  1. Recreational Usages

Most Americans are so uniformed and just take whatever information their government presents them as full truth. Hemp/weed was not only largely used by required to be grown by the Us government untill the end of ww2. Around the time pharmaceutical companies lobbied against it, around the same time movies like "Refer Madness" came out to paint hemp as a horrible drug that makes people go crazy, steal, murder, and rape. Then the war on drugs came to where they realized it's more profitable to charge people with ridiculous charges for having even a seed (in some state). Only recently because of information exposure, real life experience, and medical science breakthrough do people see its not only not bad but has many health benefits and far, far, far, fewer side effects than pharmaceutical companies. After all cui buno "whose benefit" to criminalize marijana even with its staggering research of its benfit? Am I saying there are no negatives at all, like anything to much of something can have negative effects of course. Not to sound mean but if you want to educate your child on the subject you first should become educated.
  2. Show Us Your Suburbs

It looks like a nice little town/suburb, however; at 25,000+ people I can't personally see how all the main roads are only two lanes. I live in an area of 7,000 and the main road (two lanes) gets very crowded until it expands to two lanes each direction on Arizona's side. Though, it is fair to say that traffic coming from AZ side and tourist do add to the traffic but you get my point. Not bashing, it looks very nice just that little thing bugged me from a real world perspective
  3. My SC4 CJ Scrapbook | Important update and news!

Your power plant makes mine look horribly under scale (lol), I like the real feel you got to your city. My only complaint is the lack of traffic on your highways. I imagine the realism plays a big part in that, but always makes me a little sad seeing ghost highways. Keep it up
  4. Show us Your Interchanges!

Saw something like this before and me always wanting more, decided to make it higher capacity.
  5. Right, so I been really looking at this game hard, seeing other peoples creations, and have decided to attempt building a realistic, functional, no cheat, limited Mod/Bat, balanced, region. Quick, break down to me of what each of these means to me: -Realistic, if a picture of the city/region is posted and I feel it can compare to a real world photo, even if the game city/region is one of fantasy. -Functional, Sims go to work throughout the city/region, the transit network is used, no traffic lots added. -No cheats, is almost exactly what it sounds like but with one exception. The cheat doesn't make the game any easier to build the city. -Limited Mod/Bat, means no Radical Mods, or 'Cheat' Lots. -Balanced, no trash removers with little to no effect on pollution/space. No magic dirty air removers that can clean an entire industrial town. No super high capacity anything. You get the idea... Now, to anyone that does those things, I am not putting you down. I did it too for a long time, and found I didn't really enjoy it anymore. This region, goes against just about every way I used to build for the last few years. I've also added more rules to my engagement with this region. -Use pieces I've never/rarely used. I'm using Ped Malls, Tunnels Under Road, Maxis Highways, Rail (In General), Light Rail, and more as they come up... -Nam Traffic simulator, cannot be set higher than "Low." I did this because I felt classic, was too low for what it was, at the same time anything higher than Low felt like it missed that "Sweet Spot" if you will. So, setting it too low is just right, and also after playing on High/Medium I had a hard time getting proper traffic volumes in areas I wanted. With Low, I get those nice rush hours. -Mass Transit, NAM simulator, set to Medium (American), and Buses contribute to traffic. I will keep different types of mass transit where I see them in real life. Example, El Rail, Subway, and Monorail, will only be in Downtown/Urban Settings. Bus will basically serve as the bread and butter of my mass transit, pretty much being used everywhere. -Rewards/Grow-able/Plop-able, all rewards will be properly unlocked. If there is a grow able building, and a plop-able version, the plop-able may only be plopped if the grow-able refuses to grow, and demand meets the required amount. -Trees, all trees shall be planted in Mayor Mode, not God Mode. -God Mode in Mayor Mode, the God Mode may be used, but cannot alter any buildings, or transportation. -Must not have a massive positive income, verse negative. Simply put, if my profit is $10,000 a month, my expenses cannot be $2,000. It means there is a lot of services I can provide for my city that I am not doing. -No raising taxes, taxes can go lower, but not past the default. -Hard Mode Only (HMO) -Break away from the 'grid' I Simcity4 undoubtedly does play best in a grid fashion, however; I am going to break away from the grid as much as I can. Heavy Grid pattern may only be used in Downtown/Urban areas. Long list, with a lot of rules for myself. Since I started going by that, I've had to attempt this City/Region 12 times already, because one of more of those rules/requirements was broken, however; I finally did it with this one. This Region will combine cities from all over Southern California as inspiration, with the first one being Los Angeles. I will show, Data Views, Budget, and R.C.I. I will also experiment with all kinds of things. RHW: Will not be used much, as much as I love how it looks, and what I can do with it, it simply is functional on the level I need it to be just yet, below you can see how my Maxis highway just flows, I can't do that with RHW (Yet). RHW will have it's moments of use, but expect to see Maxis Highways. Maxis content: Expect to see a lot of it, as well as some duplicating buildings. I have downloaded a lot of custom content (which will be shown), I mean a lot (CAM), but Maxis is still a strong force, and one I personally embrace, to complement my custom content collection. It almost looks 60% Custom, 50% Maxis. Now, from this picture below, I ask where you would like me to break down and provide pictures, information, or whatever else you want to see, it's also still work in progress by the way. Pick from the following 1: Explore Downtown Hot Springs 2: Explore Industrial Sector 3: Explore East Hot Springs 4: Full City Data Views (Pollution, Traffic, Other) If you read all that, thank you, promise the next one will not have too much reading. 6. Schulmania

