Hi, once you installed the patch, and the lights work, do you now find that for any new buildings that you plop, there are no props on them? ie cars, trees, benches and so forth, on the ground at the base of the buidling. This is a problem I am having. It effects BAT'd and Maxis builsings.

I never grew cities normally. I spent a hell of a long time plopping an entire large city, skyscrapers, factories, houses, everything, mainly because I sucked and whenever I zoned stuff, the buildings abandoned near instantly. Two things I really miss, which should have been included in SC4, were the disaster siren - Set it off and watch the people go running! - and the riot disaster.

Tarkus, that's pretty damn good. The main reason I'd use a DDHW is because it looks damn awesome, particularly in urban areas, and needs half the space of standard HWs. I wouldn't care about capacity issues.

Yeah, I mentioned this in the modding request therad. Well, we already have dual networking in the NAM with E-rail over road, so this can't be that hard to whip up can it? It would be really cool if we did have these. They would make excellent urban freeways. BTW: Link to a good video of a double decker freeway, the Embarcadero in SF, which was torn down.

Hmm, double decker freeways like SF's old Embarcadero would be damn awesome, but really hard to make I assume. Oh, and if someone could make some nice freeway gantry signs like the big dig ones, but for LHS roads, that would also be awesome.

School Picture As you (should) fully well know by now, I'm also trying to use as many different schools as possible. Here's an example. This is actually the first school I've built that had a schoolyard attached to it, as well. Problem is...I'm not quite happy with it . It seems too haphazardly laid out. Any ideas on how I could make it better? I'm open to a lot of things...thanks ! quote> I suggest fencing the entire open area (Peg's security fencing maybe), and linking the tennis and ball courts with paths.

OK, here's the story. I'm not new to SC4. But whenever I try to install it, at the point where I have to switch CD's, the computer just does not read the second install disc. I can hear the drive not running. And then the installer crashes. This happens ALL THE TIME. To get around it, I just opened up the second disc and extracted the files manually. This meant that I could play the game, but it was not recognised on the computer's programs list. Oh well, for now. The big problem is, when I bought Rush Hour, I popped the CD in and to no surprise, It did not detect SC4. I opened up the RH install disc like before, but it looked a lot more complicated. I need either: A way to make the installer read the second SC4 disc. or A way to register SC4 onto the computer's program list (the one in control panel) so that I can install RH normally. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

Well, I had to uninstall the game because I installed the wrong sku update and all the lot props disappeared (including maxis ones). Now, following your previous advice, SC4 installer yet again is crashing at the disc changeover. This time, as soon as I insert the second disc (without clicking ok) the drive spins for a second, then stops, and is idle. Nothing happens, until I click ok and then the installer crashes. This happens no matter how long I delay clicking ok. I have also tried delaying ejecting the first disc, and ejecting the seconfd disc and re-inserting it, as well as maximising the priority of the auto run process, none of which have worked. This is extremely annoying. If NetPCDoc or anyone else could give any advice, I would again be very thankful. -

Thanks for taking the time to compile the help. But I have a problem. (Actually, a few.) I am trying to get custom BAT lots night lights working. I have downloaded the sku update from the official site, and now need the BAT update. Thing is it requires to be registered on ea.com. So I register, username, e-mail etc. and put the simcity 4 serial code in, and it does not accept it. I bought this copy of SC4 from Tesco, cellophane wrapped, so the code hasn't been registered before. In addition to this, I cannot even register without serials, because I am not receiving the validation e-mail. Things couldn't get any worse. Please could someone help!! Thanks.
