Since this one is one of the most popular threads, I place this update here. The original work is not mine, but if you read through the message on the download page, you can understand why it was necessary to me to edit and update this upload.

So @UbiraJunior's CopaBacana - Park Beach has got a technical update with the permission of the site admins. The originally uploaded versions contained external dependencies probably without the permission of the original creators (SG Small Props - which are now in the BSC Mega Props Misc vol.2, LBT Prop pack vol. 3 - which had been merged into the LBT Mega Prop Pack vol.1, SHK Parking Pack etc...), so these additional files have been removed by me. Also to avoid conflicts I took out the original textures from the lot which contained them, and place them into a new DAT, also these textures got new IIDs from my range, then I replaced the textures with the new IIDS using PIM-X, so these "new" lots can work as direct technical overwrites for the old ones. Same IIDs etc... I haven't changed anything on the lots apart from the texture replacement.

I would recommend everybody who had the old files (and reading this topic and post) to redownload this plugin and update/overwrite the old files with the new files. The best would be actually if you delete the old plugin from your plugins folder entirelly (since that might still contains the included external dependencies, and some of them are no longer supported because they were superseeded by a megapack or similiar), then place this updated version into your plugin folder.

Ok, that's it for now, next time I try to come with some original stuff made by me.

I understand, but honestly I'm hesitant to do this because I'm not great with large amounts of glass and that is just a crazy amount of glass. That building must have a high AC bill.

solar panels on roofs of large flat building ; considering the amount of those malls and strip malls all over everywhere, it might help a bit (also considering the amount of heat producing parking asphalt all around them with no trees, or miserable ones). But I understand how the technical aspect of it in SC4 can be outputting.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

@Goldman Sachs

The Italians had some particularly fine cruiser and battleship designs -- usually fast -- and singularly handsome.

As usual -- your model is "top drawer".  *:thumb:  The best I have ever seen done (even in desktop gaming mode).

Yo, guy --

I'm wondering if there is a slight difficulty with the scale of the model Vs. the game scale.  *:idea:

Currently, the two largest warships available in the game are the USS Equinox and the IJN Yamato (someone please correct me if I am in error).  Equinox is a modern aircraft carrier occupying 15x4 tiles.  The Yamato is 18x4.  Both ships would be really, really close to 1,000 feet in length.  Your cruiser -- at a quick guess -- would be right around 600 feet.

I don't mean to throw a monkey wrench in the works -- but there you have it.

I'm currently working on an island which is inspired by Old Town, Cartegena, Columbia. Old Town is a Spanish colonial wall city and the wall was built to protect from pirate attaches.cartagena-oldcityjpg.jpg.912aab8dc07ab9b4d60b131f821ae2df.jpg

It's also interesting to see the contrast between the old city and the new modern skyline in the background

Cartagena_Colombia_cs-b9a2c77a9fe3.jpg.904514c796bb99ecec2b4977e4f558c1.jpg

And here's a sneak peak..5d3af7e396974_SimCity47_21_201910_42_36AM.png.fe3871d45daf78d09d65803951cc102c.png5d3af7db867f6_SimCity47_21_20192_21_25AM.png.c065409b28af5a98207d8fb073caa0fa.png5d3afd2252d7b_SimCity47_26_20198_09_40AM.png.b404334cddfc4217788ec28a03d9129b.png

We seriously need more walls and fortifications in the Spanish colonial style and the star fort / Italian trace!! If I ever get to the point of creating my custom BATs I believe recreating the fort system of Old San Juan will be one of my biggest priorities--it'll include a modular wall set, the two big forts (Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Fuerte San Cristóbal) and the three smaller forts (San Juan de la Cruz / Cañuelo, San Jerónimo and El Escambrón).

The only existing forts I know to be made for SimCity 4 in this style are San Juan de Ulua, Puerta del Pego and Fuerta del Pego.

Since I'm not working in meters -- (the Old Dog New Tricks syndrome) -- the cruiser would be around 550 feet.

So......using the other two ships as a standard for "scale" (in the sense that it is "in scale" or in relation to other similar objects), your cruiser model should be reduced to 9x3 tiles.  But -- that assumes that you want to stick to sizes similar to those already in the game.

But since you have scaled-up to 133% -- that indicates that you are figuring the length at roughly 726 feet -- which would mean it is much bigger than the real-life cruiser.

It would also indicate that you are allowing -- roughly -- 15 meters in a grid square of the map tile.

Does anyone know -- off the top of their head -- how many feet (or meters) equal a single square on the map grid ??

I mean no disrespect, my friend -- but I'm trying to figure out if this ships is going to look like Godzilla when compared to other ships.  AND -- will it mean that my existing dockyards are too small ??  *:idea:

@Goldman Sachs

With a grid square being 16 meters -- it would seem that the Yamato model (at 863 feet) is accurately scaled.  And my dockyards are cramped when using that model.  The yards were constructed, originally, with the old "PEG" Missouri Class battleship in mind ( which was on the small side of the "reality" scale).  At the time, they were pretty much the only game in town.

Is there a particular reason why you scale to 133% ?

You have to remember -- your gorgeous creations are "MAGIC" to me.  I am mesmerized by the object -- but I have not the least idea how you worked the trick.

I would love to have a sample ship to work with, especially since I'm more than likely going to have to rebuild my dockyards anyhow. (The main fleet anchorage has developed a CTD fault and I'm trying to import an early version of the map to see if I can save parts of it.)
