Whoa ! , another stunning release from SBT..

I think the big draw here is the outstanding work done on the
night lighting. Otherwise that bat was a solid 5 rating in my book
nice job with this Tommy and hope to see more great content
coming from the SBT team soon :)

Pretty good guys, overall it's a good BAT. I especially like the time taken to do the nightlites (or so it seems) very nice job there.

Things I see are the solar panels--I think that's what they are--are too saturated and dark of a blue, and don't have enough variation in color like real solar panels, which vary from a more blue, to a more gray blue. With the roof entrance, from what I can tell from the images shown, there is no door on it. Instead of implying details, model them out when they are like that. The HVAC unit thing on the roof also should have a bit less of a white texture. It's too bright the way it is in my opinion. The windows could use quite a bit of work, though I'm not sure how to improve them within gmax rather than 3ds max besides making a complex texture. Finally the white horizontal and vertical bar things seem a bit weird imo. It seems that they are much too big or something--the big one looks to be 5 feet by 5 feet or so which just looks off. You could probably add some sort of concrete texture to them as well, right now they look a bit too clean. Next time why not make an SBT thread on simtropolis? That way you can get more feedback like this before release next time.

Anyways, good luck with your future releases. I look forward to seeing them and what the SBT can do next.

Thanks for your feedback, and I should mention the following. Doors are modeled on both the top of the elevator shaft (access hatch) and the roof access, but they are not visible because of the angle. They are there though. As for the textures, the might seem a little clean, but they are there to resemble a newer building, and one that is taken care of (Doesn't hurt to have someone power-wash the cement occasionally :)). The HVAC unit textures are also trying to resemble realistic textures, as research has gone into these textures too. If you could see the detail of certain areas, I think you would understand the time and effort that has gone into making the roof junk not junky.
The columns are 1 meter x 1 meter also.

And we are based out of Simmania, but expanding our outreach is not out of the question.
Thanks for your feedback!

Ok, sounds good. Yea, HVAC textures are pretty bland :| I do think that there should be more variation with the concrete though. Even brand new concrete has lots of variation in color. Definitely worth spending extra time to get it exactly right. Though most people won't be able to tell that there's a bit of variation in your texture, it will add an overall quality to your BAT.

I hate the lack of edit for this :( anyways, I wanted to also say that there are few things in real life that don't vary just a little bit. Anyways, take a good look at some new concrete building, and really look at it. You'll notice some darker spots and lighter spots and there's a bit of a grainy texture to it. That's what you should try to mimic with your textures you put in your building.

I should mention that the texture is not plain concrete, it is actually concrete brick, that was a mistake by me. And some new textures are not out of the question, a v2 might come out with some changes.

And bmullins0118, I have updated the download file to include manual install, and instructions are above, or in the README. Hope this helps!

I'd love to see a V2. This could compete well with the small Maxis offices. :) Do you have a BAT Thread on ST? I'd love to follow and shed some advice if you'd like to take some from me.

Great work, I'd agree with what Darn has mentioned. It came out pretty well, but with some more work it can come out great. ;)

Congratulations on ya'll's 5th release!

Much has been said already, so I'll restrict my comment to the lot. While I like it in general, one point is that if you want to stick to a Maxis-like layout (which is perfectly fine), it may be best to use medium-wealth textures for a medium-wealth building, too. I also think that those large trees are too close to the building. I do like those strict rows of manicured bushes in front of the building, though.

I really like the shape and look of this building, feeling we need more of these suburban offices. Good but with some tweaks it could be great as mentioned.

I agree with the trees. They are literally growing inside the building, too close making the building look very odd. The bushes are nice, but they seem to be growing in the sidewalk--a wider area for them would be good. If possible, that area should be mulch/dirt, not grass--not sure if that's possible to make dirt/mulch so YMMV.

This doesn't relate to your lot, but I would like to see parking lots with handicap spaces out front. Not sure if anyone has done those parking lots. After a decade of playing these games, I've only noticed that recently.

I think V2 will be awesome. If in the middle concrete section you put logos for different companies renting the spaces inside the building, it will look similar to my wife's office building. :-)

I am pleased to announce that there is a v2 in the making. A release date has not yet been determined, but the new version will include some different textures, and possibly some more features! Thanks for the recommendations and the support!

I feel like the critiques presented are totally inline with reality, but a good job at one of your first BATs
