I have a fairly simple request, related to aviation lots. I am working on a large airport and I want to include a runway approach lighting system. The ones provided by the RMIP look the best out of what's currently available, but i'm tired of having to build up an ugly peninsula just to accommodate the lot it sits on. So the one thing I ask is for a set of approach lights that don't require being on a  huge lot and can even go over water and iffy terrain. I'd prefer a 2x1 lot size if possible.

Unfortunately, my lotting skills are limited and I have too many projects of my own to deal with. If anyone can pick this one up, you would make me very happy!

You probably want to look into Jenx's modular airport packs.

I have them already, but I don't really care for them for two reasons: they seem a bit overscaled for one and the other problem I run into is they never line up on center with non-jenx runways.

Oracle HQ/Generic Corporate Headquarters

Oracle-Stock-News.jpg

Description:

These are corporate headquarters, or gleaming office parks often located in suburban areas in much of North America.

I have a general request for some more midrise suburban office buildings, much like the ones you'd find in a full-blown business park, or as the headquarters for some major corporation. Basically, the premise is several different variations on theme for a building, which only differ in terms of orientation, shape and height/number of floors. From the Oracle example above, there are around 4 height variations of the building on the left, while the right side has a curved version and one featuring two of the circular features found on every one of these. In more general terms, I'm just looking at strange-shaped (L, X, Z etc.), diagonal, and FA versions for any generic looking office building.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

There is a lack of diagonal/FA angled buildings that aren't meant for W2W usage. These would be amazing for recreating large corporate campuses, and I think they'd add an extra dynamic for suburbs in SC4, in addition to our standard boxy counterparts. Plus, I have a feeling these would be quite fun to lot!

Is there a chance anyone can make Interstate Highway signs?  I have a few, but there are not many at all to go around.  There used to be a bunch of them available on the STEX years ago, but have found very few lately.  If someone was willing to make some, I would be greatly appreciative.

I really don't mind if you made a bat that's just a black pyramid with lights and the Maxis spinx landmark attached somewhere near the front entrance and maybe some palm trees, i just need this so badly for my Vegas based city haha. As long as it's bright and pretty like the real thing

No promises, but the more I see these, the more I think you are not exactly asking for the moon on a stick.

For the main buildings (left side), once you'd made the ground floor and first floor, the remainder could be handled with an array (i.e. 3DS max makes them for you). With dark enough windows, you wouldn't have to model or texture a huge amount of detail inside the buildings, whilst keeping them realistic either. Plus, the computer nerd in me likes the disk/platter design of them too. Sure beats the gloomier Oracle campus in Reading which I've passed on the motorway enough times.

I may take a crack at them, especially if one of my favourite lotters wants to take one of those tasks I hate off my hands :).

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Thank you

Not that I know of. It would be near on impossible to create a matching set without the original model files. Since those were never released publically I'd say the chances of getting hold of them were pretty much 0% :(.

I have two requests, if possible.

For one, I tried using the American Indian Mayor Mode Ploppables, but despite gathering all the necessary dependancies, I still get Brown Boxes. If someone could make a lot that is Native American themed, I would appreciate it.

For another request, something University of Arizona themed would be sweet.

If anyone makes those, please let me know. And if you require compensation of some sort--whether directly, or to the site--let me know as well.

Perhaps you misunderstand how this thread works?

The chances of someone seeing this thread and going "Ah, yes... that's what I want to make" is very slim. This thread is not intended to be a place where requests get picked up on and created as a matter of course. It was started by those who wanted to see certain content in the game, but don't know how or have the time to make it themselves.

When I tell you that the average SC4 model takes a minimum of 10 hours work, though more often it's a labour of love over many months with countless hours put in. Perhaps you will see why very few such requests ever get made. If you are lucky, you may pique someone's interest, but the reality is that most creators have specific goals. Given the shear amount of work it takes to get a model, most requests simply go unnoticed or unfulfilled.

Columbia Seafirst Center

Description: Columbia Center (formerly Bank of America Tower and Columbia Seafirst Center) is the tallest skyscraper in the downtown Seattle skyline and the tallest building in the State of Washington. At 287.4264 m (943.000 ft) it is currently the second tallest structure on the West Coast (after Los Angeles's 73-story, 1,018-foot U.S. Bank Tower).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_Center

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

I think the model from the ingame is very good and maybe someone could make it a growable without the plaza since there are none in the exchange. It would make use of an existing model that is in the game.

