This is a set of 9 lots. They are designed to be used alongside of sidewalks. These are additional lots, they do not replace any existing lots. Use them to bring variety to your cities and towns. Some of them can be used as a sidewalk starting point for parks, paths and alleyways. They are compatible with Paeng Texture Changer. Similar texture mods may change the appearance of these lots. They were designed that way. So. This is where SimPeg crew is now hanging out. I was getting desperate, when page was bugged week after week and I couldn't get in. But it is very nice to see some familiar faces again.

The Thing I don't get about SPAM
IljaS replied to darkness1234's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Thing with SPAM is that it actully acts less like a agriculture and more like a light industrial. Peoples who treat the mod like purely agricultural mod may encounter some unexpected numbers with freight traffic and employment. (This is also the prime reason why it doesn't play nicely with CAM.) -
I do not suffer from patriotism, but it still burns my eyes like **** to see that Finland was rarely even concidered a country wort of naming. South Norway and Sweden are shown and often named, but that little plant of South Finland is usually just igonored. We are not part of Europe at all? - Ilja

Yeah. We reacted to it with our magic marker pens. :D Congratulations and thank you for this beautiful update. - Ilja

Some people never learn about the social media.
IljaS replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
Things like that has happened before. Too many people don't seem to understand how important certain pirvacy information can be. My own Facebook profile is closed for friends only, but that does not guarentee that their reactions to my posts are not visible for wider audience - unknown and untrusted to me. Social media should always be considered as social network media. Status updates and privacy infromation should be balanced accordingly. Unfortunately, commercial nature of Facebook actually engourages young peoples to share their real time locations and personal information for public. - Ilja -

What's the furthest away you've ever seen a city skyline?
IljaS replied to Ol' Michiganian's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I can see Helsinki city skyline from several directions during my day. Furthest might be 13 kilometers, from a top of a building on a hill. The view isn't so spectacular from north, because the Helsinki city skyline is low. That is why my favorite point of view is further from the Gulf of Finland. -
My cities don't get done. There is always something to build, develop or preserve. Many players build their cities as scenes and those are beautiful to see. I, however, like alive and constantly moving cities, with historical sights and modern solutions. I also like regional gameplay, so some tiles might stay untouched weeks or months. I honestly don't know what to answer to your poll. I might fill or develop a large city tile in a day, or it might take a long time for me to even return to some tiles. My answer is 2 years, because I usually have changed to another region by then. - Ilja

I did tell you guys (in a separate thread) that I was drinking last night. I don't take any credit or quilt for misspelled names, words or sentences. Thank you for your patience, Bipin. - Ilja

Thank you Bibin. I appreciate the compliment (really do), but I would rather use and share content that is open for all lotters. I have released only one set of lots to this date, but my Plugins folder is filled with stuff that should get shared. I constantly find stuff that I would love to use, but am not yet capable to create. The reason why I haven't shared more of my lots are BATters and LOTters over SimPeg 4. I do not mean to overlook peoples in ST, but (as Bibin knows) my personal threads are in SimPeg 4. I watch more closely what they are up to than peoples in Simtoropolis or SC4D. Bibin spends a good part of his time over Peg' site, so his work is a great interest to me. You have more time and patience for this job than I do. If you would share your extra work in prop packs then I would love to use them. If not, then I will keep learning how to work with B.A.T. - Ilja

That would be a standard Maxis texture and afflicted by any - or most - texture changing mods. Therefore I wouldn't recommend using that, or some of us might end up having sandstone base under a cooling tower. I am personally getting a bit full of repeative textures. This is, however, one occasion where another case of grunge concrete fits well. Most widely used modular power and industrial collections are using that texture, so I don't see reason to switch it to another one. This is fine as it is. Are those drains part of the BAT or separate props? I could really use those with my lotting work, if you are planning to include them in some pack. I was going to BAT my own, but these look perfect for general use. - Ilja

I use Firefox as my default browser and Opera as my news browser. Latter is (IMO) superior for that purpose over all other brosers, because rest of them mostly ignorre all potential of RSS, or handle feeds like live bookmarks. Chorme became poisnonous to me, after I noticed that it allowed DoubleClick cookies to pass all protection protocolls. I strongly oppose all features that pierce user privacy, without us specially allowing it. Don't take this as general statement against advertisement practises, because both Google and Chrome live from advertisement. Users should still be able to select their own privacy settings. I hear that Chrome doesn't currently give any special position* for Google's DoubleClick cookies. I am unsure if this is really the case, but I have lost my trust to Chrome. Google has recently started to use blending advertisements with their search results. This does not help my trust issues with Chrome. Many peoples are trusting their privacy for Google and Chrome. Don't worry too much about it. My "paranoia" grows out of principle. :kitty: - Ilja Edit: *= I meant the word "privilege."

What are you eating and drinking while browsing the forum?
IljaS replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
My fourth beer in our local corner bar. I will go home next one. - Ilja (I am here because of three sleepless nights. There are few rare situations when I prefer "traditional" methods over a pile of pills. This is one of them.) -
SimCoug has a good point. I have a separate z_Terrain folder, where I store all my terrain related mods. It is easier to place a "z_" in front of a specific mod than constantly create and replace new folders around the Plugins folder. If something goes wrong, putting another "z" to the folder is a quick and permanent way to fix most problems. - Ilja

Need help to find missing dependencies - Trucks & Boats
IljaS replied to feeroz123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I am a bit late with this, but be sure to check Startup section of CCleaner as well. If you run any SC4 related installers from Descktop, some of them might have left junk entries behind. Those may or may not disapear during standard registry cleanups. - Ilja -
I do not know how much Simcityrules 1 knows about CAM, so I have to remind that CAMpatible lots do not require CAM, unless it is specially said so. Stats of those lots are just assigned with PIM-X and considered to be in line with CAM. You can download most industrial stuff from LEX, under industrial part of Power search. CAM IND has it's own category and those lots would need CAM to grow. Just read what the description says. - Ilja
