built this monstrosity which somewhat resembles a deep sea creature/the female reproductive system

does anyone have any advice to how better execute the MIS lanes and roundabouts? it looks really messy to me

IrQfPBP.png

Maybe rejoining the MIS in a RHW2 which arrives as a conventional road to the roundabouts. You could even use inner-side ramps to get a RHW-2 in the middle of the southbound highway, reducing the need for roundabouts to a central one. Last but not least, you should consider to smooth the curves of the elevated highways, we don't want to see flying cars in your interchange.

thank you! unfortunately there dont seem to be inside D1 mis lanes in NAM32 as what you're suggesting is what i was originally trying to do, but if they are a part of 33 i may download the prerelease.

NAM 33's pre-release does indeed have a lot more of what you're looking for with the ramp interfaces, as well as 2-lane 45-degree FLEXFlys, which would allow you some smoother transitions there as well.  One thing to note is that all the new ramp interface functionality in 33 is in the form of FLEXRamps or Draggable Ramp Interfaces (DRIs), as we've stopped making puzzle piece versions, and are relegating the ones that have gotten FLEX/DRI implementations to legacy support.

North Diamond Suburb Morning Commute.jpg

Using MHW? I like it, it had a lot of potential, specially in cities with narrow right-of-way available. In any case, I think you could archieve a way more urban look sinking the highway and connecting it to its sorroundings with ramps for viaducts (that match perfectly when the trench is done to -15 meters).

For reference, check this masterful exectution of a CBD with MHW by Weixc812:

One thing I would suggest is to start your WB to NB ramp a few tiles to the east, so that it can go under the NB to WB ramp. This will eliminate the weaving here.

-One small ramp would need to be added for NB traffic to continue NB
-EDIT: One additional ramp can allow SB traffic to continue SB

If I'm right, that's two times OWR3, and Rivit's tunnel mod includes a tunnel for OWR3. So I guess that's how he does it.

sometimes simple answers are the best answers...

I was in need of a good-looking yet functional - and for that matter high flow - 4way interchange which had to connect my east-west arterial highway with a north-south part of a perimeter highway. found the inspiring design in this post, just had to spice it up a notch to meet capacity needs:

I sort of love this new interchange of mine. Just realized my airport cargo terminal needs some woosh-ish connection to a highway system... so why not connect it to a highway with a highway?

oh and also it was sort of a fun to build interchange as well... might need some plastic surgery but meh, it exists.

Not bad, but you should download NAM 33 (if you haven't already) and use the new FlexFlys. There is now a 45-degree elevated L1 flexfly so you can use that to smooth out the sharp curves you currently have.

    I have 33.

Thing is I wanted to but the flexfly turns out buggy over diagonal RHW6 (at least it did in all tests I performed), that's why I didn't use it

btw: The 45° curves are smoothed out already. Gotta build it bigger to make this 90° turns smoother

Oh yeah, you unfortunately can't put flexFlys over diagonal RHW. And there are 45-degree FlexFlys; you could use those.

First real attempt at an interchange. I used NAM 32 for this one. Feel free to pick it apart!

It's probably quite simple but seemed to take an age to build.
