Haven't used the old VW factory in a while, so I thought I'd dust it off and use it in Wisconsin. Hey, it's German, so it sort of fits. *

Home stretch on the journal, about 20 cities to go, 20 tough cities. I've gotta cram over a million Sims, seaports and an airport into 6 medium tiles, and make it look believable. Estimated finish in early December.

Actually plan on using that same Smoke Stack lot but do the opposite effect.    The haunted pieces are pretty neat, but my main idea for the deadwoods, is in the future down the road,  the neighbor city will have some dirty nasty Industry and leave some scorched earth with some neighbor cities.

The nasty Industry will be in corner of map and have lots of scorched earth with the Deadwoods without the zombies.

Getting close to cracking the game's bias code. I'm finally starting to tame the vanishing point.

I'll be starting Kenosha on my Wisconsin project tomorrow. Should I depict it pre-2020, or as a pile of rubble after the riots scheduled this week?

Any chance for a little neon action on those yellow squares in the night view?

I LOVE THIS !!!  *:thumb: *:thumb: *:thumb:

The colors, the composition, and the enormous amount of work to bring it all together on one, harmonious, scene -- is amazing!!

  • Thanks 1

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

(Harry Lime to Holly Martins...Graham Greene's THE THIRD MAN...1949)

Yo, guys --

The work continues on the new CJ -- "Imperial Dockyards: Cuxhaven".  But with the Holiday Season fast approaching, there is little doubt the work will slow down considerably to make room for polite socializing as well as some downright "partying like an animal"!!

In the meantime, I'm still developing some new aspects for "marine landscape".  These shots show a small cape situated on the south side of a harbor entrance.  The focus is shifting to more natural landscaping of the shorelines rather than filling everything in with harbor seawalls.  The most obvious feature continues to build on @MissVanleider's beautiful work with sand dunes.  I'm still trying different combinations of MMP's and their placement to find the right mix -- not as easy as it sounds.  You can also see my renewed efforts at creating the "shallow-sea" effects of the North Sea.  The heavy use of @Girafe cattails is my attempt to show extremely shallow water areas.  Just beyond the cattails you can barely see the edges of a dredged shipping channel.  And -- it is my plan to make heavy use of the "coniferous" trees rather than the deciduous variety.  I think they are more appropriate to North European shore lines.  So you might say this is a major overhaul of my landscape style.

ANY comments or SUGGESTIONS really, really, would be appreciated.

I love what you're doing with the place, but thinking it over ,and verisimilitude-wise, I am wondering if sand dunes (Northern sand dunes, I assume ?) would really have those rather big trees ; smaller, rarer trees, (and surely not pines?), and lots of scraggly bushes, yes, but grown trees ? I am not sure. Granted, they seem not to be exclusively sandy any more, but... Even if they have been planted in order to be fixed and not move or erode, those would not be the plants used for that ?
