To be honest, I like the both walls. But the real question is: Which will be the best in the game ? The first, I think to an old concrete washed by the time, and the second to an new concrete piece recently built.

Maybe, you can fo a mix of the two version ...

I think that the well-defined version is better (#2) because it should be easier to see from more distant zooms (one of the reasons for the texture design of the RRW over at SC4Devotion). We can always make it less definitive (more washed out) in Photoshop, but it's not really possible to bring out details (or at least, it's much harder).

 

I also like that the second version seems clearer, as well.

I've more or less gone with the second version. There is a slight assimilation of the first version into the second, but it is barely noticeable. The second version is indeed where it's at!

It's weird, despite having the same userbase more or less, certain websites wholeheartedly suggest HD, whilst others suggest SD.

HD render is gorgeous, but I still to think, SC4 was not done for using HD. And near others creations, it will be too odd to see HD with SD.

I´m for the SD render.

Well, I've always been an SD nazi, with generous exceptions being made (on rare occasions) for objects such as street signs or similar, maybe up to the size of a bus stop shelter. Then again, I'm not really active on other sites.

SD, no doubt, the game was made for it, so putting in too much HD will somewhat screw up the overall looks.

I've always been a hardcore HD supporter, so I will point to HD if you get to solve that grain problem. And if not... I simply like HD too much.
