MILITARY REGION- I had issues with this region. I have mods copied to folders for different regions and swap them in/out for the many different regions. when i swapped the folder into the pluggins for this region, there was a problem with the growable barrack housing. the spaces were blank with no building. so the housing had to be bouldozed and then allowedd to re-grow. no idea why this happens. it did happen to some farms in another region, but i thought it was due to movement of the mods inside that regions folder. I had tried to tidy things up and could have moved something in a sub folder. just a pain when you load a regions and have stuff missing. I also do not have NAM. so the pier had to be reset with a road to get the buildings to function. that double sided pier has been rebuilt too many times. that is the SNM pier. there are plans to build more. to get the PEG pier, the population needs to be higher. so much of the game years were spent getting the housing rebuilt and expanding the population. as it is now, the military region employs over 15,000 workers. around 4000 to the factory town building the tanks and jeeps. 1000 to the training base. and the rest to the navy. NOTE- the population is lower than the jobs. and the barrack housing is R$ but the SNM navy jobs are C$$'s. solutions requested for this issue? only idea I have for now is to use smaller R$$ housing and build a suburb between the base and highway. am concerned there isn't space for the # of workers the navy needs. anyone have R$$ barracks?

I remember NILLA did a study on why bannies do that. can't remember what she found. I try not to remove mods mid game. it can be risky.at 10X, my comp plays at 1X speed. I have learned to play windowed and minimize it. that helps pick up the speed. set the bannies to working and minimize, then go back to the game in a few min's. took practice. LOL oh, if you zoom in over the lakes, game speed does pick up also. since there is less to mess with the graphics.

oh goodie, a mod list. can I tear it apart? why did you place the CCJ above the RK? IMO, you get more the other way around and still have the colonial feel of the CC. the RK has more wild animals. does affect the terrain texture. curious why you chose this way? beyond that , I don't see conflicts, but there are some KID mods I don't use. been a while since I opened my own mod order. DO you have any food conflicts? I did have to move the Gothic farm addon, you only have the castle part, higher in order due to a conflict. I think it had to do with the jam house, so honey related. we all have our own styles and tastes. to me JINX mods use too much memory for what they bring. I think the last I tried was either rabbits or turkeys. I can get several more mods for each JINX mod. that is where the limit is for computers. the bigger the mod size the less of them we can play with. I went so far as to tear the RKEC apart and load much of it back with smaller mods to make more room for other mods. I use the RKEC LITE and some KID mods and re-added some of RED's houses. took too many years to get that order dialed in.

u can place the benches on the sides of the church. they don't have to be at the front. I do that with Banished. place for the parents to sit as children play in the grass while others arrive.

  20. there is a lot of info here. I didn't realize there wasn't any children. I don't run cities for 100's of years, so I may be confusing myself with the interesting info. let me see if I have this correct. question- do mods affect this or do they mainly just change the looks of the school buildings? based on all this info- if we build a normal school system <grade school and high school> with a library and museum, we'll actually over-educate the citizens and have no workers for the factories in about 100 years? libraries don't teach. so using PEGS kindergarten day care school that acts as a library will keep the people happy but also keep them dumbed down to work the fields and low grade factories. whereas if we build a city with a college and the others, everyone will b too educated and rich. but the mid level shops and factories will close down in about 100 years? assuming that all building radiuses cover the entire map. on a full map not just building 1 region, the citizens that move in at the start and build mansions will all move away from the rural sections and small towns to the metro city regions where there are more education buildings? in which case, all the shops and offices will close down and move as well. how long, 10 or 25 years? building a school system too early will bring in upper class citizens and we will have less room for lower grade workers to move in. so there will be less for the farms and factories to hire. basically the game isn't designed for the cities to function like in real life but to go from 1 extreme to another constantly. whereas a city will function with a mixture of different class people, SC4 is geared toward making everyone rich and smart. did I confuse everyone else?

with the northern sections completed, we head to the 3 railroad regions to the east. these increase the population by 22,000. 1 will build the engines and train cars, 1 will build and maintain the tracks, and the 3rd will be agricultural support. all 3 have police, fire, schools, and are making profit. I added a lot of mods to build these regions. though the write ups say they add jobs, many of the menus do not show how many when clicked on. I have o idea why. 3 pics each for Lackawanna, Lehigh, and Moosic.
