Going to start work on Perseus' second city, Axehaven. It's located on the mainland and is connected to the island portion of Perseus by a road and high-speed rail connection. The railway is entirely underground while the road connection comprises a bridge and tunnel link across the Avalonia Strait.

Tourism-Based Economy and High Finance in Old New York

I'm working on a real-life downloaded SimCity 4 map, New York City - United States, by @izidor44, for a region focused on exploiting (and carefully balancing) the Eternal Commuter Bug, with the explicit purpose of creating tourist traffic ... not just regular commuters.  I'm also building NAM road systems, with C$$ and C$$$ commercial districts to service the tourist traffic for commercial growth.  This recent post in one of my city journals explains more.

I really enjoy the vanilla economic gameplay in SimCity 4, so I am avoiding mods (and Toll Booths) that unbalance the economic aspects of the game, but I consider exploiting tourist traffic for commercial growth as fair, and realistic ... and a madly interesting set of road traffic and mass transport issues to solve!

To that end, I've put together a brand new region map, using SC4Mapper to break the region up, favouring a combination of Large City and Small City tiles to take best advantage of Neighbour Connection economic benefits, while at the same time carefully balancing regional highway loops.  I took screenshots from SC4Mapper, stitched them together in an image editor, and pasted that jpg into Excel, to allow me to overlay city names and symbols for planning all my Neighbour Connections.

By the way, re-divvying up the city tiles in SC4Mapper is the anthropogenic disaster that destroyed my original Breezy Point city tile. 
Breezy Point is rebuilt now, and yes, it's all worth it!  

Yes, Ferries and Car Ferries are Neighbour Connections, too!  The above region map gives you an idea of exactly how much I LOVE seaside landscapes and ferries!  

It's tricky to avoid regional highway road loops, and in particular the Ferries and Car Ferries are deadly attractors of the Eternal Commuter Bug, so managing all that requires sophisticated road networks using NWM and RHW.   The above region map in Excel allows me to plan and balance how much tourist traffic I get.  The combination of Large City and Small City tiles also allows me finer grained control over regional highway road loops.  The orange Neighbour Connections are ones that I'll delete if the Eternal Commuters get too unbalanced.

I might have gone a little overboard with ferries, too.  I'm steeling myself for deleting a few of them if the tourist traffic goes nuts.  

Because the symbols are in a separate graphics layer in Excel, I can move them around to my heart's content.  

I've attempted to line out the sets of Neighbour Connections between city tiles in rough approximation of major regional highways in the real life New York region in Google Maps satellite view, in addition to planning and spacing them to control Eternal Commuters (aka tourist traffic).  The bridges and tunnels are placed in all the real-life locations, too!

The next part of the Hamburg airport fire brigade. The "older" main building.
With 11x4 probably the largest part of the fire station.
Now there is still a maintenance hall, the control building, the hangar for the rescue helicopter and the tank system for extinguishing foam.
All in all, it will be very big but at least 50 emergency vehicles have to be accommodated. Of these alone 16 fire trucks.

More items added (not done yet) and 80% of the night lighting is done. Once I add the tower it will approach 1 million polys. Fun times trying to render the whole ensemble in HD .
