About This File

Have you grown tired of those Maxis textures on your lots? Here's another little mod - a texture replacement actually - that will replace every occurence of these too much seen parking textures with newer textures.

The mod is separated in 2 parts, one for the $ wealth level and the other for $$-$$$.

Also, as can be seen in the mosaic, dimensional changes were kept to a minimum to avoid misplaced props issues, so things should run smooth on that side too.

Installation

To use this, simply toss the folder in your plugins. I'm unaware of other texture mods of this kind so anywhere in your folder should be fine, but note that a few textures are from the BSC texture packs, so if you use them ensure the mod loads after.

More!

Now that the textures are updated, how about updating the Maxis cars that sits on them? I strongly recommend you to get the Car Automata Pack 1.0 or any of mikeseith's car replacements available here on the STEX. Goodbye outdated Maxis parkings :D

No dependencies

Nice one dude, will these work on the edu/reward/medical parking lots? Or is it strictly wealth dependant?

You're on a parking lot frenzy lately. I'll have to check this one out to see how it looks.

about time someone replaced those- even on plug ins some use the standard maxis lots- never could figure out why

I think you should add shading along the curbs. Besides the Maxis parking lots having boring rectangular lines, I think lack of shading also contributed to how bland they looked.

@Whiterabbit: yes, all the lots where the textures are used

@infamous: yes, and I still have some cards in my sleeves :P

@Titanic, rivit, night2build: thanks!

@Jamonbread: err probably but things could quickly get out of hand also ppl would probably be pissed if they have to replace props

@Shy Dude: although it's neat idea, I tried but it does not really improve the final result. Textures are too dark to apply shading I guess

You were right, it does improve the final result nicely. Many thanks for the suggestion!!!

Oh no, I don't think this is too dark, I was messing around making a texture replacement mod quite similar to this one with a darker texture and found that even the slightest drop-shadow effect along the curb really gave the textures some dimension. You've sort of inspired me to finish it up actually :)

The textures blend so nicely with the game, more like an upgrade rather than a replacement.  I also really appreciate you leaving the choice of automata up to us instead of requiring we download some car pack. Well Done.

I noticed in the "after" image there is still grass attached to the lower left hand texture.  Is this intentional for some reason or just an omission?
