Thank you, in my opinion the NAM team did a stellar job for making all of this possible. The industry area along side the rail was something that made train journeys (travelling with NS is a journey in itself but that's another thing entirely) rememberable and it compliments quite well together. In short that's what I had in mind when I created this part of town.

@simmytu The way you laid everything out here is brilliant!  I am just in love with the way you arranged the diagonal lots inside the rail bend! That's a clever alternative to the awkward jagged patterns I have been building in my own cities!

@simmytu I too think that was a clever way to deal with that inside curve of the rail and the overall layout looks fantastic . :thumb:

@matias93 The MMP'ing looks cool and those RL images are beautiful .

@Dreadnought this looks really good!  I like the "tri-city" approach and I'm eagerly awaiting to see the progress it makes while growing.  I was curious of your marsh area - moreover to your technique, actually.  Is the swamp itself MMP or did you simply lower the terrain a little to get the shallow, brackish water?  The MMP work is excellent, btw, and I know it's a lot of work but the end results are priceless IMO!  I think it's all superb!  Nice herons too.  I haven't seen those MMPs before.

Yo, guy --

Thanx much for the kind words.  No matter how well you think you're doing -- it's always nice to hear that someone appreciates your work

The Herrons are in an MMP pack on a French site -- "Toutes Cities" -- or something like that.  (I think the kayaks are in the same pack.)  Alas, I never thought to bookmark that location and it's been years since I was there.  I'm sure someone here can find a link for you.  Right, Guys ??

I run the PEG Brigantine water Mod -- which will give you several different colors of water and transparency -- depending upon how much you lower the terrain underwater.  It takes a bit of trial and error to get it shallow enough for the cattails to show.  The grayish bottom color comes from the Meadowshire Terrain Controller I have installed.  If you wish to change the bottom color, an MMP sand is usually sufficiently effective to do the trick.  The two colors of cattails are Girafe's wonderful MMP's.  I've got some pics of bridge work coming up that you should like.

I had it in mind to go for a "minimalist" approach to the landscape (i.e., little or none at all) -- but I just can't bring myself to stop plopping trees.  I've even created about 30 tree filler lots to get just the right look for certain spots in the game.  (I'm still lost as to how to fill in a Nam wide curve.)

Thanks, again, for the encouragement -- that's enough to keep me going until "Sherlock" comes on !! :thumb:

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Thanks for the info.  It's all very interesting and it definitely works well, as you've shown.  I never stop learning and I really enjoy looking at what other people, especially experienced players, do to get the results they get.  I will check the French exchange for those MMPs!  I also really like those cattails by girafe.  Thanks.

Really looking forward to the bridges!  I love bridges!

Trees are good and you've got good trees - and, I know what you mean!  I always feel like I need more trees too.  I don't know if it's any help but @murimk has some really nice fillers for NAM curves, mostly park and plaza lots.  He's also got some nice industrial curve fillers too.  They overhang nicely on the smooth NAM network 90 and 45 degree curves.  You've probably seen them but here's the link if you want to take a look.  Maybe they can fill in a curve or two??

Thanks again for sharing!  I'm looking forward to seeing more develop in Wilhelmshaven West.

Holland ANNO RHW Interchanges !

Worked hard on the RHW interchanges; stubborn US yellow line still dominate, instaled NAM with euro textures and Maartens Euro texture Mod still, only ramps have the right texture !

The Haghue Northern ringroad connection to the A4 Highway !

HA%2002_zpsd0egfjpl.jpg

Old interchange between A4 and A12 highways, currently it´s a all fly over spiderweb called Prins Clausplein

HA%2003_zpscxopfpll.jpg

A12 viaduct bridging the rijn-schie canal and some part of Voorburg into The Haghue, canal part to come at the right !

Hope you enjoyed it and maybe help with the yellow line problem, reruned it with NAM 35 no change !

Sincerely yours,

So I just finished this segment of the Beach at Faiara Beach. Still have to redo  the section to the south of this segment in Aitra Beach , and the segment to the north of this one where it takes that 90 degrees corner.

Since I haven't posted any ingame images in a while , I figured I'd show a relot I did of the upload of Nos.17. I have to thank TWrecks again for his ever so useful filler lots .

The top 70's Safeway can be found Here on the STEX and those great fillers can be found HERE also on the STEX . Thanks for the uploads , you guys are very talented and I love your work . Below , the lower Safeway is the one I re-lotted . I kept the lot the same size and I think it turned out pretty nice . Comments and suggestions welcome .

EDIT  I didn't change any props , just the base texture and removed a few overlay textures .

WORK IN PROGRESS --

THE JADE BIGHT II

WILHELMSHAVEN WEST:

(Click to make bigger.)

Yo, guys --

These two pics show the continued development of the city -- some industry going in on the northeast -- more commercial and residential to the east and south -- and the addition of a hill mass to the north of the business district for the Baseball stadium and future commercial growth.

IM2g1uP.jpg

This Overview required two shots -- East and West -- (the map has started to fill up and simply doesn't fit the screenshot any longer).

WEST

And here we have the cemetery.  I had this odd shaped space between two rail lines and hit on the idea of putting the obligatory burial ground out of the way in the southwest corner of town.  I used Paeng's multi-plot cemetery replacement rather than the Maxis multiple cemetery scheme.  The cemetery is central to the grounds with a small adjoining chapel, and there are two "reflective" memorial parks as well.  I rather enjoyed filling in this probably useless space with this bit of creative thinking (lol).

Nice scenes, but they would look even nicer with the UDI icons disabled and with the Yellow Pause Thingy Remover installed.

Yes, I was thinking the same thing.  To tell the truth; I didn't even think about it until after they were up and then I noticed them.  I see the link for the pause screen (thank you very much!) but how do you disable the UDI icons?  Is it a keyboard shortcut?  I'd love to have them gone from the game anyway because they're always in the way.

On the Sim menu, look for the UDI sub menu, and there is a button on the end that looks like divided in two, it's the UDI icons switch. It's effects should be persistent through savings, so you'll need to do this once for city tile.

And by the way, you can use a cheat code to drive almost any automata: Ctrl + X; "udriveit" (without quotation marks) and then left click on the desired automata.

Well, after loads of time with my old region (Nueva Montes, actually Eaton from Jhipolito with some modification) which I didn't like much because the lack of mountains and how I planned originally the main city; I'm creating a new one, Nueva Nueva Montes, made from a mix of maps, though still needs some tweaking with terraformer. I'm inspiring in Valencia for the main city geography, and I'm at the moment creating the harbour.
