  6. Sorry if this sounds stupid, I have no idea how to use the asset tool editor thing (super confusing to me). I wanted to request the dam that is in game, but with out the power generator, so its just a wall and won't push water out. Is this possible? I would like to just retain water in a area. Thanks

  8. No idea how any of the modding stuff works, but I would like to second Empowered One's request, I really not sure why this didn't include this already; It was such a great feature to have in SC4. Also I third MushyMushy's request I do find them quite colourful compared to real life cars.

  14. Larger Tornado MOD

    Looks great, however the size of the tornado does not effect the power of it. A tornado struck outside of my city in 2007 I believe, and it was small looking like a F3 to speculations at the time, and it was classified as a F5 after they looked over the damage. I too thought the bigger the tornado, the more power it had, but that goes to show that is not always true. Anyways, I rate this a 10/10, as the Maxis version is to small.

    What happened to this building? Yes please bring this back in this EXACT form please! If you can I don't know what you saw wrong with this, I would LOVE this. Yes I would love to see these buildings too, I hope your still around batting, it would be a shame to let these buildings disappear.

Thank you for your help. [/quote] No actually that is just the end window once you finished installing the files. I guess they use a freeware one that comes with a AD on the end of the installation. All you do is click exit and your finished.
  17. I have been running into some trouble trying to patch my game with the "UPDATE_SKU1_TO_P1_B638.exe" patch. This is the error that I keep receiving when trying to install it from desktop. So I thought maybe it is having trouble finding the location of the maxis folder since its located "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis" and NOT "C:\Program Files\Maxis", so I move the patch exe file into maxis folder and this is what I get. I have tried downloading the sku 1 version from http://sc4devotion.c...dex.php?page=16 and http://www.ea.com/simcity-4-deluxe I also have tried the sku 2 but that did not work properly, and I know the CD's I have are for North America. I have read numerous of threads here on Simtropolis and other sites, but they all seem to be the same steps that are not working for me... I can play the game fine, but I would like to install updates for night lighting and mods and what not. I have been trying to solve the problem for the past two days because I don't like to ask for help unless I really need it. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition, and the version that I am running is 1.1.610.0. If there is any info I left out, please let me know. Oh also I have tried uninstalling and re-installing several times, did not help. Oh I also forgot to add the patchfile log for both: --Edit-- I also came across another thread that mentioned doing this, but for some reason I have troubles understanding. Is he saying to move maxis folder into my other "C:\Program Files" ? or do I just keep it in "C:\Program Files (x86)"

Well the problems I was having before was with my Deluxe copy that was installed with CD's, which I think is why I stopped playing last year, because I could not get patches to work :/ oh well Gamefly has solved my problem, thank god and the GameFly copy is DRM free as it says on the page, not sure if that is good or not lol.
  21. Well I tried everything, and nothing seems to work. So I looked on the net for digital copy I could buy and found that GameFly had the deluxe on sale for 4.99 so I bought it and going to give that a try, I am hoping it will have the update already and that I can add custom content to it *crosses fingers* I have never bought a digital download before, let alone something that requires a client, but I heard that people on Steam are able to put custom content on there game, so I am hoping that GameFly will be the same. (Here's the link if anyone is interested http://www.gamefly.c...Edition/150195/ ) --Update-- YES! The digital download was a success! I am on 1.1.641.0 , so it has all the updates included already and I saved myself the head-ache :party: :party: :party: :party: I don't even need the Gamefly client to launch the game, it installed just how the regular ones does, which means I can have custom content. So I am happy now Thank you again Hellken for helping me out, I really appreciate it

  23. Patch Downloaded but Not Working

    Clearly you have Deluxe, and when you downloaded "UPDATE_SKU1_TO_P1_B638" it was successful? Because from everything I have read, that is the patch to use for North American SimCity 4 Deluxe version. I am currently trying to figure how to update mine, because nothing has worked. Do you have windows 7? I could tell that you had 64-bit windows, just not sure which version, I am just wondering if its something to do with my windows for my problem, and possibly yours too? If you had success, please update --edit-- I just solved my problem and avoided giving myself a head-ache by downloading the digital version of Deluxe from Gamefly for 4.99, it is updated already, so you won't have to worry about the patches.   24. going to try the other patches for the base SimCity 4 and see what happens, because I tried all the patches for the deluxe version from sku 1 - 5 and nothing really works other than what I have told you. I went to my documents>simcity 4>plugins and there was nothing in there Now the thing is that you have the base SimCity 4 disc and Rush Hour Expansion on a 3 CD's right? Because I only have SimCity Deluxe which is 2 CD's. So I can't do the I wonder if someone on Simtropolis has ran into this problem with Deluxe? I am so close to giving up, I might just have to hunt online for the base SC4 and RH, I don't think Deluxe can be updated.
  25. I got my copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe in Canada, I believe its a USA version , so it should be Sku 1. I get my patches from here http://www.ea.com/simcity-4-deluxe and I have gotten from https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?page=16 So far the patching with other region patches updates most of them except "SimCity_1.dat" and I tried the original just for SimCity 4 update with Sku1 and it really didnt do anything. I don't know what to do, I checked your thread out, but what worked for you didn't seem to work for me.
