This is going to be my first attempt at a CJ. I have followed others for years and acquired ideas and created some of my own. This will be my place to show off my work of my cities. I have been playing SC4 since it came out. I was 15 years old and didn't have a clue. I will be 33 this year and feel I have developed quite a bit in my city building. I don't get much time to build, but when I do, its an all day affair. I have one main region that I have been working on for 3 years now, and one that I just started, New Humboldt. This CJ will focus on this region. It has two main metro areas at present time: Claxton and Fairway (pictured above).

I hope you enjoy my updates on my cities. This CJ will not focus on one in particular, but many in my regions that I am building. I am also open to any advice! *;)*:D

Enjoy!

Phase 2 of Highway Upgrades!!! Hello again! Last time we saw phase 1 of the new upgrades to the East/West mainline highway through Fairway. Today we will focus on Phase 2! Phase 2's plan was to lower the grade of the highway through the downtown as well as complete reconstruction of "The Beast" interchange. (it really isn't a beast anymore) as well as change the grade of the North/South Highway. The aim of this project was to not only upgrade the highway system downtown, but it was to allow a more...

NHDOT (New Humboldt Dpt. of Transportation) has a project to re-route the East/West Mainline through downtown Fairway, as well as revamp and upgrade the North/South Mainline or highway. Both very big projects. Details include lowering of the highway below normal grade and using an underwater tunnel to cross the river. Fairway's downtown airport is also being moved and improved. The North/South Mainline is also...

Ellwood City

New Humboldt is BACK!! This update is going to focus on a new city I have recently developed in New Humboldt. That city is Ellwood City. Ellwood City is located south west of Fairway. Its population is around 30,000. Overview of current state of Fairway Metro: (location of Ellwood City circled) Ellwood City is in the ring of new development that I have been working on in my spare time. Mostly rural areas outside of Fairway Metro. I have highlighted in white the area I have been developing over the last...

Update

Hey all, No update this go around, but I wanted to let you all know that it may be a while before I can prepare and show a full update on New Humboldt. Real Life has changed quite a bit for me the last month with a new job again, which consumes majority of all my time. I have not gotten hardly any SC4 time in. I promise, I plan to return when I can, but wanted to let those that follow know what's going on. The Ring Road project is still not complete, and I look forward to showcasing that soon! I also, just...

Welcome to Phase 1.1 of the Fairway Ring Road Project! Today we will be focusing on the yellow highlighted area of the project. The scope of this area involves the re-alignment of I-45 south of Fairway, and re-construction of the I-445/I-45 Interchange. Project in Vandenburgh: This is the new alignment of I-45 through Vandenburgh. The purple highlighted area is the location of the new interchange. Yellow hatched area denotes where the existing highway will be taken out. Pics of progress: Area...

Hello! When we last met, I had announced that Fairway was launching a ring road project around the city. The project is now underway and the first phase has been completed. However, documentation was poor and a new company was hired to document any further construction of the project. So Phase 1 documentation is shotty at best. Also, some new developments are causing engineers to go back to the drawing board on Phase 1 as it may not meet the needs of the immediate future. In this update, I will be...

This will be a small update, as I am currently working on said project, but I will have the in depth play by play when it is ready. This will more than likely be a multiple part update. So be on the look out for those. First off, I want to thank everyone for their kind words towards this CJ! I never imagined it would be so liked by the community! THANK YOU! I also appreciate the words of advice towards making the New Humboldt CJ even better. Second: I also want to say that I started a new job two weeks...

New Highway Phase 2

When we last visited Fairway, Phase 1 of the new Loop project was finishing up and phase 2 was being designed. Phase 2 is now complete! Here is the building site for Phase 2: Site work has begun, which includes a lot of property acquisition and removing of buildings and surface streets. Start of construction: Several months later, its starting to look like an interchange! There was some directional changes to the existing route, drivers will be confused at first. Working on final conncetions: Here...

Hello! Finally I am ready to showcase "The Beast". I gave it that nickname, because I believe this is the most complicated RHW interchange I have built yet. Sadly, I did not document as much of the building process , but I do have lost of pictures of the completed project. If you are new here, in my last update on Fairway, I decided I was going to plan a new highway along the river front in the Downtown. It seemed simple in my head, but got out of control quickly. But, I did and its done. Refresher: Here...

Fairway Update

Finally an update on Fairway! Sorry for delay, but life threw a curveball at me. I had to have emergency surgery last Thursday. I am doing better, but didn't get to work on Fairway like I wanted. Until today! I have been slowly developing the city center area by area. Here is the road layout for Fairway. It is still mostly intact as it is. Some minor adjustments were made. Here are some of the highway interchanges in the City Center: This one is my favorite! Overview of the Metro's growth: The...

Fairway Project

Hello everyone!! I have exciting news! I have picked up my SC4 playing as of late and have decided to expand my region of New Humboldt. Claxton has been the only major metro in this region, but I am embarking on a new 2nd metro. It will be known as Fairway. It will connect to Claxton via the regions road network. The Humboldt map is HUGE and my main goal is to fill it! I started a metroplex about two years ago ago on this map, some pics are on ST. I have abandoned it and felt the need to start a fresh...

Hello! In the last update, we left off in Millervile and the proposed new river crossing there. That project is now complete! This is the "proposed" route of the new Reed Highway Bridge over the Williamson River. Sight work and ground breaking have begun on the north end of the project. Ground breaking has also begun on the south end of the project in Allenton. It includes a bypass of Allenton, and an overpass over the train tracks to help with congestion. This is Phase I of a larger highway building...

Millerville

Hello all! Today we are going to focus a little bit on one of my newer developed areas of Claxton: Millerville! (in the yellow circle) Millerville is a larger community east of Claxton Metro. It was developed as a manufacturing town and grew into a nice little city along the Williamson River. It boasts several large companies and a nice quiet small town feel. Here is Millerville a few years back. You can see the Miller Power Company just to the west of town. It helps power majority of the region,...

I have been spending some time working on the outskirts of the Claxton Metro. I am working on a more detailed update, but for now, here is the current region overview! I have added 7 new city tiles to the region: Hoover Haleyville St. Leonard Naperville Brave Millerville Kelly Ridge (ignore my poor cropping abilities.)

Its construction season here in the Claxton Metro, and a busy one at that. The city has seen some pretty big expansions happening and new roads must be built to accommodate the new increase in traffic. First on our tour is a new main corridor in Brighton. The city is expanding pretty rapidly, and new development in the works has forced city leaders to connect two major roadways. This will help spur any new commercial hopefuls. Next up is a new overpass being built to help ease traffic through a rail...

Claxton Update

Sorry for the long wait on this update, but I've been busy! But I have found some time to play SC4 and work on my region. This update is going to focus on the City of Walton. Walton is one of the port cities in the Claxton region and has a pretty significant industrial presence. Here are the beginning stages of the port in Walton. Overview of the whole map. The main drainage ditch that flows out into the bay runs thru Walton. Region map update to include the expansion eastward in Claxton. A nice close...

Claxton Update

This weekends update on Claxton includes two new areas that have been built up. Stanwood, and Tipton Islands! Here is the much requested closer pics of Claxton. This is the CBD of Claxton complete with harbor. This is the home of The Claxton Pirates. Here is the junction of the two main highways that travel through the metro, I-35 and I-40. I-40 turns into I-440 at I-35 and heads west into the CBD and loops back to meet up with I-35 in Stanwood. This is Claxton Memorial Hospital. Claxton Harbor. ...