Blinded by science so old school
  7. Los Angeles [I Need Help!] 2/9/14

Sorry to double post but can I get some help?
  8. Show us your Downtown!

Good downtown but that beach looks so dangerous a fall to the ocean. I like the last one there is some green in there so people like me can breathe better. Any feedback on mine? I'm trying to decide if I should turn it into a full scale project
  9. Stone Creek

I like the school a lot! Where did you get it?
  10. Andreica || Update 6 || Aura Again

Bravo! I like that downtown a lot!
  11. Nice region you got there, and first time I've seen that castle used in a long time.
  12. Dang... that is a lot of destruction. Will be very expensive to level the land back.
  13. Experimental skyscraper districts

Oh that's the painted desert terrain mod. My all time favorite. I use it almost exclusively and it does not make the elevation super high. See my CJ for how it looks next to water.
  14. Experimental skyscraper districts

The only real world place that comes to mind close to this idea is Las Vegas I use that example since the example was New York. Though over the last 9 years it had started to cluster closer together. They are still spaced out very much. Mostly because the buildings though tall are long too. When I get on my computer I'll post a picture that is similar to what this person is working on. Here is what I'm working on that though the layout of the roads and such doesn't match the concept but... open spaces. I like clusters like Los Angeles, but cities like Los Vegas are also interesting. Tehy even have tall casinos scatered around the entire valley build right into residential neighbor hoods.
  15. Show us Your Interchanges!

That's funny I just made one of those not to long ago, a little different but same concept.
  16. SC2013 is so Refreshing

I couldn't even fit downtown Los Angeles in Simcity2013 if I tired...
  17. Show us your Downtown!

Nice, city must do well to get the CAM Statue. Here is my downtown in progress in New Vegas Possible name, "Mega Palms Resort & Casino" "The Presidential Resort & Casino" With lack of casinos (and I do have ALL of them downloaded), I have to use my imagination a little more but it works out.
  18. Show us What you're Working On

Nice scenic picture of the county good job, but my only complaint for me personally seems a little odd that the bridge doesn't line up on both sides. It's something I been toying around with for a long, long time and at last started it. New Vegas
  19. Show us Your Interchanges!

clhigh7 that's good use of the new NAM pieces to make that. Don't you hate how the RHW 3 wall doesn't stretch out to match? (if you know what I mean) Also those palm trees please direct me too them, they would go so good in my Los Angeles! Thanks
  20. Schulmania

I used Microsoft Expressions, it's free for up to 10 minutes and great quality. I'm poor, maybe one day will get some donations or famous (lol) but for now that works with Windows Movie Maker (2.6)
  21. Schulmania

    Yeah Sandbox for the win
  22. Los Angeles [I Need Help!] 2/9/14

First I want to thank everyone for their support, comments, and suggestions. I also want to thank everyone for making it possible for my CJ to reach number one, it's a big milestone for me because it means for me personally I feel I have really improved at this game to bring great works that not only I enjoy but others as well. I am having a big problem (could be small though) that is halting me on my freeway. I've tried reinstalling the newest Nam 3 times, made sure every file was in place, and for the life of me STILL cannot get LVL 4 RHW to show up! I'll only get a support post, and sometimes nothing at all! I'm so frustrated and can't figure out what I'm missing, I've taken peoples feed back but still no luck with this. I can make an interchange without them, however the LVL 4 will allow me to make a stack I've never been able to and wanted to for a long time. If someone can help please fill me in. If I can't figure it out, I'll just start building the downtown and come back to the freeway as to keep the CJ going with updates. Next update/teaser will a have proper comments section for everyone.
  23. Show us Your Interchanges!

Thanks Schriefer. Something didn't 'feel' right to me about that last interchange, just didn't feel like a major interchange to me. So... Here is a side by side... which one is better?
  24. Show us Your Interchanges!

Can someone tell me what I missing for LVL 4 pieces to appear? I have NAM installed properly. All I get is a support column, and sometimes nothing at all. I want to build stuff like Haljacky did. I just made this... Tassajara Rd/Santa Rita Rd exit, EXIT 47 The new bridge height is so much better.
