I decided to try out Lot Editor and give a transport hub a facelift. Not bad for first try, IMHO. Complete with seasonal props. O'boy their is a lot of props, thats a big list and took most of the time. Need to format that system.

This lot was plain to me and I thought it needed some life and action going on. I also remove the hidden road on the left side that was covered by overlays. It would make it look like people were driving on the pedestrian plaza. And then I made it look like something people would want to hang out at.

I've used that more than a few times! Great rendition!

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Although not actually designed for FAR roads (it was actually designed to fit the angle of CP's overlay textures), it's close enough, so I'll make it a CS$$ ploppable as well when it's released...

Quite a nice building. Any chance for a straight and/or 45 versions? This would allow to make large areas using these buildings.

It would be great if you can do a 7.5 metre tall set, as all model based embankments are 15 metres tall

I'm not 100% sure, but according to the image above, it doesn't have unique bottom part, it's just the same as the wall itself, so technically it should fit betwen 0-15.5 meters anywhere easily. Those walls are more problematic regarding heights where the bottom part is different from the rest of the wall (like it contains graffity etc...), like marking in a way, that that part is the bottom. Like Bipin's Walls. It's still not a big issue, though.

You can find textures for starter here: https://www.textures.com/ You need an account and you can only download like 15 of them a day. I advise getting a screenshot tool to take a screenshot of the texture. It doesn't really matter if it's not high resolution since SC4 is small.

Also do keep something in mind.... Most BATers make their own textures..  That website is nice as a base then you can go from there and create your own using different resources. There are even textures on the STEX. To create textures get a software like Photoshop (Paid) or GIMP (Free).

@mattb325 Thank you very much for making the straight and 45 versions! I will make great use of these.

Pretty nice.

But there are more Lights needed... (every 2 Tiles? ). And Please... no red Lights! I would put em in the Middle of the Lot (Try light blue).

Good Job like always Mathew, Oliver

@davide1983it, the textures are made by me (it's just a colour with a noise and stains/dirt), but there are plenty of sites available that provide photographs as art128 said...

One thing that has always frustrated me in SC4 is the inability to make individual streets/roads special. Often councils put unique structures, different types of trees, different paving etc in their main shopping street that clearly shows it is separate from surrounding areas. Sure we have T21s and SAM, but that only does so much. For instance, you often see structures such as this built over main shopping streets:

Btmnvep.jpg

So I made one as a series of bus stops (1x1 which overhangs 1x4 so you can add more than one together to fill a road)

xFfwlBT.jpgVyN08cs.jpg

Something like this can give you a 'green road' while being a functional bus stop (and all the automata is visible through the canopy structure)

The idea can be re-purposed - for instance, most cities have a china-town. This is a super easy way to make the roads appear unique in the china town district:

aTGIiwB.jpg

G5byind.jpg

qshBwpM.jpg

LgPxnkM.jpg

ISiHj6n.jpg

Is this something of interest? If so, I'll package it up and release it (I might even add a few different types of structures)....

Yes, yes yes!!!  I love creating little districts and what not around my cities, these would be perfect to add some flair.  Kind of reminds me of the Fremont Street Experience in Vegas.

Only thing I would recommend is making one without the bus stop, just a TE enabled road piece.  If I was doing a little covered shopping street I wouldn’t want large buses rumbling down the center.

Otherwise, they’re perfect!
