Should be /cbg/ rather than /cgb/. That being said, I'm happy with the cliff notes description as you can always just link my Simtropolis post for those wanting extra context. Fantastic work btw, can recognize that providing context for these is a lot of work (seeing as I did just 2 so far). I'll see if I can find links to Oldshoes' image guides somewhere in the archives (or find them on my hard drive), they're succinct and helpful to new players.

Good lore dump. I'll have to make proper time to have a thorough read through. Minor correction /cbg/ isn't a 4chan board, it's a general (thread). It stands for City Building Games general (or City Building General). Because of the way 4chan works, threads will eventually expire and disappear off the board. A general is a type of thread that gets made on a recurring basis when the previous thread dies. /cbg/ originally began on the /v/ (video games) board to primarily discuss SimCity 4 and similar titles, before migrating to the /vg/ (video game generals) board. The general ran for several years but was eventually merged into the /civ4xg/ generals, as discussion slowed and couldn’t keep up with the increasingly faster pace of /vg/. Oldshoes was a frequent contributor and his image guides helped many a 4channer start their first realistic looking cities. /cbg/ also had representation in the 4chan Cup, a series of simulated soccer tournaments run using games from the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Pro tip: hover over the player names on the team page to uncover some extra funny thread lore.
