Okay, I think this is a cool idea. Your sims need jobs let them work in the middle of the streets. What I want to do now is make timed props so that the market only shows up on the weekends, the rest of the time it is open to traffic.

This looks exactly like a bunch of residential towers right by the Garden State Parkway in Irvington, only in slightly worse shape.

Down to the barriers around it.

USS Lexington (Real World Scale):

Actually, that's the Saratoga, her sister ship, after she got the massive overhaul while in San Diego after being torpedoed just before the Battle of Midway, which is why she missed it. You can tell because she has two sets of five-inch dual-purpose guns fore and aft of the superstructure and stack. In addition, the main superstructure was converted from having the tripod mast into being a rectangular pile for accommodating flag staff and new radar systems.

The Japanese routinely announced sinking the Saratoga, as they always overrated sinkings during the war, but their propagandists seemed to have it in for "Super Sara," because of her unique design and annoying habit of regularly returning from the dead. However, the US did the same thing to the Japanese battleship Haruna, sinking her with Colin Kelly's B-17 on the first week of the war and doing so nearly every week after that until late July 1945, when Admiral Halsey's carriers finally put her out of her misery in Kure Harbor in Japan. By then, Haruna was damaged from Leyte Gulf, battered by lousy maintenance for years, and immobile from the Empire's lack of oil. So she was covered in leaves, to convince the Yanks that she was just a large tree. Didn't work. Haruna was scrapped after the war.

Saratoga fared more strangely. The US government assembled a vast collection of warships off of Bikini Atoll, including three surrendered vessels, Japan's mighty dreadnought Nagato, which had somehow avoided destruction or serious damage, the light cruiser Sakawa, and Germany's "lucky" heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen. The rest included memorable names like USS Nevada, USS Pennsylvania, USS Arkansas, USS Independence, and Saratoga. They were joined by scores of transports, destroyers, and submarines, and were loaded with various farm animals and sensing devices. The purpose of this bizarre fleet was to test the efficiency of not one but two atomic bombs, and the US Air Force wiped out the defenseless ships. They also wiped out the defenseless US Sailors who went aboard the ship with pressure hoses to clean up the ships that didn't sink between the two tests, but that took a little longer. After the second test, Saratoga went to Davy Jones's Locker. However, today the island of Bikini is making a big buck out of recreational scuba diving on the sunken ships, including Saratoga, which is shallow enough that divers can walk on.

Here's USS Saratoga (CV-3).

Yes, I put it with palm trees, but you could replace them with trees that grow in N.J.

Following on from the first set of functional cul-de-sacs comes the 'master planned' community (or housing estate for those of us outside the US).

I've made a bunch of new houses for this. These are real homes from a texas home builder (50' wide lots which correspond to 16m in SC4). The following lots are 10x10

They are functional:

...and I will also release the houses individually (1x1,1x2 & 2x2 lots)for more traditional-style suburb building:

This was the final straw for me! I had to re-download SC4 after a long hiatus. Seeing all this fabulous content being created gave me the itch to restart. Breathtaking work!!

For my own selfish needs, i think the best height for such building is 4-10 floors. More than 10 makes a single one of these blocks hard to integrate into a city. IRL most such taller buildings exist together, all built at the same time rather than growing in a 4x4 lot or smaller.

I do think a cool idea would be 8x8 or 10x10 mega lots with several taller versions arranged in union on the same lot, with parking and open space included. But this may not match your vision! :)

I wont do it again. 2,8GB are installed so far. Much more are waiting to visit my Plugin Folder. But it goes much faster right now, the most Textures and Props are installed. Without any brown Boxes.... Only one Lot are making Problems.. SM2´s Central Train Station. But it should be fixed soon.

Hope im done with it this Sommer :-D

Maybe i should stop downloading new Lots?

This aircarrier is so big (283m) that GMAX wouldn't let me export it in HD.

I like it no matter which ship it is! *:thumb:

You know, you can delete missing dependencies in LotEditor and make your own new lot with exactly what you want on it. Even change the lot size. I do it all the time, now. If I like the building but the other stuff I can take or leave, I leave it. Mostly what I get rid of are car props and trees i don't like. There must be 10B car packs by now.
