Well, here we are, ten years of Simtropolis -- and we're only a scant few months away from the next version of SimCity. Long-standing members -- thanks for sticking around, or for at least popping back every once in a while. And greets to all members old and new. This place is going to be hopping in March...! Can't wait!

This wonderful community has been the building blocks of SimCity 4's success. So much great custom content has been produced over the years, with the standards still being raised all the time. For many, it has turned a simple game into a creative hobby.

Without Simtropolis, I'm sure the game's fan-base wouldn't be as strong as it still is today. So I would like to thank Dirk, and everyone behind the scenes who help keep the cogs turning, making all this possible.

Let's hope the new SimCity grows and prospers in a similar way over the coming years. Merry Christmas everyone, and a happy 2013!

10 years is a remarkable achievement for any game or site. Many sites, mostly non-SC4 related, that I frequented when I first got this game are long gone, but ST stands! It doesn't feel like I've been here too long in comparison to some of the real legends here, but I look back and realize I've been here for about half of the site's existence. This site is a big part of the reason SC4 is still generating play and sales, IMHO. Congratulations!

I could not believe how fast time is going... I have been registered on the site for more than 3 years now and I could see how fast the community have gone grown over the years. I have so much fun in the site from sharing photos to welcoming people! I met several of my friends here on this site and I would also like to thank the dedicated members who have worked so hard to keep the site as it is now.

Ah, Duke... Simtropolis.com was actually registered Dec 2, 2002... So our "official" birthday was about 2 weeks ago.

Prior to that, we were known as "SimCity-4.net", and then I created the name "Simtropolis" and in December, registered the domain.

Has it really been 10 years? It doesn't seem like it. Perhaps because SimCity 4 is one of the few games that has survived this long? Anyway, happy 10th birthday, the big 1-0.

I remember ST 3.0 design very well, it was very colourful. I vaguely recall ST 2.0 but was either viewing as a guest or only freshly registered.
