Can't believe the amount of custom content already out for Cities. Looks like SC4 might be replaced soon

newyorka: The seats are from this prop pack: some of the props don't show up, and I haven't had the time to fiddle with them in reader. The field is just a maxis texture, with some SPAM and various fence and tree props added in. All in all, for the sculling venue there are about 75 props, and for the Equestrian, about 142.

Crestview City Parks
runnerguy347 commented on Charlie_Zane's City Journal Entry in The Commonwealth of Mirani
I had a quick question. What overlay texture packs are you using for the park? I can't seem to find anything similar in Lot editor... -
Working on an Olympic Sculling Venue in Lot Editor. Still a work in progress. And there are buoys, they just don't show up at this zoom level. A follow up picture will be posted soon. Edited: Added some closer up photos of the seating and track sections. (Also added a teaser of an equestrian venue I just started tonight

Full version of Sibanthea. (A little Photoshop was need to fill some gaps) I still have a bunch more trees to plant, and as soon as vortext releases his seasonal tree controller over at SC4D, I'll sadly be redoing all of them.

Not sure if this has been posted here before or not, but why can't Maxis take advantage of this graphics engine. I would gladly pay $100 for a Sim City that looked like this.

Thanks Hahei!! The big question is, where is the download button and how do I get it to work?

Something from me tonight: ( I hope someone will come up with a god mode tree controller for girafe's trees, they're awesome but so much work )

I hope a month isn't too long of a bump Here's a shot from my future capital city, Aurora (W.I.P. )

Something small from me: Sorry about the grid, forgot all about it when I snapped the pic.

I'll jump in on the fun First off, that looks nothing like a DeLorean. Second, the only real one was silver, and where is Doc. Be brutally honest lol (I'm kinda stuck on this city anyway )

Maxis Will be Answering the "Best and Hardest Questions" About SimCity
runnerguy347 commented on The Avatar's article in News
There won't be any answers because EA really doesn't give a ****. All they are interested in is making the next buck and whatever they do give will only be a repeat of answers they've given before. -
@Follarch: What method did you use to create the clouds, I'd love to know.

Downtown (Central Business District) "Ideas"
runnerguy347 replied to JKRMC's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I have the same problem. While it does make the center of the city "blocky," many American (and some Asian) cities are like that. I've found that 6x11 blocks work well. These large blocks give you the option of adding a number of things: side streets, parking lots, tram/EL lines, strip parks; without sacrificing space for high-rise business. Also, offsetting some of the blocks and not running long roads straight through, really helps break the grid without breaking it, so to speak. Leave the lengthy, straight routes to the avenues. Just my 2 cents... -
Not really a city shot; more or less a detail shot: The Sea Empress on a moonless night

Sorry for the bump... Whipped this one up tonight. Oak Valley CC
