong sidewalk, please do let me know which you are using and I can make you the one you are after.

Really depends, I've got a bunch of them made using models from Gascooker that were never lotted. As 1x1 lots, other than controlling their growth (indeed no fun), they are not so difficult. Again, I've made growable FAR lots, although used tricks where multiple deeper (or shallower) lots combine together.

I believe the set you are after is part of Xannepan's Paris Collection, https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1613, be sure to check out his other content, there is quite a lot of Parisian style buildings if it's something useful for your game.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

I don't know if I can jump on this request, but I was just thinking about asking a similar question @rsc204. Right now I use this sidewalk everywhere

And it works everywhere except on the GLR (Tram in ave, tram in road, tram on street).  I'd love to have this sidewalk texture be present on the GLR tiles as well.

Thank you very much!  I don't know if I have a conflict with  sandstone override (I removed z_glr_sandsone textures from previous mod), but what ended up happening is I got sandstone on some parts and cobblestone on others.

It looks ridiculously good so I don't really want to fix it, (if this was unintentional and is caused by competing files)

Shown is GLR, GLR on pedmall, and GLR in avenue

Well there isn't really a fix, it is absolutely as intended. The GLR network is based on the central "Old Sandstone" texture, Magneto made for use with his Super Light Asphalt Mod. I wasn't sure at first if I was going to offer these textures with the repository DIY version, so the preview edition does this:

34802484244_f64ab6ba3e_o.jpg

The central part with the rails is kept as Maxis White, but the edges are all have the custom sidewalks. This setup isn't really an option anymore, although I have the files to make it, the repository including them is many versions out of date.

Looking for either a mod/puzzle pieces or even just a strategy to avoid the below:

I like putting my railway on brown background as gravel, but while straight and 45 degree angles can fit perfectly, the special curves do not generate base textures that match the railway elsewhere.

Is there any way to make the rail curves generate these base textures?

Second question is the same, but for the GHSR

I'm not sure, but I've run into a similar situation with SAM Dirt (and Gravel) inasmuch as a plopped puzzle piece will not generate the base textures, but the ones created with a drag pattern do:

7010-4816.jpg

So, perhaps, it's the same for rail lines?

This appears to work on the draggable FAR patterns and curves as well.  Very difficult to remember the patterns, but this works!  thanks!

I'm looking for a number of buildings, some of which I've spotted in a Simtropolis city journal, and some of which were in a Let's Play of the game on the Something Awful forum. Any help finding these would be really appreciated.

Spoiler

7GAPg.jpg

These twin towers were definitely in the LP, and remind me of the old World Trade Center.

GVuuiJ0.png

Dunno what that big plaza building on the right is, but I'd love to find it.

NHXZNhY.jpg

The big buildings north of the university were displayed in a Simtropolis city journal.

0pPJRU0.jpg

This church from the CJ is nice.

9ZVsSUG.jpg

The big buildings at the top of this CJ screenshot look like some sort of mines.

AaTF2UP.jpg

This is the biggest stadium I've ever seen in SimCity 4. Frankly I suspect it might have been a custom creation for this CJ.

The big building on the left with the green roofs looks very interesting. The skyscraper to its immediate right looks neat too.

Hi!

1. I don't know. I thought it was from @nycc06, it looks like his texturing style, but I couldn't find the building. Although it is really familiar to me, so I might have it somewhere, and I can imagine, that those are actually only one building and they were placed next to each other to look like a twin tower.

2. I know that building, I have it somewhere, but don't know the name of it. When I find it, I will let you know if others wouldn't come up with it.

3. One of the buildings in that complex (right bottom corner) is from @kellydale2003's Linda Swampy Medical Centre, which is currently unavailable for public. You need to ask him about the building. I recognize, but don't know which one is the other model.

4. The church is:

5. That coal plant is Aras's AC Saturn Coal Power Plant, which is currently unavailable, until I rehost it here on STEX in the following months. It was originally released on the SimCity Polska site, which is no longer running.

6. The big stadium is @teemu_om's Reliant Stadium. It's coming in 3 part, you need all 3 files.

By the way. Would it be against any rules @Cyclone Boom and @CorinaMarie if someone were merging these 3 parts into one uploads. Bandwidth and huge files are not really a problem these days. It would serve easier access for sure. Just and idea.

7. The last one is Xyloxadoria - Center For the Preforming Arts.
