Some generic Airlines. Two are based on real-world companies, past and present and the other two are completely fictional. Most of the models have been generously licensed by members of the Flight Simulator community with only a couple of exceptions still awaiting permission.

Titan Airways is actually one of the UK's premiere charter airlines and have one of the coolest paint schemes. With that in mind I set out to expand upon their current fleet which includes the 737-300, 757 and 767. The Sim fleet is now comprised of the 737-800, 757-200, 767-300er, 747-8i, 787-9 and A330-300

TitanFleet.jpg

Caledonian is based on British Caledonian, another UK based company that operated in the 70's and 80's before being acquired by British Airways. Back then, the most prestigious aircraft they flew included the A310-200 and 747-200. Although we can find the A310 in the appropriate SCAG download, after the SIM Caledonian moved it's operation to your nation, the company thrived and now flies ultra cool planes such as the 747-8i, A319, A320, 757-200 and the Concorde. Oh yeah, they also fly the Airbus A350-900.

CaledonianFleet.jpg

Gryphonair is one of those generic airlines. They don't have a huge variety of airframes but they can still serve as a good national carrier with a fleet of A319, 737-800, 787-8 and 787-9's.

Gryphonair.jpg

Finally, Phoenix is the other generic carrier, one that can fill the role of low-cost or no-frills a la Southwest. They own the B717, 737-800 and 787-8

PhoenixFleet.jpg

There is still a potential to add the 777-200 and 300er to a couple of these fleets but after spending months on this already, I'm getting a little antsy and just want to play with them. So far, I'm still waiting for permission to release the 747 and 777 (if I decide to do it). The Concorde will likely be a casualty as in real-life.

There is a fairly extensive list of dependencies but everyone that will be interested is going to have most of them anyways. One of the best-kept secrets (sort of) is the dependencies residing at http://bripizza.net/sc4/index.html - the ground handling sets which add a little bit extra realism to the airport activity.

Finally, there will be NO NIGHTLITES. I have a general idea of how to do them, but I just have no desire since I never play in day/night mode.

Also, I'm selfish. Meh.

Here are some new HD MMPs I found and tested...

I'm not really working on anything in particular here; just plopping and testing MMPs.

Hi All, I have a question for you...

Do your cities continue growing/living when you move to another city within your region? I've been looking through these threads with pure amazement at how awesome these regions look. You've got highways running the entire length and it looks "real". Mine tend to all look "individual". I.e: each have their own highway and tram and train, nothing looks integrated.

Where do you even start! Haha.

Did you notice something interesting about this layout? :D

Gogo SIN,COS,TAN-street ^^

Actually I believe your streets would be theta = 0, pi/4,pi/2,3pi/4, etc, and r = 1. And then you can refer to all the addresses in polar coordinates! Wee!

This seems like a good thread for me to begin, where I can get into this great community. :)

I am making the Beika City, the metropolis shown in the anime Detective Conan (also known as Case Closed in many places). Since I am a fan of animes, and I really love Japan and it's cities, I decided to build it as accurately as possible, using a reference map at their Wiki page.

Here it is:

90565855.png

A view from top, of the city under construction:

90600984.png

I managed to get the Tokyo Tower and the Major League Stadium, although at the an alarming cost and some big loans.

The city flourished at first, but then the No Job Zots started appearing for no reason and the once posh buildings dilapidated to dusty level:

75869357.png

The buildings were abandoned in such large numbers that the riverside district turned completely into a ghost town.

44446077.png

To prevent everything from being abandoned, a new colony was constructed on the other side of the river which had much more area. The colony grew and grew until it turned out larger than the original town itself. The old town south of the river had turned into an abandoned and haunted concrete jungle for the most part. The new city, being the commercial hub, thrived:

12045200.png

The city's commerce is booming. New and bigger buildings for shops and offices are constructed every month:

26291513.png

Here is the whole city, built on a medium tile:

87975984.png

THIS is the map I took reference from. You can see, I have tried to place everything in place as accurately as possible. There are some game limitations, but at least I can try. :P

There is a whole lot of work left to make this city look like it's source. First city I ever posted on ST, so please be easy on me if I do it in a 'noobish' way.

And I hope I will be accepted into the community.

Looks great. A good idea is to take your time to check for custom made buildings, that will fit better in your project :)

Nice Haljackey! I know how hard it is to squeeze a highway through a built up area.

I've been spending a bit of time trying out different mods, such as the Paeng Sandstone textures..

tumblr_mf82owq3zn1rcw94uo1_1280.jpg

...and playing with MMPs.

tumblr_mf834pk1L01rcw94uo1_1280.jpg

Now I have to tidy up that paddock. What to put there? The villagers could use some livestock or something...

Interesting pics everyone.

I recently got back to growing more organically and less plopping (as you can see by some of the repetive buildings in the pic below). I have even started weeding out my plugins folder of LM's and Ploppables. Anyway, I have been working on this city lately, Bristol - population around 150,000 so far. It's been fun again, watching what it becomes. This is also still very much a WIP.

iYl77pvGGfkDA.jpg

As you can see, the container port is where I left off. Didn't leave myself much room, having to use my imagination over there. And don't mind the unemployment, it worked itself out shortly after. I didn't think to take another snapshot before I quit my session.

Great work zimmie, I like that far zoom pic and the muddy river look.

I've been working on a set of lots using the R$$ maxis houses from the NY and Chicago tilset. Feel free to check out more pictures and other lotting projects at my Simpeg Lot Thread.

Here's a quick test run in the fall:

Aye, thanks SimCoug. I don't much like that look for the lake though. :nyah:

Your lots look great. Always amazes me your attention to detail and how natural everything you do looks.
