Hi Tyberius, Gurry's walls are on SimCityChina here: https://www.simcitychina.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=44872

Yepp, I'm well aware of that. But 99% of the western community don't have and can not have access to the SimCity China page. I mean you can go there and see what is there, but if you are not already a registered member, you can not download anything. I'm a registered member, but I lost my password and I can not reset that password and get a new one, because the confirmation email doesn't come through from the china servers to my gmail account. And I can not make a new registration for two reasons:
 - I would need a invitation code from a member of the SimCity.cn (this is the smaller issue)
 - I'm supposed to get a confirmation email anyway, which won't be happening, because of the above described reasons ;)

I have the Gurry Seawalls anyway. What I was refering to the fact that sadly it has an existing copy/source, so we can not really host that file here on STEX to make it available more people, because technically it's not lost.

I'm responsible for the Heretic uploads a.k.a. Heretic Projects, you may find updates about my ongoing projects into my development thread over at SimCity 4 DevotionTyberius Lotting Experiments or here on Simtropolis into the Tyberius (Heretic Projects) Lotting and Modding Experiments OR Show Us What You're Working On thread.

Now I'm part of the NAM Team and the RTMT Team.
I'm also working on some preservation and reorganization projects the behalf of non-anymore-active-developers and with the permission of the Staffs both on STEX and LEX. Current projects: SimcityPolska Restoration and WMP (WorkingManProduction) Restoration.

Yes I know that and it's a shame for the community that the site is not open to everyone.
I connect regularly because often it is necessary to go through their identification system again and it's a misery.

The old addresses must be modified to access the posts since the change of address of the site and if you forget = identification!!

Good to know, that the guy's name is Sanankoku, in my collection he runs under the "3 Sculpture" or "3 Darkroom" creator name (I guess google translator was funny or confused). I have all of his stuffs (what was listed on his website), but the Kanayama Minami Building. So I am actually looking for that building. I think I found these buildings via SimCity Force . The link for the Midland Squre. But now I'm not sure, because those links led back to his personal site, which seems to be dead. So I either found them on his site, or somewhere else, but sadly I haven't documented where I found these stuffs. I downloaded them between the end of 2016 and september 2018 for sure, because I lost all my back-up plugins downloaded before 2017, and those haven't contained much far eastern plugins, but now I found downloaded stuffs from the begining of 2017. Maybe somewhere on SimCity.cn you could find a copy of them.

Anyway the real question is (and I make @Cyclone Boom and @CorinaMarie involved into this topic again ;) ) if we are allowed to host these lost japanese files here onto the STEX if we can not find any other source of them. Despite what happened with the Gurry Walls, I'm not sure if these models can be found on SimCity china at all... Apart from SimCity Force (links above) I couldn't find any relevant links after a google search, but recently google is pretty f... up, and hardly give anything, apart from a bunch of brown souce, it is too filtered...

- Tyberius

SimCity Force and linking to ? Some BAt´s may be there; probably, Lot files are by nature tricky ! Some Lot files I for convenious translate from japanese to english, yet nothing certain; like some Nob textures or other sets ! SimCity.CN is for the average user now inaccesible in nature a privat club as there member  invitations code´s required. Reputation of upload is questionable as most might lack permision of the author´s ! SimcityCN fiitire may be bleak as files are dated, user may have shrunk and security isn´t making  life happier. So how long may it last, these files are gone for ever !

Yet, last about the Gurry Seawall may be there but not under a account by the  author or may any fancy name will do, correct that´s no argument not to topublish it on STEX under the a real author´s account ?

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

I've been chatting with CB and we feel based on your synopsis of the situation the files are lost for all intents and purposes. Including the Gurry Walls and any others on the locked down China site. Therefore, we do grant you permission to upload this and any other such files to our STEX in good faith.

If the author is not a member here for changing the name over to them just keep it under your own name with the disclaimer you've used before about it being uploaded in good faith. Then just toss a linky to each upload in the PM we have going and CB or I will add an Admin level blue message explaining the file is hosted here in good faith.

Okay, so I decided to create a vintage style city in SimCity 4, inspired by Vester's absolutely beautiful North American train automata on the LEX, and MikeSeith's 1960s Maxis Automata Replacement Modd here on the STEX. I've found a few other period-appropriate mods as well, except for one that continues to elude me.

I could have sworn there was a 1960s-style GMC bus automata replacer, but I can't find it anywhere. If this mod doesn't actually exist, are there any possible alternatives I could use for a more vintage look?

Top link is for Midland Square, Second is for JR Central Towers in Nagoya. Posting the JR towers since thats a lost file too.

If you go through the bathouse.web.fc2 website (or any dead mod site) with the Archive.org time machine you can probably salvage some plugins so try it out.

@FranklinGOLD37 The posts on the blog is made by someone named e.hanson which is @Hanson784 on Simtropolis. As far as I can see, at least 3 of the car models in your picture has been avaliable through Donation Download-section (linked on the right side of the screen). You can try to send him a message concerning the other models

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a mod that will help the game run better on systems with memory greater then 4gig?  If so where can I find it?

Thanks in advance.

Here's how to check if NAM did install the 4 GB patch:

On 08/06/2018 at 1:23 AM, CorinaMarie said:

The 4GB patch has been a part of the NAM installation for eons, so you prolly have it. Check in your installation directory where the SimCity 4.Exe file is located and see if you also have one called SimCity 4.exe.Backup. If so, that lets you know NAM did do the 4GB magic.

T1 BAT Props vol1 or vol 2 or vol 3.

You can find them over at LEX.

FYI you can't make MMP light props, since they don't work (light up) when modded this way.

If you simply mean do they come with lots, no the packs just contain the actual props. But making a lot for them would be very quick. Perhaps someone will know what pack contained them from all the airport content though?

Windows 32-bit applications (such as SC4) can only access 2GB of system memory. However, due to the way Windows allocates memory, much of that 2GB could be reserved by the operating system itself. Adding this switch tells Windows the app can access up to 4GB of system memory, which still has to include the system-used parts. In real terms it allows for SC4 to have a potential 2GB all to itself.

It was added to the NAM because the ever-growing size of the controller had meant without this, the game could become unstable. It's not going to make things faster though.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

As @rsc204 explained, basically the 4 GB Patch is useful in allowing the game to utilise additional system memory (RAM).

It works by adding or altering a switch (toggle) inside the executable file's header, instructing the operating system to make this happen. Having more RAM allocated to the game does help with stability performance, even though the difference might not be completely obvious without having lots of custom content. Including more items in one's Plugins folder will increase the memory overhead. It's a case of the patch might as well be used as there's no downside and can only help.

For those who don't use the NAM, it can be downloaded and applied manually from here. The NAM Team received permission from the creator for it to be bundled with their mod, but does exactly the same thing. As @CorinaMarie posted above, a backup file will be created after the patch is applied successfully. This is a good indicator to check, along with the SimCity 4.exe executable having an updated modified timestamp. The file size should still be identical.

The 4 GB Patch isn't something specifically intended for SC4, but it works and can also be used on other applications too.

Hey Community.

I've noticed there are now updated dependency packs available, rendering the older ones obsolete. So is there a new Master Cleanitol doc out there or is anyone working on one?

I'm also looking for the forum thread that deals with common dependency conflicts and how to find them. I just had a CTD after spending a month trying to get the game to work again.

Thanks for the help. I do have these lots and for some reasons, whenever I try to query some of them, the game CTD, I'm going to take this chance to see whether I missed something. It's odd that it does that.

As Tyberius suggested, you can try this file:

maybe you'll have less trouble. These are lots with 2 different sizes.
