Lookie-lookie, here's my first officially published region for SimCity 4!!

 

 

I present you: my first full-scale, real world map, representing western Puerto Rico!!

 

This is the first of a series of maps I'll be publishing from Puerto Rico and other Caribbean jurisdictions. At present I intend to publish maps of these places at some point:

Puerto Rico: San Juan, Arecibo, Caguas, Ponce, Humacao, Guayama, northeast Puerto Rico

Dominican Republic: Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros, Puerto Plata, Samaná Peninsula

Virgin Islands: Santa Cruz, St. Thomas, Tortola, St. John, Virgin Gorda, full archipelago

Trinidad and Tobago: north and south half

I am finally back at this game for a year not playing this.

This first screenshot is me recreating the same city from the installer screenshot for the nth time! NTH TIME! (with some modern tricks this time)

Made some more skyline changes and added some newer BATs.  Also moved the Guardian Building down a block so it's longer facade could front a major street.  Completed a bit more of the Waterfront Greenway as well.

There are a few things I've been working on.

Firstly I've been experimenting with GIMP trying to create a dark nite photoshop effect, for more pictures check out my latest CJ entry and some massive diagonal scenes.

 

Secondly I've been working on Cindersville and fleshing out the diagonal and FA areas. Overhangs are brilliant to work with because you can either add basic park lots or go full on MMP!

 

Thirdly I've been pushing the city boundaries to where the steep slopes of the valley begin. The final version will have all the natural woodland infilled with MMPs and the grassland having a minimal MMP saturation of wild flowers and bushes.

Ok, I've reached quite a major milestone with regards to building my city and decided to share some of my work...... since i'm still quite fairly new to this i'm not quite sure of the rules regarding relots and prop use for personal projects.... none of the lots will be shared and if you spot a relot of yours please don't be offended as it has only been done to suit my city style apologies also in advance for the long winded post, there's lots to show... i've been working on this for around a year now, on and off... 

anyway here goes... this is the main view on the part of my West Island i've completed so far

I've picked a few pics of favourite parts of the City so far.....

Here we have 1 of the Lighthouses located on the left Island of the group of lower right islands..

The Coastguard Base located on the lower edge of the City...

Here we have the Container Port Bridge...

Nice Shopping area for the sims, with a Cinema on the lower right....

Container freight loading... There's a diesel engine there to pull the carriages into position for an electrified engine to take over... can't have overhead cables whilst cranes are loading

 

Now onto transport... Here we have the train depot which caters for the Commuter and Hsr trains within the City.. I see a lot of posts about road interchanges, so here's a depot with a rail interchange

 

Here's the Heavy rail to High Speed transition... Purely cosmetic, but needs to feed the Illusion of the train depot receiving Hsr Trains as seen on the left of the depot...

Now onto a couple of custom lots....

A fully operational Police station with motor pool and functioning Helicopter.... I've built 2 separate motor pools, 1 with and 1 without the Helipcopter

 

I was severely disappointed with the lack of Ghsr stations available, especially in length, so I decided to make my own... It's far from the best, I only used props available, but it's good enough for what I was after... It's fully functional as you can see, but since so far it's the only station on the line there aren't very many users

Now I'm playing with the houses of Haarlemmergold, I bump into things. One of them is the upgrading of the houses from lw to mw. Corina's no kick out mod does it's job, but I wan't to have a more save feeling.

So I thought, what if they can't change...So lw is max 1 tile deep and mw is minimal 2 tiles deep. In this case they can't transform and I never have to worry. Yes, yes, yes, always the same houses, always the same thing. Minor change here, minor change there. But hey, I like it, so keep playing!

Bazel & Mullhouse-Freiburg IV !

Bazel progress steadely progresing; Mullhouse-.Freiburg site tile long mentioned in the description finaly is ready to show !

Mullhouse still some development. Freiburg and the Schwarzwald forest I have a little kind of Schwarzwald bahn and Donau Essingen !

Donau Essingen compromise the sourche of the Donau river; ANNO Europe little fantasy feature !

Freiburg on top of the picture, start or the end of the Schwarzwald bahn nicely shaped; allthought in reality much larger !

Hello everyone,

This is my first time posting anything. I use my imagination when I lay out my Regions and a grid pattern. So here it is "Navy Base of Cross Anchor". If you couldn't guess that I am a Proud Navy Vet. Hope you enjoy it.

Mulhouse-Freiburg "action" !

Mulhouse area  slightly  filled up with canals and agraculture and the place of Mulhouse and Colmar !  All growables are now responding as it should so. We start this tile up  !

Some zones showing the ussal crap; style afther so many cities is a virtue !

Historic Freiburg growable may be customized. Industry north of Bazel is removed to first let the agricultral plots grow !

Dresden aswell will be started if the conditions are there so see you   !

A few slight tweaks to the roundabout area (shown in the last post). Shifted the red C.P. FA factory south of the highway and put in some smaller FA buildings...

 

The city is hugging that FA NAM highway quite nicely!
