I guess you should talk to @reddonquixote about this. He has already finished several buildings of low Manhattan, so you both could coordinate to avoid duplicates.

And, of course, if such coordination happens, it would be nice to invite people from the NYBT to come back to contribute too! There is a legacy to keep there...

I would love to contribute, to learn little by little to recreate something that I am passionate about as it is for my New York. If you are looking for someone for something, I would like you to meet me too. A hug friends! :D

You know, I have no modelling skills at all, I'm just hinting at people who has done similar works before, to avoid redundancies.

Looks like the base of something very futuristic, like a small fusion reactor, a wormhole, or even a machine that creates small universes.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

I wanted to do a mega region... so I decided on this map:

And then spent the past 2 months terraforming and planting forest... and finally its done:

    wynchwood1.jpg

The peninsula was not tree'ed as that is where the mega city will go.. planning on 10 million sims crammed onto that peninsula and a satellite of cities and bedroom communities feeding into it as well. The region will be called Wynchwood, theme is autumn.

    Question!

This image was generated from that region census program right?
I am using the Ring of Fire too but I get errors when I want to view it - region is too large
    How did you do that?

    Looks freaking amazing btw!

I used the 4GB patch on it. I also used Print Screen to pull the image out of Region Census as I could not get it to properly export the image. This could be eithier program error or GPU error. And thank you the comment !

Wonderful - I'll give that a 4GB patch a try on it. Good idea using screen capture rather than export too.

    Thanks @redfox85!

We need to make a list of how many active players are using this mega-region just to see all differences in terraforming / planning styles!

Because I think the red roof houses next to each other are a little bit boring and for the  sake of friendliness, I am going to start a serie of ploppable blocks.

This is the result of a first try. Not to many props, because I’m afraid it is going to get overwhelmed, not to less, because it may get boring.

The back between the houses seems more English to me, but I couldn’t find an other prop that was narrow (hedge is to wide) and short.

I like the wooden fence, but if you look close, then you see the gates are not corresponding with the gardens.

Plenty to do, so keep going.

    Your relots are amazing!

One day I might use them for a strictly British/European city...

Inspired by @That Retro Guy's communities in his Prepping my First Region topic, I'm creating a city made by mini communities

Each community has a central agricultural zone (and maybe some industries later), surrounded by residential and commercial zones. The communities will be connected each other by roads and avenues. Mass transit, like subways and even tram lines, are also in the plan.

After placing the layout, I started to play and develop the city a bit. It's not ready, so I can't show you it yet. But I can show you some of the developed communities.

It looks very functional. I always like to see what the future might look like -- and what you're doing with it, visually. I understand the rationale behind the concept, --and I love that this future of yours in not a megalopolis, but smaller communities ; but I must confess it looks too taylorised for me, if you see what I mean -- industrialized, cookie-cutterized, griddified to the max, in short “Utopian“ in the dystopian sense. No fantasy, no place for nature per se, i.e. the unregulated and unexploited natural, chaotic, free world. It feels grim. Although I also understand too well how this might be the best we can hope for...

You make me want to play with tram at last -- I was never really tempted before...

But now we're gonna need some snazzier version of tram CARS. The current little lego-like versions are not very inspiring. Perhaps we could ask @Goldman Sachs ?

    I mean, come on ! *:D

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.
