This interchange is located in an downtown area so I tried to make it somewhat compact while having good connections with the downtown. I still need to add some eye candy to it

Built this interchange in a coastal city which was supposed to be a village. It was supposed to have 40.000 inhabitants, but now contains about 233.000.

Yep. But effective. Too bad it takes up such an immense amount of space.

That's fine by me, I don't like small interchanges with unrealistic sizes.

I like those interchanges. Great work everyone. Nice traffic data Hal. :)

If you build it, they will come.

Hey Hal (Ryan, etc.),

Wouldn't the congestion view be more appropriate, since the volume graph is limited to road capacity, while the congestion map is based on percentage of use?

Just my $0.02. I really like the way you get all that traffic automata on the roads, too. Mine always seems to be too dense in unused areas and too sparse everywhere else.

New interchange I made in the downtown of my capital city...a lot of traffic will eventually be using this interchange. It took me a few tries, but I like how it finally turned out...Oh, and can anyone recognize who's decorative style I stole? He's kinda famous for his highways ;) But I think it looks really nice, imo. Also, this my first time using highway signs and cosmetic pieces, and I love it!  :P

Oh, and the city surrounding this interchange is obviously not done. ;)

Haha, even the layout is similar to one I made:

Some experimenting I was doing in a sandbox region when I got NAM 32. Sorry for the UI, I didnt expect to post this pic up here. The city along with the interchange has since been deleted, but I plan on recreating it soon ;) The East - West Expressway was my first attempt at a Multi RHW. When I try it again im going to use FAR ramps instead of the Type A ramps.

    A 6 ramp parclo:

    That's all, enjoy!

A simple, yet effective and, in this case, well executed junction. I'm impressed! :)

I guess you can call this one a parclo. This is where Highway 20 meets Highway 120 as it goes through Kensington. To the south (top), Highway 120 becomes Route 120, as it transitions from a RHW 6C to TLA-7 (and then AVE-6). I don't know if I went overkill with the signs, lights, and detailing, or if it looks awkward given that I built the interchange so close to the city's western border. I'm not particularly experienced, but what do you guys think? EDIT: Thank you so much for the inspiration, Haljackey!!!

My most recent solution to an awkward interchange in the corner of my city:

Not sure if I'll keep it, but that's the plan for now. Enjoy!

I actually like how you're using the RHW-3 in a rural area of your town/city. I personally would've gone with a Dual RHW-4 configuration with a diamond interchange; kinda like much of I-95 between WPB and US-192 (much of which is the middle of nowhere). Plus, if your goal was space saving, I think you've done a good job achieving it and it looks nice and realistic. I would hit you, though, if you tried to pull this off in an urban setting.

Not bad! RHW-3 (or 2+1 roads, as they're called in Sweden) is starting to become a terrible replacement for regular four lane highways in Sweden. They cause horrible traffic situations and most swedes dread them. But they're common. Which means you haven't missed out on realism, so you've got that going for you, which is nice. :P

I actually do like 2+1 roads. They are a lot safer than wide two-lane roads and they do allow passing. If you come from a country where most country routes are narrow two-lane roads often with passing restrictions, 2+1 roads are great.

2+1 roads are often built when you want a fast and safe road link, but the traffic volumes are too low to justify a four lane motorway. It's a budget balancing act...

Thanks. To be honest, my first idea was a four lane highway with grade level crossings for roads and trains, like you have them where I last lived (speed limit is 65 mph). I didn't find the puzzle pieces for the turning lanes though. Perhaps I would have to use NWM for that, who knows.

Thank you. I had just driven on one of these in Germany a couple of weeks ago. You are stuck behind those trucks on the one-lane segments until the configuration changes.

They are often the only passing opportunities if the road is curvy and has trees on the sides.

Of course, they're brilliant. Theoretically. :P

The thing is, swedish people don't seem to understand how they work. As soon as they get into a two lane part, it becomes a race. Pass as many cars as possible. Even truck drivers do that. It often leads to crashes when it turns back into one lane, which is not exactly good for congestion. I don't blame the roads themselves. I blame the drivers utilizing them.  ;)
