The thing with BRT is that the game doesn't really allow us to make such a network easily, it's why you've never seen bus lanes, something that's very common in Europe, either. The GLR-in road systems are actually just a ground-based Elevated Rail train. You could replace the trains with bus automata, retexture the network to fit better (no rails for a start) and then make stations for such a network. That's a big amount of work to pull off, even for one of these networks only. Not to mention, you'd have buses on your elevated rail networks. However that would be the easiest way to make this work, since I guess BRT sort of replaces trams, rather than complementing them?

We have two tipes of Bus only roads. I don't know if it's just eye candy or it's functional, but we have that. I don't mind if we have to draw an separated road for the buses, because, in practice, that's what we do for the BRT. I was thinking in an inversal RTMT Bus stop, in the median, with the bus stop serving the two sides of the avenue. Here in Brazil, High demand BRT's have AVE-2, or OWR-1, or RD-2 Lanes for "interstation" traffic

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRsDXn9U_5svp3xGM231P1

and AVE-4 in the stations, for express and direct services pass safely from the stations without landing on them

240px-Passarela_de_Acesso_a_Esta%C3%A7%C

and Low-Demand BRT's have Traffic Sharing lanes, with The stations in the Median.

estacao-brt.png

That kind of station will be really important, for my project of recreating Rio de Janeiro. Rio de Janeiro has Trams (we call them "bondinho"), GLR (We call that "VLT", "Veículo Leve sobre Trilhos") and BRT (no names for this one). That will totally screw my plan! but i think i'm talking too much and perverting the sense of this post. Where can I talk about that?

Oh yes!

Yo, guy --

#1 is the Otto Von Bismarck Statue found in Berlin -- you can find it on LEX (it was part of their Advent Calendar this year).  My thanx to the author -- I luuuuv that statue !!

#2 is the Barby Winterton Memorial Monument.  Can't remember -- got it off either LEX or STEX.

#3 is one of an entire set of beautifully executed column monuments called "The Column of Heroes" -- either LEX or STEX.  The night lighting is very good.

Thanx for stopping by the CJ -- nice to see I'm stirring up some interest. :thumb:

Hi guys,

I cannot find those monuments.  Can anyone help me? I lost the column of heroes when I changed my pc.

Thanks a lot

A quick Google search will provide the results.

Yo, guys --

Can anyone tell me if there is a set of "plop" dirt tracks for rural areas?

I think "RPR" included them in a set of fences -- but they had transparent textures on the base and suffered from the "water bug" syndrome.

The ones in the picture are from "Ln X's" CJ -- but I think they are "free-hand" using the "Heblem Sands".  But they are exactly what I'm looking for --

As far as I'm aware, that is not MMP Heblem sand. They are the plopped ones you described, but to solve the issue mentioned, turn on and then off the "Zones" view. This has worked for me in the past.

This has not ALWAYS worked for me.  It worked fine for a while -- but then stopped working for no apparent reason.

These are mmp's based of Heblem Sands;

ChrisAdams/RPR has a version of mmp dragable paths; https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1885

Deadwoods also has a set of lots with dirt tracks;

EDIT: Just remembered that someone was working on a fixed version of the RPR lots without the waterbug over at SimPeg (before that went down)

gonna have to dig to see if i have those lots

Fixing them is real easy, just add a base texture to each lot. Of course, then they won't blend into the terrain.

This is a game limitation, no solution, if you use overlay textures without bases, you get the water bug. The water bug always disappears after going into the zones view. But it will return, every time the game goes into the water menu or is saved they will go black once more. This is a known issue, the readme states as much and leaves you the user with a use it as it stands or don't decision to make.

You could get around the limitation using S3D props with those textures, since they will show transparency. But, they are not slope tolerant, there is no have your cake and eat it solution. Personally, water bug = not in my plugins, I use Heblem's sand and Frank U's supremely useful addons for paths.

Yo, guy --

Thanx for the thought -- but I think I will run with the Heblem Sand option.

It may not be as even and neat as an "engineered" tire track -- but I'd already considered making filler lots and decided it would be even more difficult to cover terrain color differences with MMP's.

It was just a thought.

Yo, guys --

This is from "Ln X's" great CJ work --

It looks like a combination of park sets -- (I recognize the Paeng parts) can anyone tell me which ones -- ESPECIALLY the diagonals near the highway?

The diagonals to the right of the highway are a mixture of rsc204's diagonal filler set and SFBT's diagonal fillers- https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1197.

Also here are some elevated highway fillers- https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2315.

Yo, Guy --

Thanx for the highway fillers (still looking for the "gizmo vehicle dependency") --

I've given up trying to fool around with diagonal fillers.

BUT -- actually, I was asking about the park pathway set that runs alongside the highway.  Is that a Paeng set ??  If so -- which one.

It is indeed Paeng's parks, but I can't remember which one, because I installed all of them once.

In any case, I add a doubt: how is the grass texture changed in Paeng's parks? It is the MGB's Terrain Grass NAM mod?

Yes this is Paeng's parks, the grass has been changed by TGN, but if you aren't using a HD terrain mod, the original textures are just fine.

My diagonal fillers are really intuitive, I think you'd find some use in them, I know they are indispensable for me.

@Ln X - That picture is unmistakably your work :). This picture encapsulates exactly what TGN is supposed to do, that's a wonderfully unified set of grasses you have there. If I were to nit-pick slightly though, the grass for Paeng's parks is $$, I think you've used the $/$$$ fillers on the edges and not the $/$$ ones, because the green grass is darker than that of TGN. Actually, that's probably my fault :P. Since v1 of TGN had the wrong grass used for Paeng's Parks ($$$ - SV versions only) in error, so you probably made it right, but I changed things. Sorry about that ;).

As I recall the park grass looked right in v1 of the TGN, I would have noticed otherwise and I was paying close attention because the $$ and $$$ look rather similar in colour. Looking at the picture now and I have just noticed that the grass is indeed different, Paeng's parks now have $$ grass! Oh well it is not too noticeable, as I said $$ and $$$ grass look very similar.

Your unified grass work is a real game-changer because it makes simple layouts look amazing. It gives the game a Transport Tycoon feel, arcade-like but also realistic at the same time. Amazing stuff!

You can get Gizmo vehicle props from his site (requires registration) here; http://gizmo.aplaceforwebsite.com/index.php?action=downloads&sa=vehicleprops

-or an older version here; http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=274

(not sure which works with the highway fillers)

Hi, does anyone know where to find Kazuki's Under Bridge Lot 2?  Every link I can find to his work appears to be dead now and it seems that he made the only under bridge pedestrian plaza pieces that match the ones in the NAM.  Unless anyone knows of another!  Thanks :)

Indeed, you need the file "transparent base" from the A folder installed.

So I was reading @MilitantRadical's new Ionica entry and I had  some questions

Here's the link to the update:

1.) What are the grass pieces he's using specifically the ones with the fence.

2.) What building  is the one he used for the Gate?

3.) Whats the Pedestrian overpass below the station?

4.) What is that building in the very top left, above the HDorker buildings in the modern college section?

Clothing lines? Cloths drying outside. Has anyone made these as props? I know that Maxis have few props, but these are too modern for my taste. I need something historic and more compact. For narrow backyards. May be some megapack has those, but I would want to avoid big prop files.

I could probably whip something up for this purpose, is it just the Pedmalls you want. They won't function, since there is no way to path them under a bridge. Check the attachment to this post first, I just remembered I had some side-walk compatible overhanging lots which may be suitable. Basically I could use the same technique to show other textures if you want to cover more than just the sidewalk pedmalls.
