I've tried a couple of times to mess about to improve the JPN one that I've used for years strictly for the telephone / power wires that come with that mod by changing some of the other elements to more modern props but quickly give up due to my lack of commitment and quite severe technical deficiencies. The props themselves are so unusual that i almost put up with the slightly strange elements of the mod just so I can have these beautiful wires.

If @Barroco Hispano would be able to use his prop genius to make a few telephone poles / cables I think i'd definitely shift to the 2024 version!

I can export some of them to the game but I would appreciate it if you post screenshots on my BAT Thread of the JPN T21 mod so I can see how it works . Something tells me that mod only works on completely flat surfaces since the "Batted wires" can't be deformed according to the terrain (they would get distorted).

Yes, we do and lament it. His Gmax subscription ran out, if I remember well, and the new one was too expensive. Mattb325 4Ever !

That reminds me that in the never ending process of custom content restorations I've never been able to finish and release the 4th GLR stations pack and further rail related megacomplex stations... I already showed these images a few times over the years in this thread. These are one of those, that I actually want to release and mostly playing with eventually.

So, the modeling is done for the five buildings/props. It's now on to my least favorite thing--texturing. I'm not very good at it, so it takes forever to get something that looks reasonable. Anyway, here's a pic of the latest test render.

The wave size is very big, the texture has a very repetitive pattern and the color is not realistic. The good thing is that I use a new method to create textures so I have control over all the parameters and can improve them.

@tariely I would like to buy that texture but I will try to do it with the one I currently have. Maybe later.

The hosting website is cafe.naver.com and the box is the log-in window. By default, files uploaded there are accessible to members only and the settings have to be changed manually for each file to unlock them. You could ask @pikachu_SQ, who is the admin, to unlock the files you need.

I had figured that might've been it before I'd posted question, but additional confirmation is much appreciated.  Also, saying it's too expensive now is like understatement of the century, wouldn't you agree?  They jacked up the price so high only rich people can afford it now.  No wonder Mattb325 called it quits.  I would've probably done the same if it had been me.  The callous disregard for paying customers and out of control greed from the software creators is truly something else.

@TheTimvh1 Thanks to Blender, Autodesk released a fairly accessible indie license but the problem is that we are tied to Mental Ray which was discontinued in 2018. Right now we don't have a BAT4Arnold.

Here's hoping his endeavor bears fruit.  Would be wonderful to finally have a BATing program that is stable and not subject to either suddenly being shutdown (Gmax) or having users priced out of it due to corporate greed (3DSMax).

Though not supported, gmax is still floating around out there and still able to be used.
I currently have it fired up on my home laptop at this very moment.

Unfortunately it requires a login on my end which is now impossible to do.  Not to mention my game sort of stopped working on me nearly a year ago.  I hope to upgrade over Thanksgiving to a modernized digital version.  Hopefully my game's code will work for that purpose. I don't have my own internet at the moment (using my android currently) so Steam is out of the question, as it holds your games hostage if not online.  Any suggestions as to a viable alternative for a version compatible with the latest content here on simtropolis and elsewhere (i.e. sc4evermore) would be much appreciated.
