As good as this game looks, I'm still unsure if it's worth 33 bucks. Thing about city builders is once I get into one, I won't want to play another one. Not really looking for a hyped or biased opinion, just factual and professional information based on gameplay and modding.

Hi everyone. It's an honor to be on this website. Anyways, it's been a while since I visited SC4 and I've downloaded around 2GBs of plugins at that time. I'm stumped on whether or not to just delete all my plugins and restart fresh to get the most updated plugins or just keep them and.. not be up to date. I figured a fellow had a similar thought than mine and then so did 100s of other people and it just became a thing and a mod was made for it. I'm just not sure what it's called. So I'll describe it: It organizes your plugins, finds duplicates and deletes them, tells you what dependencies you're missing for a building/dependency you just downloaded, tells you if your plugins are up to date. I'm probably not going to find the perfect mod for me but some help is appreciated nonetheless. It's an unsettling feeling to not know how to properly expand my plugin collection.

Thank you all so much! I will look into this.

What's every transit method best used for?
thehandyman posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
So I've had this game for the longest time but all I know is like putting avenues roads and highways is a great way to sustain a metropolis (to a degree). I feel like I don't have a good enough grasp of the knowledge of these transits and I think I'd be able to use transits better if I knew what they're best used for. So far what I know: Streets: low residential zoning Roads: medium residential zoning Avenues: Any zoning if you don't spam avenues Rail: Industry and low/(medium?) residential transit Highway: High residential and if used right can solve a lot of traffic problems? Bus: less traffic congestion Subway: less traffic congestion?? Airport: ??? Monorail: ??? RHW: ??? high speed rail: ??? Tram: ??? Bike path: ??? Ferries: ??? Canal: ??? There might or might not be some more that I don't remember. And the monorail to rail, and subway to rail transition, I have no idea what's the point of those. -

Is there a mod to delete the garbage placed on landfills? I tried all kinds of legit methods and the 2x2 tile of garbage will not dissappear.

Why don't you link here what building actually you downloaded. That way it'll be easier for us to dirrect you to the correct dependency. It's all the stage 2 buildings that are big boxes. Already put the bldgprops in my plugins. Still no change.

First question: You probably need bldgprop_vol1.dat and bldgprop_vol2.dat, found on this page: https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?page=9 Second question: Roadtop Mass Transit, found here: Thanks for the mass transit. However brown boxes still show for some reason.

So I downloaded growable maxis landmark buildings to find out that the stage 2 buildings are actually bix brown boxes.. I remember on the file description it mentions to download something from the maxis website to get rid of the brown boxes, but the site links are forever lost. Where can I find the link now? And I got SC4 from steam. Also where can I find subway stations that can be plopped on streets, roads, avenues, etc. etc.?

One thread about dependency debate had been closed which i believe for this kind a reason. People just won't stop complaining. So,. Get use to it. Dependency is still needed, like it or not. If you encounter one stuff that required many dependencies way beyond your reason to download, then it's up to you whether you wanna download or not. You don't like it, don't bother download it. Simple as that As for your street light problem. Is that a PEG Avenue Median series by Pegasus? Just wanna make sure.. Oh it's closed now? Didn't know that. Last time I checked it was still going. I know how important these dependencies are. I also know that it took me a week to get all the mods I want (for now) before I actually started playing, but there's no point discussing this on the wrong topic. I'd rather just take the dependencies I already got and stuff them into an ultra pack or something like that (I have no idea how to do that). Yeah it was thanks the boxes don't show anymore

Let's see....the possibilty is nearly impossible. Yes, there are already Mega packs out there that actually not as Mega as they should be, cause we still need to download another dependency even when we downloaded what they called Mega pack. The problem is limitation of the website. If the files are too big, it cannot be upload in this site. Take example the NAM, for limitation issue, as Tarkus from the NAM team said, the file should be link outside this site. There are another way though, that is to split the files. But when the creator do the split, another complain come in, like, "hei, why don't you make it one single part for us for easier download". Can you believe that? Oh, well, i guess we human can't help complaining, huh.. My suggestion to you is ask here if you can't find it. Missing dependency or anything concerning the game, cause this is what this thread intention. As long as there is a ridiculous amount of dependencies people will complain (including me). But for now I guess I'll take baby steps to solve my issues.

Is it possible that I could find EVERY SINGLE of PEG's dependencies in one ginormous megapack? I downloaded a lot of BATs as suggested before on this topic but the problem is I'm running into BATs that require dependencies, and these dependencies require more dependencies that I can't find! Sometimes I feel like I wanting to download every dependency in SC4 existence (in one fell swoop) so I can get it done and over with...
