Older looking power lines for your cities and rural areas. Lot Descriptions: - 1 x 1 size - Lines are overhanging props - Found in the Power menu - Set on a transparent base - Have a $2 a month cost - Produce no power - The 2 and 3 segment lots are overhanging so that you can run them over buildings and homes. - They should function line power lines (extending power service) if you only use the 1 segment, corner, and short lots. The 2 & 3 segment lots will not do this. - Can be placed on hillsides and uneven terrain however the next lot in the chain must be at the same elevation as the one before it to make the lines match up Includes 5 Lots: - 1 Segment: spans 3 grid squares - 2 Segments: spans 5 grid squares - 3 Segments: spans 7 grid squares - Corner: spans 3 grid squares - Short: spans 2 grid squares See screenshots for examples. Built in 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Cincinnati Union Terminal serviced 216 trains a day at its peak. The station had special entrance lanes for buses, taxis, and street trollies (not included with this BAT) and included a state of the art track control center at the rear. Closed to passengers in 1971 the terminal was slated to be torn down by Southern Pacific Rail Road but the city saved the terminal and only the concourse over the tracks were torn down. Later the station was a shopping mall for a brief time and is now a city museum with Amtrack service to one train. Stats: Passenger Rail Station: 10,700 Capacity Lot: 7x6 with an additional 9x3 overhanging concourse Plop Cost: 27,000 Monthly Cost: 75 Dependencies: Mikeseith’s Yellow Taxi Props (Optional): Use if you want the taxis in front. BSC Textures Volume 1 Notes: ALL FILES IN THE FOLDER ARE NEEDED. There is the station which is a prop and a tiny, invisible, square building that gives the station its stats. This is so the concourse can over hang the lot. Made by Carpenter7 2011 Thanks to all those at Simtropolis who helped with suggestions, feedback, and troubleshooting! My apologies to those who live in Cincinnati and/or have first hand knowledge of the station. I took many liberties with the design in regards with how it meets the tracks. The game parameters and my sanity required it, though I did my best to stay true to the original and include original elements wherever possible. There is an issue with how the trains pass through the platforms: when viewed from one side they pass through properly, however, when viewed from the opposite side the trains seem to pass under the platforms. This is due to an LOD problem I could not remedy. Sorry. WIKI ARTICLE ON THE STATION -

Hello Everyone, I've been off the site for a while but I wanted to upload a few BATs I did a while back, for those who wanted them. This one is a craftsman style (or arts and crafts/bungalow) home that were popular in the 1920-40s. I based this BAT off an actual kit home (see photo). I also did a matching detached garage. Enjoy! Stats: - 2x3 Lot - $$ Res - Grow lot only - Way cool colors (as shown in photo) Dependencies: - Vintage Cars (not required) - Garage is Included You can see these in action on my CJ: City Noir -
Hello Readers, I must apologize for a very long absence from my CJ after only two postings. I would like to take a brief detour from the story line and show you the city next door to Radiant (the home of Ryan Falk and the setting of City Noir). That city is Bastion. Bastion (Area 2) sits on the southwest edge of Radiant (Area 1). Originally, it was merely a carelessly built city smeared over a large tile set simply to serve the needs of Radiant for jobs and neighbor connections. (Sorry no picture of the original) Now it has been, and is being, completely redone. Only about 5% of the original city, including transportation networks, still remains. The rest is being remade as a 1930s - 50s era suburban neighborhood, a high tech zone (which will include more vintage looking HT buildings if I feel really ambitious), a small industrial zone, and a rural country side on the opposite bank of the inlet. Today we'll be focusing on the area bounded by the blue box which is the newly completed residential zone and town center of bastion. Lets start with the demarcation point between the outskirts of Radiant (the edge of which is actually a part of the city of Bastion) and the sprawl of homes: a billboard welcoming visitors and reminding them to keep their Cadillacs and Fords at a reasonable speed. The neighborhoods are set on wide streets which run from Radiant to the coast. There's plenty of space for curbside parking, lots of trees, and almost the entire area is serviced by the Radiant City Tram Network. That means that residents send their children to school on the green car for a nickle. Students who wish to avoid the packed urban universities in Radiant can attend Holly Hill College on Allison Street. They can also get to church easily on Sunday morning. Bastion residents also enjoy spending their weekends at one of the two ballparks currently in Bastion. Use of these city parks has been so high that the city is voting on building another next year. Families and couples also enjoy seeing the cost at the cliff top boardwalk in the town center at the south end of the peninsula. Later they can visit the small farmers market or go to the beach at Rock Point. Some families own houses on the coast and others visit the shoreline woodlands just for a breather or a weekend camping trip. Of course, the people of Bastion know how to work hard too. Most people work in Radiant or in the large industrial district west of the city. To get to their jobs they can drive, take the Green Car, or take the train from downtown Bastion. They can also board their trains from one of the many rail stations that dot the rail viaduct network running through the neighborhoods. I hope you've enjoyed this trip through the tree lined neighborhoods of Bastion.

Hey guys, thanks for the compliments and suggestions. If you guys would like a longer platform simply Open the platform lot file up in editor, remove the fences at the end, and save it as a new file. then you can simply plop extra pieces of platform to make the length as you like it. I didn't do this because I often didn't have enough space for more than 2 or three tiles on my sunken network. It's a good suggestion so I may do an update and add it.Thanks!

Sidetrack: Bastion - Neighborhoods
carpenter7 commented on carpenter7's City Journal Entry in City Noir
Jamster_00 I wish I was good enough to make my own networks, sadly I'm not. I made special lots that are 4 deep by 1 wide so that only the special lots for them would grow in the neighborhoods. At the road front of each lot is a overhanging prop that gives the illusion of wide street, with wide sidewalks, with a tram network on it. It's actually just a tram on road network underneath which works because the sidewalks on that network type are very very small. I'm working on intersections to complete the look but for now the streets stop at the intersections. -

HISTORY: In the 1920s rail branched out from the dense urban center of the city of Radiant and into the surrounding suburbs to allow commuters to reach their jobs in the city. To keep rail noise and traffic interference to a minimum city planners put rail lines in sunken viaducts. This caused the creation of the Sunken Rail Passenger Stations. Simple and easy to construct these became a mainstay for urban and suburban rail lines. Their clean art deco facade made them a lasting part of the neighborhood. INSTALLATION: Use in game is pretty easy but requires a little bit of explanation due to the fact that the platform and station buildings are actually 4 separate lots (one station on each side of the rail and 2 platform lots). Don't let this scare you away! Its easy! See the readme for instructions. DEPENDENCIES: 1. Blam Overpath Props: This is OPTIONAL, it gives the appearance that the front drive crosses over the standard maxis sidewalk. 2. Vintage Cars by me: This is also OPTIONAL if you want the vintage cars shown in the photos. 3. BSC MEGA Props - CP Vol 1: This is for the fences at the end of the platforms. Maxis standard prop list doesn’t include short fences. You can see these in action on my CJ: City Noir Pictured here: Thanks for downloading, hope you enjoy! -

I've been to Slovakia, beautiful country! Great work, I really like it. I remember that on some of the mountains there would be square sections of trees missing where they had done logging, could be an interesting bit of realism to add somewhere.... In any case, great work!

yarahi, thanks for the reply. These are great vehicle mods but, unfortunately, not from the era I am looking for. Do you (Or anyone else) know of any 1920-1950s era automata? As previously mentioned I have found the cadillacs by simfanatic. Here is a photo from keltistmac's CJ that shows what I'm looking for. (unfortunately he is not currently releasing his, I already asked)