Thank you! I didn't know there was a file already. I like that it's in a 4x4 base with jobs but I miss the navy blue color from the game version. Oh well, but I will try it out anyway. :thumb:

Hello everybody, there is a stadium in my hometown, Mexico City, that I haven't seen in the STEX. It's name is the Estadio Olímpico Universitario (Olympic Universitary Stadium in English). Here's the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estadio_Ol%C3%ADmpico_Universitario

And here some photos:

Seeing as how this year is the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Jutland --

Has it crossed anyone's mind to make a couple of water-ploppable German dreadnoughts??

We do have naval bases available in the game -- but not much in the way of stand-alone ships.

If anyone is interested -- PM me and I'll send you all the pictures and plan views you need.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

This request might be a little unorthodox but i would love to see these twin towers from the adventure game Grim Fandango in Sc4.

I think it would also be cool to see Walker Tower and One Fifth Avenue from Manhattan in a Bat

^ You can use the LE for this one lol

Well as for request I'd probably appreciate if people made more CO$$$, stage 6-7-8 buildings for lot sizes of 2x3/3x2, because I really hate it when Wren Insurance keeps popping up everywhere just because it's the only building of that could grow on such a lot size.

Ramsey Building, Winter Park, Florida

eyJpbnR5cGUiOiIyIiwidXJsIjoiL01vYmlsZVZp

Description:

Built in 1882, the building is one of the oldest in this town. It was remodeled in 1914 to it's current look, and has served as a drug store for many years.

Why this would be beneficial to the game and community:

There are too few small commercial buildings in Simcity 4. For small towns, and central city sections, we need a wider variety of small 19th/20th century structures that contribute to a community both in historical context, and for realistic purposes. Nearly all North American communities have buildings similar in design to the one i've requested, but have been mostly overlooked by the SC4 community.

Description

I am requesting Campbell Center from Dallas, Texas.

There are 2 towers, both about 20 stories highth.jpg.b1d68c08d81468b9fc30df3369335ff9.

Why I think this would be beneficial to the game and/or community

I think this would be good to add to the large lack of small high rise buildings. The only one around this height in SC4Deluxe Vanilla is Wong Insurance.

Lately I thought there could be many buildings that reflect modern times.

Some Internet and Cable-TV providers. A better moviestudio - or TV and news production companies, Internet café, amazon store with amazon truck automatas.

Some kind of terror defence units/bases/.

domicils of strange political  parties (maybe they should be fictional).

More gyms.

Don't know how they are named in english, but there are marketing organisations specialized on "public marketing", that means they advertise for political idears, for community changes. There are some actions you can take as a major, some campaigns, but today city gouvernements tends to assign them to non gouvernal agencies. Or at least there could be more bureaus - a bureau for traffic reduction, a bureau for recycling management.

Foundations and social organisations, futurology agencies.

A prop set to realize urban farming on the roofs (not always helicopter landings).

Urban living currently changes much. And I think SC4 could reflect this.

A city that consists only of residentials, industries, bank offices and parks seems a little poor to me. If I walk through my little hometown I see so many buildings with different functions - even if on the tecnical level they're all would be commercials in SC4 at least on the visual level they could represent a broader spectrum.

But ... hm ... maybe ... it's a real life fact, that the most exciting skyscrapers are always built by banks and assecurations and not by non profit organisations?

All my cities become banking cities, when they grow big. For one who doesn't believe that money heals everything ... that's frustrating.

EDIT (3 days later):

I have to apologize for this post. Thinking about it again - it's mostly a request for lotting, not for batting. For batting you could reduce this request to a simple task: more generic, more multi-usable bats.

Like for example a generic round arena with black coloured glass facade you could use as a modern opera, a sports centre, a shopping center, a museum, a conference center, a concert hall  ... I can imagine so many lots with a bat similar to the one in the picture below. So please, if some batter stumbles on this, maybe you can give it a thought.

Like for example this one, the congress center in Frankfurt, Germany:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Sorry for double post

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Had this idear too. I think this can be done by lotting, there are enough models around to realize it. I'll hope I can make some modular motorway stations one of my next lotting project.

Wouldn't that be a good idear for a lotting challenge? :???:
