Oops! Sorry about that.

There were some other background things to tidy up and they needed the site offline for a couple minutes. All back again now.

Doubt here is right place but I'm getting an Error code: 2C137/A when trying to check messages suggesting contacting "us" which also doesn't work as well as PM section.

Is it due to not-so-recent namechange or something else, I simply dunno.

This thread works fine. The error code itself points to sections of the board software code and only IPS knows what those mean.

Your description of the problems suggests it could be related to the site caching. Similar troubles seem to happen now and then (without any cause we know of) and if we do a full purge of the cache, that resolves it. We'll schedule some time to run that and let you know when it's ready for you to re-check if the trouble goes away.

Hi, I'm getting a 2C137/2 error today trying to PM a member who couldn't PM me (probably the same error I'd wager). Is there an ongoing issue here?

It seems this error tends to occur quite sporadically, and so it's difficult to pinpoint why or when it might happen. Sometimes it can clear up after a while and works again, and other times we perform a full purging of the site cache and theme indexes which people like @mosonče above have reported has solved it.

Let us know if it's still a problem and we can give this a try if so.

Grrrr. We'll smack it around a few times and see if that helps. (Site cache purging has to be done manually and invariably it fixes this trouble.)

Thanks for letting us know. (Tho, we didn't get anything from you via the Contact Us,  so I presume the part which worked was the page no longer throwing an error.)

Btw, a PM to CB or me (or ideally both together) is even better than the Contact Us since a Private Message will beep (notify) us.

Yes that's what I meant I didn't send anything as I assumed you didn't want me to.

There's something up with the link between the Show us your anti-grid feature panel on the front page and the thread itself. I'm getting the Error code: 2F173/K. I'm getting in if I go in via the forums page like normal.

Gallery Albums are available to create and use by all members, including yourself. Anything not working with them is likely a technical issue.

I would like to report a bug that has frequently occurred to me. A picture tells more than a thousand words:

Occasionally, this causes some trouble to me, for instance, if I'm being tagged somewhere and the bells are showing it, but it isn't listed in the notifications. The bells usually show me a number that's exactly by 1 higher than the number shown below.

Yeah, that bugs us too. Here's one way it can happen: The site sends a notice of 2 new beeps, but then in the next breath it's updating for 3 on the bell. Or, there are other times it's just an IPS goof that's beyond anything CB or I can fix.

Just curse at it even tho that won't help.

Looking into this, the file was externally linked to be fetched from a personal hosting site the uploader used.

Likely at the time the file was too large for uploading to ST directly, and so they must've done this as an alternative. I did notice said site doesn't support HTTPS (even adding the secure protocol onto the URL) and so that might've been causing an issue nowadays on some browsers. They're much more stringent than they used to be, even without particular risk downloading a file like this. Firefox for instance threw a warning alerting me, and blocked the download unless granting an exception.

In the process I found the same for these couple of maps as well:

Arequipa, Peru

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and then some

Done for those too, so it's all sorted now reuploading them each for solidity of stable storage on the ST server.

For this single pic, clicking the image does bring up the slightly larger size. From there if I right click and open in a new tab that goes to your imgur with it full size. Then when I come back to this tab the magnifying glass appears (it didn't on the initial click) and using it also opens the pic on imgur.

So yes, something is a bit wobbly with the regular clicking of an image for full size. Calling our master site technician, @Cyclone Boom.

After looking into this, I believe I've implemented a fix and confirmed the thumbnail clicking works properly.

Over the past couple of weeks a big focus has been implementing lazy loading site wide to make pages much more efficient to load. The idea being how only those images in view are downloaded, and others are skipped until scrolling to them. More on this in the coming days when I publish more info about it. But what happened is these edits caused changes in how images are served in browser. So I've made adjustments and retrospectively applied edits, which should ensure the vast majority of existing images expand when clicking. Then too for new images and even those externally hosted (e.g. yours from Imgur) likewise being the same.
