Thanks Haljackey! here is another area I'm working on. 3 partial y interchanges that connect to an expressway leading to downtown. They encase an outer business district that I'm currently working on.

Double posting. A replica of the interchange between the National Freeway No.1 and 3 in Taiwan, located near a seaport that saw its prosperity in mid 20th century. This interchange was designed as a cloverstack (correct me if Im wrong) and is heavily used by freight traffic. It's also surrounded by a river on three sides. I modified some of the ramps but most of them are close to real life.

The diagonal on-slope pieces are actually road ones.

I built this baby today...(Mosaic image updated; photo at the end of post.)

    Prior to the update...

    gjck.jpg

It was so complex it required me to remove a lot of starters (which are slope-intolerant and tend to make the interchange very bulky). The steps of removing starters are inspired from Ganaram's videos. A huge thanks to Ganaram for this method.9c81.jpgI found the slope part was most difficult at the center of the interchange. The East-South RHW-4 and MIS have to pass under (0m), then pass over (7.5m), and turn smoothly in the process. It took me half an hour just to build this part...And the highway in the east leads to a more common partial-y interchange.sj9s.jpg***Update***I have managed to lower that L2 ramp to the ground, while hightening the eastern collector lanes ramps to L1. This way it appears more realistic, as we prefer shorter, smoother slopes.etj0.jpgAnd here's the updated mosaic:tf5i.jpg

You, my friend, are an RHW wizard. I applaud you. :D

This is the northern terminus of the Central Freeway in Hedonia. To the south, the Central Freeway enters the downtown area and curves around it, becoming the Cranton Freeway as it exits the city to the west. The east-west freeway in this image is currently referred to as the Northern Transverse Connector east of the interchange; to the west the freeway remains incomplete and unnamed, but is expected to extend into the coastal area northeast of Hedonia as the suburban growth continues.

This is the interchange of an interstate highway with the Anistonville Port Freeway, as originally constructed.

    Anistonville-Dec.+20%252C+121358903757.p

Widening of the interstate required the demolition of the existing interchange, and in the interest of cost- and time-savings, a simple cloverleaf was constructed in its place. No doubt this interchange will be rebuilt yet again at some point in the future:

Nice, but why not use L1 flyovers on the firt two pictures? A slope of 4 tiles from L0 to L2 maybe unrealistic... :D

Can someone tell me what I missing for LVL 4 pieces to appear? I have NAM installed properly. All I get is a support column, and sometimes nothing at all.

I want to build stuff like Haljacky did.

    I just made this...

Depends on the purpose and location. The pros and cons are fairly obvious: The diamond on the right takes up less space, whereas the parclo on the left handles higher traffic volumes more smoothly.

I guess you missed out the 'L3' and 'L4' options when installing the NAM. Or you somehow forgot to install the 'E' series controller.

    @Sims firehouse

You need to go over exactly how you edited the image to get that top/down view. That's pretty awesome and could definitely come in handy.

Well, unfortunately, this trick might not work if you have any buildings/3d models in your shots, as they will be distorted in the process. This is only viable with flat structures, such as networks. So if this disappoints you, please pardon me.

Anyway, this is how I created the image in GIMP:

Step 1. Do shearing twice (Tool->Transformation->Shear) in both directions until the gridlines (or the roads along the gridlines) are either horizontal or vertical (where the terrain is flat). Note that this step lowers image quality greatly. Recommend taking zoom 4 shots to compensate the loss of quality. But this way, it also consumes much more CPU and memory.

Step 2. Use perspective tool (Tool->Transformation->Perspective) to create a perspective. Move the top two handles toward each other, and confirm action. The result depends on how far the handles are moved. Make sure the two handles are in a horizontal line, or it will not look good.

clhigh7 that's good use of the new NAM pieces to make that. Don't you hate how the RHW 3 wall doesn't stretch out to match? (if you know what I mean)

Also those palm trees please direct me too them, they would go so good in my Los Angeles! Thanks :D
