Holy smokes mayor, the ocean is covered with pollution!
Lost-In-Sofia posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
It's been a long time since I've played without any mods (except the NAM). My city is developing slowly and gradually and one thing I noticed is that without any water mods, the water condition looks very toxic. I know that my industrial sector causes this to happen (Which I eventually needed to expand because almost all residents on the region depend on) But I reckon in real life, ind. district generally will be always near the coast (to ease the transportation and yada). I happen to build a treatment plant but it costs too much to build more for my growing city (and to keep it more realistic). Anyhow, I love my dirty and manufacturing industries and don't mind the looks of it. But are there anyway to ideally keep the pollution to the coast and not spreading out the entire ocean floor? -
What Type Of SimCity 4 Player Are You?
Lost-In-Sofia replied to Haljackey's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Recently became a "purist", after being a mod hoarder a long time ago, I got back and started to play it again with no mods (except the NAM of course). I love it, the looks, very 2000s. You can say I'm trying to live life back then again (hence my profile name, hehe). Here's my recent region. I know, it's kind of bare. But it took such a long time to micro-manage little aspects of a city! Eventually little by little all that blank spaces will be filled with farms in order to feed the future metropolis for sure! -
I don't use any farm mods whatsoever. Hello, everyone. I bought Aspyr version of SimCity 4 recently (had the Windows version for 10+ years now). And I have to say I have no problems whatsoever except the installation of NAM (which I get it to work just fine). First of all, if you found any weird concepts of my explanation, just to let you know, English is not my first language. Ok, so I always build my cities using the Natural Growth method. I built a lot of farms. Except recently it comes to my consideration that I have missed something. Which is this... Umm... Can you see it? The grassy pasture fields I mean. I don't, because I don't have any of them! If you don't understand what I mean, well basically Maxis farms you get "Anchors" and "Fields" am I right? And I seem to be missing one for both, which are "Field" - Grassy Pasture http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Grassy_Pasture and "Anchor" - Pedriana Plants http://www.wiki.sc4devotion.com/index.php?title=Pedriana_Plants What's wrong with that? This is my entire region. And yes there are no things that I have mentioned. Here's my mods (I don't think it has something to do with mods)... Here's my test town... WITHOUT any mods. Still no Greeny Fields, desperate... Can somebody shed some light for me? Do I need to download something? Is this common (I doubt it)? Sorry if it seem so nonsense, but I really wants them. Thank you in advanced.

Maxis' farmlands seems to be missing
Lost-In-Sofia replied to Lost-In-Sofia's topic in SC4 Mac Users
Thank you CorinaMarie for the reply! I seem to have no dirt farms (or less dirt farms something like that) on my PC's version. Don't know whether the mod's yours too? Because a long time ago, I read somewhere that dirt farmlands occurs much frequent, yes? By the by, your explanation for Pedriana make sense. Minutes ago I tried to test it out again. As it turns out, only 1/16th of all of the farmlands is grassy field (green, with no crops). That's very weird and have never happened before on my Windows version of the game. Thanks again! Edit: Oh my after visiting your profile, you have saved my life many times before by your wonderful tutorials!- 3 Replies

Installing Network Addon Mod (NAM) for Mac
Lost-In-Sofia replied to EdLondon's topic in SC4 Mac Users
Thank you for your response. (I changed my account after I recall my username, hehe.) Noted. Edited: I copied the folder, go in, and stunned... I don't know which programs to run. By the way, I found that while I was trying to install SC4 Mapper (mac version), it won't open (the app version). So I dug deeper and found something about "Wine" app. Downloaded it, and some time has passed, I finally got my SC4 Mapper to work, via Wine (and found a lot of things about Mac Library folders). Is this the way mac users usually create new regions? And should I note something else that would break my game (or most importantly, my computer)? Cheers to you rsc204! Oh, another point, I haven't found the Auxiliary Files in any folders. It doesn't even matter anyway... right? -

Cities of the World [One Image per Post]
Lost-In-Sofia replied to jmsepe's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I must say I was stunned by the first post! Because that's where I was born and currently live in! (And didn't know there were people out there that considered our cityscape a gem! Wait until you drive in the city ) -
First of all, I'm a foreigner. My English isn't great so I apologised in advance. Also I'm quite new to the forums. I don't know much of a rules or instructions so I might have done something wrong. That out of the way, this is my region, Sain. It's a natural growth/synoecism kind of region. Ps. I am the Sims fans so I love to use Comic Sans.

I think Dr. Wilson's GRUNEN http://www.grunen.de is the best. Followed by Shilka's Quynneth http://shilkasc4.blogspot.com and Dr. Phillip's Oak River http://synoecism.blogspot.com/ -
