So, this Mod does not really function as SC4's Make Historical? Well, hopefully CO will add this feature at some point. When I played SC4 it was most helpful in making distinct neighborhoods.- 307 Replies

I have been away from SC4 for a long time but I am tempted to give this game a try. I think in-game terraforming and "Make Historical" for buildings is what I'd like to see implemented. I was hoping there would be a zone tool to create big parks as well.- 307 Replies

Well I wonder if NYBT will eventually expand his batting expertise beyond the New York City limits and include New York's suburbs? I wonder if he will explore the suburban counties in the NYC metro and bat the housing styles such as Cape Cods, Split Levels, High Ranches, Colonials, etc. I mean, if you are going to recreate the New York metro, then the suburbs should match as well. Just a thought. As a native NYer, I find that his bats are spot-on!

The new NAM, RHW, and NWM mods have been released. I am sure there are plenty of users downloading them, hence the slower speeds. I am sure it is only temporary.

Hello. I have not played with SC4 Deluxe edition in nearly two years. However, I want to get back into playing again and I am going to buy a new computer soon. I was wondering about the CPUs and graphic card choices that are out there now. Back when I was playing the game, AMD and Nvidia were the prefered components as they performed better with the game. Is this still the case? Any advice on the latest AMD/ Intel chips or the latest ATI/ Nvidia cards will be appreciated!

Thanks for the information. I'll do some more research on my end. I appreciate all of your input!

Is Sim City 4 going to be compatible with Windows 7?

Ozan :You might have to change your audio settings from surround sound to stereo mode. I think Peg had this same issue. -
Xyloxadoria's BAT and Portfolio Work Thread
schooner2 replied to Xyloxadoria's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hi there. I think your works are great. Looking at your excellent yacht gave me an idea for you. Why not bat a yacht brokerage/boat yard? I do not think anyone has made a place where Sims can buy yachts/boats. Here is a link to a picture of what I have in mind: http://ltengr.com/newsite/PhotoGallery/Trinidad%20Season%20Two/slides/Boat%20Yard.html Just an idea for you! -
Originally posted by: jabezscratch Modern PC games have become less CPU-dependent and rely more on graphic power but SC4 performance remains pretty dependent on the CPU so I'd recommend an Intel i5 or i7 processor along w/ a mimumum of 4G DDR3 RAM (6G if you are running in triple channel). Also, SC4 can get bogged down by a large Plug In folder so hard drive performance becomes (somewhat) important. You might want to spring for a solid state drive as opposed to a traditional platter hard drive. I just got a solid state drive and SC4 w/ a 3+ Gig Plug In folder loads stupid fast on my system. quote> Thanks for the advice and especially the info about solid state drives. It is good to know they make the game run much faster.

SC4 Rush Hour and Vista Home Prem 64 bit
schooner2 replied to JB3AZ's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Yes. It will work nicely. I just got a new computer with 64-bit Vista and it plays the game so far. No CTDs! Just make sure you have a enough RAM as Vista needs 1 gb by itself. I have 4 gb in my machine. -

I recently started playing SC4 again and created a whole new region. Well, now that I am ready to build cities, I am getting this strange graphic problem. See the attached picture. At first I thought it was a plug-in conflict. so I have removed all of my plug-ins. Yet,this still is happening even though the game is now a vanilla version. I have SC4 Deluxe edition. It has to be hardware related but all the drivers are up to date and I have all the latest patches for SC4 and Windows XP as well. This problem has just started as I played a sandbox region a few months ago and this problem did not occur then. I have searched this forum but it does not appear to be any info regarding this problem. My computer is Dell-specs: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 320GHz 2gb ram Windows XP with service pack 2 nvidia GeForce 6800 GPU 256mb All drivers are up to date. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Well, at least now we know what the concept of this game is really about. However, it is different than the Simcity franchise. I have stated in other posts that this game looks like a Disney cartoon. Now it's evident.....this will be a Disney cartoon game!

What happened to this bat? I hope it is not dead.
